we've done city tours in several other cities and this was not good. When you are in a city for the first time its nice to get a good tour . This one went to 4 or five locations, other tours comparable 16 to 24 in the same two hour period. The stories were not that interesting. Considering that this is such of a historical area we thought it could be much better.

A Most Enjoyable Evening

Our group made an entire evening in Annapolis of the Ghost Tour. Starting with dinner at the Middleton and ending with drinks at the Treaty of Paris. The walking tour was a nice experience and was both entertaining and informative. We will be making this a yearly event.

It was really interesting, the stories were good, the guide was really interesting and the atmosphere was really cool, earing stories like that at night made me see annapolis under an other eye ! I'll do it again if I can !

The stories were ok, although considering the history of annapolis, I kind of expected a bit more. Also, there was not much said to indicate where all the information came from, which left me wondering how accurate the stories really were.

Not scary at all, stories were boring

I've been on several waking ghost tours in different cities, I thought the one we did last year in Gettysburg was kind of boring, but this one took the prize. Annapolis is a beautiful town and it was a great evening for a stroll around town, but these stories seemed especially boring and our guide seemed to drag them out forever. Example: When telling the tale of the lady ghost in the Annapolis Inn, our guide gave details of how the lady looked around, how she talked, what she said to the other people in the hotel...etc. Yeah, like anyone knows what a person back in the 1700's said in a conversation. Endless little details like that just seemed to make the stories drag on for no point. It wasn't a totally unpleasant evening; it's just not what I expected. I was hoping for dark, spooky, scary tales and what we ended up getting were long winded historical tales. At least it was a pleasant walk through the streets of Annapolis, but if I had to do it again, I'd just save the $40 and walk through the streets of Annapolis on our own.

A pleasant walk with an inexperienced storyteller

There are definitely worse ways to spend 90 minutes than wandering the lovely streets of Annapolis on an autumn night, but the barely-out-of-her-teens guide wearing flipflops and too many piercings didn't create even a moment of spookiness. For $20 apiece, I'd have liked someone who could tell a good ghost story. I'll try the other ghost tour company next time.

I thought the ghost tour was very fascinating. Even after being born and raised in the Annapolis area, there was a lot of "ghost" history related to the Annapolis area, that I was unfamiliar with. The tour guide also had a great personality and was very informative. I would recommend this to others, especially tourist who may be visiting the area. I may even consider doing it again in the future.

Ghost tour of Annapolis

Brought my daughter as she had been wanting to go. We are both "ghost enthusiasts" and wanted to learn a bit more about Annapolis' history; naturally, hearing about Maryland's prominent (and lesser-known) ghosts was a great draw. It's a good historical tour, with lots of good stories about the "people" of Annapolis who haven't quite left! While we brought our own flashlight it would be prudent for the guide to bring a lantern or flashlight so that darker areas (esp. around the State House, the church across from Reynolds Tavern, as well as some of the darker side streets) are better iilluminated for those following behind him/her. Given .those uneven sidewalks and streets throughout town, it can be a little precarious if participants are of unsure footing! While it was fun to have the imagination run a bit in the days leading up to Halloween, I would have enjoyed going into some of these spots. Our starting point, the Maryland Inn, wasn't open to the group. Given its riveting, ghostly past, who knows who we might have bumped into? It surely would have set the tone, and you probably would have been looking over your shoulder all evening!

Had a good time. Learned a lot of history and a lot of good ghost stories about the area. Just wish it was a little longer. 90 minutes went by quick since a good 20 of it is just walking.

don't like your "no refund" policy

My cousin was supposed to fly from Memphis to visit me this past weekend. She specifically requested that we go on the Annapolis Ghost Tour. She contracted the flu the day before she was supposed to leave and obviously had to cancel her trip. I had already bought the tickets for the ghost tour. I could tell from reading your website and rules that it would be a waste of breath for me to explain my situation and try to get a refund. It seems to me it wouldn't be a burden for you give a refund if you sell the tour out or give people SOME way to try to sell their tickets they can't use. Things do happen and people do get sick. Oh, well. Forty dollars wasted. The lesson here: Don't buy the tickets until the day you want to go.

The 90 min tour spend by - would have loved to hear more stories. Guides are very knowledgeable and take the time to tell the stories and explain the local history.

What we did visit and learn about was very interesting but I can only imagine there are a few more places in walking distance that have a history. Other than that a very good tour.

an OK experience

It was OK, considering it was only about $45 for the two of us. The storyteller was hard to hear in many of the venues and to be honest, the stories were not that interesting. Most of the fun we had was from being out with friends.

nice idea, poor execution

trip leader was unprepared for problems she encountered. Loud, live music at first stop - I personally heard nothing of her story here. Next two pubs were reasonable but nothing exciting. She had to get private rooms that did not add to her presentation but did make her easier to hear. If the trip is informative, run as such. If it is a party, less walking from pub to pub is needed.
