5-Star Romantic Evening

My husband and I were in Boston for work/play. We signed up for the Gondola ride with the live music, and brought a very special bottle of wine (which they opened for us and supplied the glasses as well). They supplied the cheese/crackers, fresh strawberries and truffles. Both my husband and I felt that this was one of the best highlights of our trip. Steve the Gondolier was fabulous, and the music was beautiful. I wish we remembered her name (accordian player), because she had one of the most beautiful voices. We highly recommend the Gondola ride and would definitely do this again when we return to Boston.

My husband and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and was looking forward to our first sunset condola ride. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a cloudy evening and we never saw the sun set. I loved the setting of the small canal, unfortunately there was debris in the water off to the side and the canal is right off the street which makes it a little difficult to be romantic. We began to enjoy the woman who sang and played the accordian but unfortunately it began to rain and she had to put away her instrument and we had to listen to a tape. I would still give it a shot though.

The accordian player was amazing and the rower was very friendly and accomodating. It was a romantic and authentic experience that made a night out to Boston, one that will not be forgotten.

I planned our tour as a surprise and boy was it. My family had no idea that these Condolas existed in Boston. My wife said this was one of the most romantic things someone can do in the city. I was surprised at how many people took our pictures as we cruised down the river. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Our trip was postponed due to rain. It was WELL worth the wait. We had Bella the accordian player who was awesome! I highly recommend this trip. It was a great belated 6 month anniversary present!

disappointed with gondola ride

We had some glitches in scheduling, as the gondola people and Zerve had doublebooked for the same time slot. However, that was straightened out and Joseph (gondola person) was very apologetic and good at communicating in phone calls, to straighten out the problem. The idea in general of a gondola ride is a great one; the location is the downfall, which the gondola company cannot really control. We were promised a very romantic ride. However, as far out as we went, we could still hear the big concert going on at the Hatch Shell, from where the gondolas depart and return, and 90% of the ride (it was on a Saturday night) we saw men relieving themselves on shore and police walking the shores and breaking up little clusters of people from which came the distinct smell of marijuana. A few times, people on shore called out to us, asking for a ride, so it did not end up being the romantic surprise I'd envisioned for my date. Also, we were booked for 50 minutes and Joseph had indicated that we'd receive a little longer ride, given the glitches in the beginning; however, from the time we left the dock to the time we returned, it was a total of 45 minutes, so we were actually shorted five minutes. All in all, it was a different experience and my date enjoyed the surprise - but, given the location and the activity of the locals, over which the gondola company has no control, do not expect it to be romantic, even with the accordian player/singer, champagne (I brought) and basket of goodies.

This was a very wonderful experience and I highly recommend it!!! I took my (now) fiancée on this for our engagement proposal, it was truly romantic and very unique (and of course she said yes!). The special service they offer when it comes to proposals is a great idea any I recommend any considering proposals with this event to look into it. The live music was amazing and really set a pleasant atmosphere, the whole thing exceeded my expectations which were already set high. The staff was very professional and friendly, we can't wait to go again soon and relive this!

We have lived in Boston for the last 5 years and this is by far the most romantic and original thing we have done. Even if you have lived here for years, get out and see the Charles River from a different perspective. The staff is wonderful and attentive. There is no other way to spend a beautiful Boston sunset.

Midnight ride made the Mezza Luna magical!

My husband and I were very pleased with our Mezza Luna experience. We had rescheduled from an evening ride to an eleven p.m. ride. At first we were leary of this change, but after cruising silently through the water with no other boats around, we felt that we had the city to ourselves. I highly recommend riding on the river after dark. We also highly recommend the accordian player-- it was so special to have live music in the boat with us. I'd definitely say spending the extra money for live music is worth it! Finally, everyone I spoke to-- from making the reservations to Charlie and Marco to the accordian player- were very friendly and polite. Overall a truly magical experience!
