Fantastic - thoroughly worthwhile

We thought this was a great worthwhile tour. During our time in NY we travelled on all modes of transportation - helicopter/subway/cab/boat. Because this was unique it drew attention from people on the street and was a great way to see the city. We were lucky enough to be collected from our hotel in midtown which is not the preferable collection point due to traffic however we believe that it is key to take a tour through the central area where you can then fully experience the whole NY scene. Highly recommended.

Energetic, informed guide and professional driver!

We had my two college daughters AND elderly mother. Guide Sam and driver Shariff went out of their way to meet our special needs, adjusting the walking portion as necessary with pleasant and fun attitude. Sam was awesome, completely prepared with history and interesting facts. This gave us a great intro to the city. Since we did it on the first day, they also answered questions and gave advice about our plans for the week. Wonderful.

Exciting and fun introduction to the city

I purchased this tour for my sister-in-law, her two teenaged daughters, and my three teenaged daughters. My SIL and I have been to New York numerous times, but it was a first-time trip for our girls. We had show tickets and other outings planned, but we really wanted to start out the trip with a bang, and this tour was just the ticket. We kept it as a surprise for the girls. We wanted them to be wowed with some of the "glitz" factor of the city. Having a gleaming white limousine pull up in front of our hotel on Saturday morning to take us for a private three-hour overview of the city made for some excited, giggling teens. Our tour guide, Sam, was personable, informative, and friendly. He was also (my thirteen-year old informed me afterwards) "a hottie." He seemed very proud of his city and not only told us myriad facts about the history and culture, but pointed out some neat shopping places which the girls hit with credit cards blazing the next day. He was a terrific tour guide and I recommend him whole-heartedly. The limo was very clean and the driver was uniformed. We all felt very "uptown." Although the limo will pick you up and drop you at your hotel, when our tour was over, we requested to be dropped in Chinatown for some shopping, and Sam was happy to do that. I only have one complaint about the tour, and that is why this rating is four stars and not five. Our driver conducted some kind of business on his cell phone for the entire tour. Whatever business he was conducting seemed much more interesting and important to him than we were. We all noticed, and it did detract from the "glamour" of the experience. The driver is supposed to open the limo doors, help you in and out of the limo, and pick you up when you make a stop and walk for a few minutes to see some attraction, like the view across to Ellis Island, or the Irish Hunger Memorial. But our driver talked on his cell phone during the entire tour, even if he did open the door -- that phone was glued to his ear. Several times he did not exit the limo when we did, and once he failed to meet us at a rendezvous point at the WTC Ground Zero for about ten minutes. I think that when one pays that much for someone's time for three hours, that their mind should be on their job, not on their own personal business. Our tour guide, Sam, was very attentive and made us feel very special. The driver, whose name escapes me, made us feel as though we were intruding on his private time. If my daughters had not been with us, I would have said something to him about it. But other than that one blot, the experience was first-rate, and I highly recommend it, especially if your children have never been in a chauffeured limousine before.

A fantastic way to see New York!

This is absolutely a great way to see New York! You feel like a film star, as you are certainly the centre of attention in the limo - every time it stops, people gawp to see who gets out... really! The places you get to see on the tour are interesting and a nice mixture of the regular sites and the lesser known ones. There is a good mixture of walking and driving, so you don't feel too lazy. One thing I hadn't realiized from the brochure is that there is a driver and a guide - they are not one and the same, which of course is great. Isaac is an enthusiastic and entertaining guide - a real New Yorker! Seeing NY from the eyes of someone who lives there is very special. My tour party was interesting as we were a mixture of very young and old people, and the old ones did not speak English! Nevertheless, everyone enjoyed the tour, although I would humbly offer 2 suggestions that would have improved it: 1) to establish whether people at a slower pace want to see everything or less things at a more relaxed pace; 2) for the tour guide to leave pauses between the sentences or the main points to allow people to translate. So, what else can I say? Go for it and enjoy!

A unique and special tour of New York City

I booked the red Chevy convertible tour as a surprise 40th bday gift to my husband. We both LOVED it! We were staying in the city for 4 nights and took the tour on our first night there. It was a great way to see the city and learn some history about the various neighborhoods, while simultaneously traveling in a fantastic vehicle. We got many comments and whistles from passersby, adding to the fun ambience. Our driver was Isaac. He was wonderful - personable, friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. We loved the fact that he knew the back routes and lesser known (ie non-touristy) eating and drinking establishments. By the time we finished our tour, we felt we'd made a new friend in Isaac. We would wholeheartedly recommend this particular tour to anyone looking for a unique approach to a "city tour".

