This was a surprise for my Husband, I am in charge of the Romance Department. He really enjoyed the Gondola. I highly recommend the sunset tour. The City was beautiful. Stephano ordered up the weather just perfect for us. LOL

Taste of Venice in Boston's Back Bay!
Thu, Jul 26, 07   5:00 PM lscauldwell Female 40-49 Local Couple on a Date
We'd been wanting to do this ever since we'd been to Venice. It was a perfect way to mark our tenth wedding anniversary. Once out on the canal, the intense sun and heat at 5:00pm on a Thursday wasn't so bad. The biggest surprise was how much of Boston we could see from our gondola's vantage point. Runners and bikers and picnickers on the Esplanade; rush-hour cars streaming down Storrow Drive; sailboats and windsurfers on the Charles; geese and some goslings along the banks; and several self-appointed ducks as hungry mascots. Behind it all were the townhouses of Back Bay and hotels and dorms of Cambridge doing an impressive job of standing in for the palazzos of the Grand Canal! Bello!

Very Scenic

It was a great beginning to our date. The wine, cheese, and crackers set the mood real well. The kissing under each bridge (there are many bridges to go under too!) wasn't akward at all with the gondaleir behind us. I would highly recommend using bug spray because I got a few spider bites while on the boat.

Romantic and Relaxing

It is very romantic being on the river, pretty much by yourself and without any boat noise! They also provide the "extra" touches, cheese and crackers, ice bucket and glasses if you bring wine or champagne.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the gondola ride. From the history of the gondola we were riding in to the scenary, music and snacks. I would totally recommend this event!

Very Peaceful

Although I've lived in Boston 10 years, I've never seen it from this vantage point. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Leisuely passing under all of the bridges was really beautiful. Although the tour does not go too far up the river, it was still a nice way to enjoy an afternoon. The gondolier was very nice and informative. I would definitely recomend this for a romantic event or a special occasion.

BELLA NOTTE
Sat, Jul 7, 07   10:30 PM mkalypso Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We couldn't have experienced a more romantic evening if we'd put it together ourselves! From the moment we walked along the path of the Esplanade, we knew our date would be memorable. My husband and I took a 10 pm tour which I highly recommend. Most would think a sunset tour would be great but the city lights and peacefulness of the waters and park really enhanced the romantic feel of the experience. Bring a bottle of wine and kick back and relax as you are guided along a route filled with weeping willows and bridges to kiss underneath. You'll feel as if you've entered a Disney movie, "Go on and kiss the girl" and by the time you've snuggled together on the seat in the gondola, you'll be humming, "This is the night, such a beautiful night and they call it Bella Notte!" Enjoy!
