wonderful night in Annapolis

We were a group of five friends from five states who were visiting Annapolis for a girls' getaway. I planned the ghost walk for our group. We loved the tour. The guide was very informative, answered our questions and was quite entertaining. We were the only ones on the tour, and we were thrilled with the details that she shared with us. The weather could not have been better. When you plan for a diverse group, you are never sure that everyone will be pleased. Believe me, all were entertained and thanked me for my choice. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks to our guide, we took away some very different stories of your beautiful city.

So glad we went...

While planning a trip to visit in-laws in the DC area we had heard that ghost tours were available due to all the historical locations surrounding that area. We found Annapolis Ghost Tours online and decided to give it a try. Since my husband is a Halloween junky he was pretty skeptical as to whether or not it would be worth it. However, we both are so glad we went! Our tour guide was able to find the right mix of scary, humorous, exciting, and historically interesting stories as to entertain and engage the adults but not traumatized the children. She was very knowledgeable on past and present ghostly events and you could tell that she had a passion for the stories she was telling. She encouraged questions and participation during the tour. It was a truly enjoyable and intriguing evening.

We took our boys, ages 8 and 10, on the tour. Our oldest tends to spook a bit but this was just the right amount of spook without being too scary. My husband and I thought this was a great fall family activity- beats pumpkin patches by a mile! The tour guide was entertaining and interesting and, of course, a great story teller. We found the stories of the ghosts and their history very intriguing and are even considering coming back for the pub tour (but WITHOUT the kids!)

We will consider doing more of these activities in the future. We will also spread the word to our friends about the good time we had.

Leisurely and Fun Walking Tour

The tour was fun, it was very laid back (since we were a very small group), but the information was good and the tour was nice. We had a beautiful evening so taking the stroll through the streets of Annapolis was very enjoyable. It wasn't 'scary' but it was enjoyable.

Interesting Tour of Annapolis

This walking tour led the group through parts of historic Annapolis. The stories the guide told us were very interesting and made me want to examine the haunted history of Annapolis more. This particular tour didn't enter any buildings, so nobody in the group had any paranormal experiences. Going into the buildings where most of the hauntings are said to be would heighten the experience. Hopefully something will show up on the photos I took of the cemetery. My children were with me and the tone of the tour wasn't too frightening for them.

Beyond Boats and the Naval Academy

This walking tour is a great way to savor the architecture of historic Annapolis, glean a bit of history, and enjoy some entertaining tales. The tales of Annapolis's ghosts are fairly benign -- not as hair-raising as the ghosts of London or Savannah. On the other hand, it was daylight when we set out: an after dark tour might be more spine-tingling. I have lived in Annapolis for years and learned a lot about the city. My out-of-town guests were thoroughly entertained. Remember to wear walking shoes (old streets, some cobblestones). And please, remember to tip your hard-working guide!
