Gondola di Venezia

With champagne chilling on ice, cheese & crackers and a rose for the ladies, we embarked on our ride. With soft music in the background, Marco explained the origin of the boat and how few boats and gondoliers there were outside of Venice. We enjoyed a wonderfully peaceful view of Boston from a different vantage point. Having grown up in the area, it was surprising to find such a wonderful activity in Boston. I highly recommend the tour for anyone wanting a quiet, unusual view of Boston.

With the music, the lapping waves, and the beautiful boat by lantern light, this makes a wonderfully romantic experience. Highly recommended! A highlight of the year.

I surprised my girlfriend with the Il Bacio gondola ride. It was at sunset on this past Saturday, September 1st. The weather was perfect! The staff was welcoming and very friendly. The ride was so peaceful and relaxing. We shared a bottle of wine and indulged in the treats provided - cheese and crackers and chocolates. The music of Andrea Bocelli was playing on the cd player. So romantic! We had an amazing night and got to experience the beautiful Boston skyline in a whole different way. I recommend this to everyone planning something special for their date nght!

I'd heard about the gondola tours on Chronicle and thought it sounded like fun, so I booked it for our 24th anniversary. We were very fortunate that the weather was spectacular the day of our tour. We found the excursion very relaxing and romantic. It made me feel very special that day. We were very impressed with our gondolier and his knowledge of his craft. We recommended it to several of our friends the next day.

I would highly recommend this tour! We were treated warmly by our gondolier and accordian player and instantly made to feel comfortable for our romanitc and relaxing journey on the Charles. The views of Boston and Cambridge from the water were great. Don't forget the Champage to accompany the picket basket of goodies they provide. Relax, enjoy and let the romance in.

My GF and I have lived in the city for over 2 years together and this gondola ride was a perfect escape from our hectic lifestyle. It was easy to take a deep breath and relax while not even noticing the fact that you are a stones throw from Storrow Drive. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested. The only flaw (although small) the wine glasses provided were plastic.

Thinking of celebrating your first wedding anniversary? We were - and did. Took the gondola on a brilliantly sunny, lazy day, on the Charles River, and under the canal-like bridges, next to Back Bay. An accordionist behind us, singing romantic songs, the steady squeaking of the gondolier's pole propelling us forward... Can't think of a better-spent hour!

I suprised my boyfriend and took him to dinner then we bought two bottles of champagne... we walked to the Charles and he had no idea what we were doing. When we got to the place he was so excited and it was the most romantic thing we have done together. The music was fabulous, the night air was warm and clear, and the basket of treats was perfect... we both agreed that it was the best date we ever had.

Enjoyed the ride very much. Everything was prepared and ready to go and the staff friendly and accomodating.

I surprised my husband for his 61st birthday and it was such a wonderful, fun and romantic experience. Marco the gondelier was so personable and the Accordianist, Brawnwin was extremely talented. I would recommend this for any occasion!!!

This was fantastic! It was my new girlfriend's birthday and I decided to surprise her with a gondola ride. She didn't even know it existed in Boston! She was totally blown away! The gondolier took photos of us with our cameras with the Boston skyline as a backdrop. They were accommodating to our being 5 minutes late, and very cordial overall. The weather was beautiful, and the boat and views were amazing. This was my second time, and I will definitely do this again!

Not only where they extremely helpful in my own planning, the wonderful picnic basket they provided with cheese and orange sodas was a wonderful post-proposal treat. With the sun setting over Cambridge and the moon rising over Boston, I could not have asked for a better setting!

I spent a week in Boston and the gondola ride is and always will be my fondest memory. From the Gondolier, to the scenery, to the basket of goodies that were provided, everything was perfect! It was extremely romantic, at times I felt like I was actually in Venice. This activity far exceeded my expectations! This was worth every penny and I will do it again everytime I return to Boston.

I had read the reviews before doing this and even with all the great ratings I still had doubts on how it would be. It ended up being that much and more...the gondelier was extremely personable and welcoming and just facilitated the end of a great evening out. Highly recommended ....
