Great Way to see Lower Manhattan

The lower Manhattan tour was great. We were able to visit neighboorhoods and sites that our group would never have found on our own. Our guide Isaac was the best!

A unique and special tour of New York City
Mon, May 5, 08   8:15 PM misswhit Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
I booked the red Chevy convertible tour as a surprise 40th bday gift to my husband. We both LOVED it! We were staying in the city for 4 nights and took the tour on our first night there. It was a great way to see the city and learn some history about the various neighborhoods, while simultaneously traveling in a fantastic vehicle. We got many comments and whistles from passersby, adding to the fun ambience. Our driver was Isaac. He was wonderful - personable, friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. We loved the fact that he knew the back routes and lesser known (ie non-touristy) eating and drinking establishments. By the time we finished our tour, we felt we'd made a new friend in Isaac. We would wholeheartedly recommend this particular tour to anyone looking for a unique approach to a "city tour".

A great way to get to know different cultures
Fri, Sep 18  11:00 AM Michita Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We were a small group of tourists (a couple from Australia, a guy from Sweden and a couple from Chile) but Isaac, our tour guide, made everyone feel so comfortable that we all felt as if we were in a group of friends. We drove around Brooklyn in a great van and had the most delicious samples of food from different ethnic groups that have settled there. The tour was interesting and fun. Our favorite stop was at the chocolate factory. It“s really the most amazing chocolate we“ve ever had. And our guide was just great. If you are going to New York, this experience is a must.

We felt that although issac was very knowledgeable and friendly, the experience as a whole was hugley dissapointing and certainley not worth the £190 pound it has cost us.As we were first time visitors to new york and therfore not familiar with the district,we would not have booked a tour that was on the doorstep of the hotel virtually and felt that a little information perhaps from yourselves after our booking would of been welcome, letting us know of the proximity of the tour to were we were staying etc,we would certainly of changed it to something a little further afield if possible. Also as the city traffic is so busy the two hours goes very quickly . and it is quite difficult to see much from inside the jeep ,so again it really was for ourselves a poor and expensive choice, one I would not recommend to anyone else.

Good guide; ok tour

Our guide was very enthusiastic and anxious to please. He was kind, generous and tried hard to make us feel special, and he shared his own culture quite effectively. The problem was in getting a glimpse of the larger history and culture of Brooklyn from early times until today. For that, we were at a loss. Our guide was unable to supply much context, no doubt because for this tour organization, this isn't a priority. If I didn't already known a little about Brooklyn, I certainly would have come away with a skewed idea of the place. We also needed more walking and less eating. Next time, I'll book with a local heritage organization or other non-profit because the quality of the information will be much better -- though not necessarily the tour guide.

Excellent tour of New York
Sat, Dec 6, 08   12:15 PM MCBLAIN1 Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
We booked our tour in advance of arriving in New York, through looking on the New York internet sites. We kept it as a surprise from our two girls aged 23 and 16, and surprised they were, as were we! We were picked up from our hotel in a lovely limo by a very couteous driver (we can't remember his name) and were accompanied soon after by our personal tour guide, Isaac. He was a truely excellent guide, witty, funny, very knowledgeable of New York and a native of the region (which helps a good deal). He mapped out a really good itinerary for us, and included in it the two area we really wanted to see, Ground Zero and the Brooklyn Bridge. He took us to many other places, which we would certainly not have seen on our own, and which were very interesting and he gave us some useful background on their importance. Having your own personal tour guide on a one to one is excellent, and Isaac was always ready to answer any questions we had, as well as to impart his own local knowledge on the areas we visited. All in all the experience was very pleasurable and we would highly recommend this trip to anyone who has never been to New York before. We would also recommend taking the tour early on in your holiday, as we did, to take full advantage of the remaining time you have, to revisit areas of particular interest which were covered in the tour. Finally, we would like to say a big thankyou to Isaac and to our driver for a truly memorable experience of New York. Thankyou from Kevin, Chris, Anna and Lucy.

More than just a food tasting tour
Sun, May 17  11:00 AM mbroadmeadow Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This tour was wonderful for two reasons. The first is you get to eat some great food during the tour. The second reason is you also learn about the history and people who live or have lived in the areas that the tour takes you through. Isaac (tour director) was very knowledgeable on Brooklyn and New York (he lives in NY). He was very friendly and accomodating to our questions and needs. I would highly recommend this tour.

Visiting New York from California, my husband and I had a fabulous time on the Brooklyn Multicultural and Food Tasting Tour. Our guides, Isaac and Jarrod, (I am uncertain of the latter's name spelling), were full of knowledge and enthusiasm. We covered so much ground, historically and geographically, and the food was fantastic. It took my husband and me to places we never would have experienced. A highlight was sitting atop Sunset Park taking in the view of all of Manhattan while enjoying a Cuban sandwich. In fact, our daughers just moved to Brooklyn from California two months ago. We got to inform them of places and areas they had no knowledge of in their "own backyard"! They can't wait to take the tour too. Thanks for a tremendous New York experience!

A great way to see New York

We don't get to New York often but we had already done the open bus tour and were looking to see a part of NY that we hadn't experienced. Isaac and the convertible provided a great way to experience lower Manhattan. He was a "fount" of information and antic dotes that kept us laughing and asking more questions. If only we had the time to try all the restaurants he recommended! It was great to be envied by everyone on the street.

The trip was fun, informative and very interesting
Sun, Aug 24, 08   1:15 PM MaryKNiles Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Issac was very interesting and informed. He knows the area well. He also recommended restaurants that were good. On the tour, we celebrated my birthday by eating cupcakes under the Brooklyn Bridge. Issac was caring and called later to see how we were doing. (Tell Issac we met Murphy at the U.S. Open and we mentioned the "Fun Tours" that Murphy took.) Thanks again for an informative and fun afternoon. Jim & Mary Kay Niles from Yukon, Oklahoma

Excellent; Great way to see the city
Mon, Jul 3, 06   10:15 AM marydavek Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I have been to New York on many occasions and toured it in many ways but this was by far my favorite. Our tour guide, Isaac, was excellent; positive attitude and well mannered. Unfortunately, he was on the phone a lot (that day may have been an exception) even though he was apologetic about it. When one is spending the money he is to do this, he should get more personal attention. Isaac had excellent interpersonal skills, gave us the opportunity to shoot pictures, asked questions to make everyone feel comfortable, and laughed a lot, which we enjoyed. I would highly recommend people work on customizing their tour if they have visited NY before; perhaps skip Manhattan and tour another borough top optimize their sightseeing. Great job!

New York from a different perspective

The guide was extremely knowledgable and interesting. He showed the group parts of New York the average tourist would not visit and opened up a new discovery - great tasting food!! We exprienced Kosher, Cuban, Italian and of course chocolate to top it all off. A pleasant and different 4.5 hours
