My mom was visiting from Colorado and she really wanted to do a food tour. When I looked on line, I thought the Broolyn food and cultural tour sounded like the most interesting one out there and we were thrilled to find out that was the case! The tour takes you from the LES into several diverse Brooklyn neghborhoods. Our favorite stops were the Hassidic Jewish deli and the Jaques Torres Chocolate shop. Our guide was knowledgable and very friendly. I think the only thing we didn't like that we tasted were the cuban pork sandwiches, but we both agreed that it was still a wonderful experience trying them and we wouldn't have changed a thing on the tour!

Had a really enjoyable and informative day. We had a week in New York and it was great getting away from the usual tourist spots and seeing a very different New York. Jerry and Isaac were great guides - their insights and enthusiasm for this part of New York shone through and made the day. This was a fascinating trip round a bit of New York we would never have thought to visit ourselves, never gets mentioned in the Guidebooks and is well worth a visit. If we ever get the chance to get back to New York we'll definitely head out to Brooklyn and have a further look.

Visiting New York from California, my husband and I had a fabulous time on the Brooklyn Multicultural and Food Tasting Tour. Our guides, Isaac and Jarrod, (I am uncertain of the latter's name spelling), were full of knowledge and enthusiasm. We covered so much ground, historically and geographically, and the food was fantastic. It took my husband and me to places we never would have experienced. A highlight was sitting atop Sunset Park taking in the view of all of Manhattan while enjoying a Cuban sandwich. In fact, our daughers just moved to Brooklyn from California two months ago. We got to inform them of places and areas they had no knowledge of in their "own backyard"! They can't wait to take the tour too. Thanks for a tremendous New York experience!

Best of Brooklyn - Eating out the traditional way

We really enjoyed our day in Brooklyn, seeing and tasting our way round the parts of New York not usually visited by tourists. It was good that we were in a small group (6) as we bonded quite quickly and were able to visit the various small eateries without overwhelming the establishments themselves. I particularly liked the Torres chocolate shop and the kinishes and the chollent and the cuban panini was amazing. It was good to be informed by a native New Yorker who really knew his stuff and weaved the MPV adeptly through the streets. We felt completely relaxed and comfortable the whole time we were with him. After we made our Brooklyn trip ,our son came to join us in New York for two days on his way back to the UK from San Francisco and we enthusiastically told him about all that we had seen - he was so impressed that he hired a bicycle and toured Brooklyn on his own and saw some of the sights that we saw - though of course he didnt have the beneffit of our lovely tour guide or taste the food. The sights, the sounds and tastes have left a favourable lasting impression. If I am lucky enough to return to New York in the near future I will definitely take another Zerve trip.

An interesting insight into Brooklyn

We booked the tour prior to leaving Australia in April and visited Turkey, Greece, Paris and Frankfurt before arriving in New York 2 days before the tour. Having experienced a diverse range of ethnic cuisines en-route, it was a delight to sample the varied range of food and wine, as well as experience the cultural diversity encountered in Brooklyn. It was a fabulous tour and Isaac was an excellent host. We enjoyed every moment, and would certainly recommend this tour to anyone visiting New York, and wanting to do something totally different. This Brooklyn food tour was very memorable to us and stands out as something that we very much enjoyed taking part in.

There were only the three of us.....husband, wife and sister of husband. Isaac furnished his own car, and we were able to take advantage of some of the off-the-beaten path sights such as Cony Island. Very enjoyable, and we have already referred this activity to people from the West Coast that love New York as much as we do. Needless to say, we did not eat dinner that night with all of the wonderful snacks along the route.

Issac, our driver, made the trip great!

Issac, our tour guide went out of his way to personalize the trip , and provide a most unique experience. Not only was he a terrific driver, but also one of the better tour guides that I have ever encountered. His knowledge of Soho, The Village and in particular the various areas of Brooklyn was totally impressive. Actually, I suggested to him that he should put together his own tour guide book. If your other drivers have as much knowledge and personality, Fun Tours would be very lucky. He made riding and walking around on a hot Sunday afternoon a pleasure. I liked the idea that the trip was personalized so that we saw many things that we wanted to see, and that Issac was well versed in his history of each area.
