Excellent tour
Sun, Sep 27  11:00 AM randinc Male 70+ Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
17 in the group, the leader was knowedgeable and pleasant. Started with a knish on lower east side, then to Brooklyn for a Polish nosh, a tour through Hassidic neighborhood, to a chocolate factory, and finished with a Cuban pulled pork sandwich. We received detailed descriptions of the food and the neiborhood histories and backgrounds. The food was amply and varied. Each was a sit down meal . Combined food with sightseeing that you wouldn't see on any other tour. Well worth it. (I even convinced myself that the Cuban sandwich was Kosher!)

There were only the three of us.....husband, wife and sister of husband. Isaac furnished his own car, and we were able to take advantage of some of the off-the-beaten path sights such as Cony Island. Very enjoyable, and we have already referred this activity to people from the West Coast that love New York as much as we do. Needless to say, we did not eat dinner that night with all of the wonderful snacks along the route.

Good guide; ok tour

Our guide was very enthusiastic and anxious to please. He was kind, generous and tried hard to make us feel special, and he shared his own culture quite effectively. The problem was in getting a glimpse of the larger history and culture of Brooklyn from early times until today. For that, we were at a loss. Our guide was unable to supply much context, no doubt because for this tour organization, this isn't a priority. If I didn't already known a little about Brooklyn, I certainly would have come away with a skewed idea of the place. We also needed more walking and less eating. Next time, I'll book with a local heritage organization or other non-profit because the quality of the information will be much better -- though not necessarily the tour guide.

We really enjoyed the tour. We were lucky that our group was small and we got a lot of individual attention. Food was good too.

The tour was more than I expected. Isaac was a great tour guide!!!!! Our only down fall was the weather. I brought my two daughters to New York for the first time and we had a ball. My daughter found your tour on the internet and we booked and we were not sorry. We will book with you again and would definitely want Isaac as our guide!!

"Best of Brooklyn" tour well worth it.

We spend a week in NYC every year and we have lately been taking some of the specialty "food tours" now available. The Best of Brooklyn tour was the best to date. My wife and I went to the meet-up spot in the Village and were told by Issac, the tour leader, that we were the only signups. Rather than a cancellation, we then got a personal tour with Issac continuously pointing out the dozens of fascinating sights to us as we asked question after question. We stopped for the "world's best knish" at Yonah Kimmel's, fantastic chocolates under the Manhattan Bridge and finished with a Cuban sandwich in Sunset Park.We even got a lesson in the hierarchy of fine scotch from a Hassidic liquor store operator (and the answers to some questions I've wanted to ask about Jewish culture for years). Hearing that we loved Polish food, he headed the Jeep for Greenpoint, pointing out good restaurants as we drove. In sum, we had a lot of fun, Issac was about as good as it gets and this tour made us confident enough to return to Brooklyn on our own several times the rest of the week. (Fabulous Polish food in Greenpoint.) We highly recommend this tour. If you are fortunate to draw Issac as your guide, you will have an informative enjoyable introduction to a number of fascinating neighborhoods, each quite different from Manhattan. Betty & Jeff

Spend time in Manhattan at the beginning which was interesting but would have liked to see more of Brookyn and try foods over there.

The tour was exactly what we wanted -- "unknown" places with wonderful food. The tour did not take you to the same spot everyone else was going but actually catered to what our group wanted with impromptu stops and tastes. We enjoyed the tour and Isaac the tour guide immensely. Isaac was very knowledgeable and willing to change plans based on our interests. He did an excellent job of making sure that everyone enjoyed the tour as much as he seemed to be giving it.

Tour guide was great - knowledgable and friendly. Tour normally uses a bus but used SUV this time. SUV was cramped, people in rear seat could not see well and frequent exiting was difficult. Food was interesting and nice variety.

Our tour guide, Isaac, was fabulous. As it happened, we had a five person 'private' tour in an SUV. Isaac commented that the other part of the group requested same, so there were the 5 of us. Isaac, being Jewish, was so informative when we were at the first 2 stops. Quite an education, above and beyond our expectations. We actually felt as if he were part of 'us' and not the guide. We quite bonded with him. He's very personable and a charming young man. Since I booked the tour, I must compare with other tours I've taken in NY. To be honest, (as you requested), I feel that the cost at approximately $95.00 a person was quite high when you factor in the price of the food. I usually tour when I'm in NY and have enjoyed several tours for approx. $40-45. Of course this didn't include food and I don't think our tastings were that expensive. Of course, they were awesome, but in the long run, economical meals. I would recommend this tour, but tell folks up front that it's more expensive than others. A very special treat, compliments of Isaac, was that he dropped us off very near where our children live which saved us a trip to Manhattan to get the subway back to Brooklyn. We were tired by that time and it was nice to be 'home'. Isaac is certainly an asset to your company. We wish you and yours a very happy holiday.