Quintessential New York

This tour was the highlight of our stay in New York. They were a great company to communicate with while in New York and their service was outstanding. They were flexible and professional. The car was so much fun. In fact we became the tourist attraction for New Yorkers - nothing subtle about this big red convertible! People would wave and check out the car as we drove around. The tour itself was a great introduction to the different areas of New York. We received lots of information that was personal and interesting. It was a memorable and fabulous tour where we felt like rock stars. A big red convertible, blue skies, the Brooklyn bridge....this is what we talk about when describe New York. The photos are great. It was worth every cent. A far cry from the morning's gospel tour and display of mass and crass tourism! Thanks Isaac - next time we would love to do Brooklyn with you. This is the way to get acquainted with New York!

As this is was our first visit to New York and having read other's reviews, we decided to treat ourselves to this tour. I'm so glad we did. We opted for a Sunday morning and chose right - unusually for New York the streets were virtually empty and our guide managed to show us a few extra sights as were not caught up in traffic. The car is great and onlookers seem to like it too - a few people even took our photo! Our chauffeur was informative and we managed to see Greenwich Village, Little Italy, Chinatown, the financial district, SoHo, Tribeca and then drove over the Brooklyn Bridge to get some great photos of the Manhatten skyline from Brooklyn. If your feeling indulgent and like us, only had a short time in the city, then I would most definitely recommend this tour - it is our most treasured memory of our holiday.

While visiting our daughter, who lives in Brooklyn, we participated in what ended up being a personal tour in our guide's private car. The commentary was lighthearted and informative. The stops for food along the way were a delightful introduction to the ethnic diversity of NYC and Brooklyn in particular.

Great way to get a taste of Brooklyn

There were just 5 of us for the tour )possibly because it was Labour Day) so we had our own personalised tour with Isaac who friendly and knowledgeable. Because our group was small we got a very personalised service and this made it all the more enjoyable. It picked up on time, offered a friendly and personal view of Brooklyn and its varied cultures. The tour was informative, the food tasty and filling and there were some great photo ops and views of Manhattan from across the river. It was a great way to spend half a day in NYC and dropped us back in Manhattan at the end so we could carry on exploring and shopping. All in all great value and I would definitely recommend it.

Great insight in some Brooklyn neighbourhoods
Fri, Feb 15, 08   11:00 AM joachimfleur Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
My girlfriend and I (it wasn't a date as much as a joint activity) thoroughly enjoyed this tour, which turned out to be a private event, as no-one else had registered. Isaac is a very knowledgeable and down-to-earth guy, who had a lot of interesting things to tell about New York City in general and Brooklyn in particular. The tour proved to be a very good sampler and we will definitely come back to the neighbourhoods we visited for more (in particular Williamsburg and Dumbo). Combining the trip with food is a great way of bringing it all to life and providing some insights into 'normal life' in the areas visited. We'd certainly recommend this tour. Joachim

A tasty and informative journey through New York

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour from the first moment to the last. Although we had visited New York City on prior occasions, we had yet to venture into Brooklyn even though it’s only right across the river. After having gone on other Food Tasting Tours in Europe, our expectations were pretty high. Needless to say, we were very pleased. The ethnic diversity and colorful flavors of the city really come alive on this tour. The variety of different foods we got to taste in the various neighborhoods were absolutely delicious and uniquely different. I particularly liked the Cuban sandwich in Sunset Park. At times it felt that we had traveled to another country. Overall, we were glad that we took this tour, as it was well planned out and there was enough food served that lunch was not necessary afterwards. Highly Recommended!!!

There were only the three of us.....husband, wife and sister of husband. Isaac furnished his own car, and we were able to take advantage of some of the off-the-beaten path sights such as Cony Island. Very enjoyable, and we have already referred this activity to people from the West Coast that love New York as much as we do. Needless to say, we did not eat dinner that night with all of the wonderful snacks along the route.

We were vacationing as a family of 5 with some young children in NY for 8 days and included this as part of a well researched intinerary and were very pleased. Our guide and driver were punctual, pleasant , well presented and well informed. The tour was superb and afforded our family the opportunity to fashion a tailor-made ininerary. I would be pleased to recommend this tour to others in a similar position. dave (Ireland)
