Gondola di Venezia

This was the perfect weekend activity to do with our friends who were in from NYC. Everyone loved it. And I will definitely arrange to do this again with others.

My husband and I visited Boston for my birthday and did the gondola ride before we went to dinner. The gondolier and accordion player were wonderful guys. They allowed us to relax and enjoy the beautiful view while sipping champagne and munching on strawberries and cheese and crackers. It was a evening to remember and one of the highlights of our trip. It was so romantic and a definite must do event in Boston!!

My husband and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and was looking forward to our first sunset condola ride. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a cloudy evening and we never saw the sun set. I loved the setting of the small canal, unfortunately there was debris in the water off to the side and the canal is right off the street which makes it a little difficult to be romantic. We began to enjoy the woman who sang and played the accordian but unfortunately it began to rain and she had to put away her instrument and we had to listen to a tape. I would still give it a shot though.

After spending a full day in Boston Harbor, hiking on Spectacle Island, walking through the North End, eating pizza from the Upper Crust on Charles St. in the Public Gardens, we walked over the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge to the Charles. We were more than ready for the tranquil gondola ride on the river. With footrests and a basket of goodies at our feet we sat back on the comfortable throne like seats. The gondelier and the accordian player were friendly but once on the boat kept to themselves and let us relax. A splendid way to end a splendid day!

A wonderful evening. Gondolier was great,accordionist had a lovely voice-felt like we were in Venice.

It may have been that our gondolier knew we were local so he didn't point out points of interest. People visiting the Boston area would probably be interested in local landmarks - or depending on the mood of his riders, he could remain quiet.

The whole event was wonderful, start to finish. We were 2 couples celebrating a birthday for one of us. The weather cooperated fantastically, and they had prepared a picnic basket full of cheese/crackers, strawberries and chocolates! The wine we brought was uncorked and put in an ice bucket, and off we went . . . and the singer/accordian player was great. The gondolier and singer both were 'invisible' and never spoke unless spoken to (which wasn't necessary, but we realize that's probably part of it - they aren't the event, the trip itself is). I've already recommended this to anyone wanting an unusual celebration, or just a peaceful cruise around the Charles River. We were never more than 50 feet from shore, more often we were closer. I will definately make reservations again. Many thanks for a wonderful evening cruise!

Cannot believe that we had never heard of this tour. It was wonderful! My husband and I had been to Venice several years ago and I decided that this tour would make a wonderful surprise birthday gift for him. We went out at 9:00 p.m. and there was only one other boat on the water. Everything from the gondolier, the accordian player, the complimentary picnic basket, etc. was PERFECT! It felt just like we were in Venice! I highly recommend this tour--one of Boston's best kept secrets!!!!!!!

We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this experience. Our Gondolier was wonderful. She told us information regarding the Gondola and the making of it. We really appreciated the history. She was very professional. We will be sure to take another Gondola ride when we are back in Boston. Thanks again for a wonderful time!

This was a wonderful experience. Gondolier was great, accordian player was lovely. Would probably do it again, But I do think it was way over priced. I would do the less expensive deal for sure.

i thought this was amazing. i set the time to be around sunset. though the boat we were waiting for was late, it made the sunset even more perfect. as we turned to the left after traveling away from the dock, the sunset was amazing. the italian music on the cd skipped a lot so the gondolier shut it off. the silence was better. the water was calm so the reflections in the water were amazing. the city looked great. as we turned down the canal and the sunset was behind us, the canal was dark. it was a great mood setter because the bridges are recommended to be kissed under. all in all it was amazing. perfect weather. i cannot wait to do it again next year.

LAST SATURDAY, 1 NOV, MY HUSBAND TOOK ME ON ONE OF THE MOST ROMANTIC RIDES WE HAVE EVER HAD. A ONE HOUR GONDOLA RIDE ON THE CHARLES RIVER (BOSTON) WITH THE STRAINS OF ACCORDIAN MUSIC AND LOVE SONGS. THE FACT IT WAS AT SUNDOWN ONLY ENHANCED THE EXPERIENCE. NOT ONLY THAT, I RECEIVED A DOZEN BEUTIFUL RED ROSES. IT IS TRUELY A TRIP THAT ANYONE WITH A LITTLE ROMANCE IN THEIR SOULS WOULD APPRECIATE.

I chose this as a unique birthday gift for a friend. It was absolutely fantastic!! We went in the evening, the lights from Boston, the stars in the sky, the gondelier and the accordian player set the ambience for a truly romantic and outstanding experience!! Thank you!!!

It was very romantic for I and my Husband of 22 years.we enjoyed it very much.I think that next time were going to try it in the Summertime.To see which Season that we like better.But we didn't receive our liphograph pictue.I didn't want to make a big deal of it.Next time.But I will recommend it to all my friends.And we willbe back.The music was great,Thank you to everyone .You all made our Very special Night .Very Special.See you all next year.Donna and Bruce Cobe 10/18/08

The gondola tour was awesome i would go on it again in a heartbeat. I go to school in Boston so I was the one who actually surprised my boyfriend with the ride when he came to visit. We don't get to see each other all the time so it was the perfect romantic activity. I recommend going at sunset it was absolutely breathtaking and so peaceful. The gondola guide was so sweet and very professional. This was among the top 3 things i have done in Boston.
