Gondola di Venezia

I took my boyfriend on the gondola ride for his birthday. It was absolutely wonderful. We both enjoyed this very much! We went on a perfect night. We left when it was still a little light out, we saw the sunset, and by the time it was over we saw the city lit up in lights. It was so romantic. I felt like we were in another place. The gondolier was very nice and the gondola was absolutely beautiful. (and of course we kissed under each bridge!) I really recommend this for any couple who is looking for a little romantic evening.

The view was beautiful but the over all experience was not worth the price I paid. We hit a bridge with our boat and there were people hanging out under the bridges which killed the romantic atmosphere.

I planned our tour as a surprise and boy was it. My family had no idea that these Condolas existed in Boston.My wife said this was one of the most romantic things someone can do in the city. I was surprised at how many people took our pictures as we cruised down the river. I would highly recommend to anyone.

The Gondola ride was simply beautiful and amazing. I took my wife for her birthday and it made the whole day turn into a special and memorable moment. Not only was it a unique experience, it was very relaxing. There is a distinct feeling that you are alone that brings a peacefulness to the ride. The soft melodies of the accordian are euphoric, and the service of all those involved in the operation was unrivaled. I thank everyone for making it such a wonderful experience that I cannot wait to repeat with my wife again and again.

The gondola ride was a great time. Definately corny but really fun. Probably wouldn't be fun a second time.

I was celebrating my wife's birthday and the weather outside was a little frightful. A representative from GondolaTours contacted me well before my departure time to let me know that they were rescheduling our tour to another date. Since we lived locally, it was fine by us, but little did I know we were going to get some of the best weather GondolaTours so far have seen this season. I was very impressed that they called to reschedule, and the gondolier and musician were great hosts. If you're looking for a romantic evening, this is a wonderful option.

After having a wonderful experience a week ago, my wife and I decided to give a gondola ride as a gift to her parents. We managed to surprise them and it was perfect, they absolutely love it. I think my favorite thing about the gondolas is that most people don't know about it, so it truely is a surpise up until the last second.

The accordian player was amazing and the rower was very friendly and accomodating. It was a romantic and authentic experience that made a night out to Boston, one that will not be forgotten.

I would say the only irritating thing was the canned music- instead of gentle accordion recordings, it was the egregious Celine Dion. My gondolier was very gracious and was able to turn it off. The gondola was beautiful, the snacks were decent, the rose was a nice touch, and everyone was kind, although I was struck how filthy the water is near the boat.

It helped that the weather was perfect, but I decided to surprise my wife with a night time (10pm) Gondola ride. It was awesome. The music, the ride, the snacks, everything was perfect. My wife said it was one of the top three things I've ever done.

Our 26th Wedding Anniversary - nice sunny day and warm. Great! Take off from work early and this is going to turn out great. However, while I am driving home I get a call on my cell. "Sorry the trip is cancelled because of the weather." Huh? " It is too windy for the boats to go out today." So Plan B has to develop quickly. We go to Boston anyway to visit the waterfront and take in dinner. Getting off the Pike we see several flags near the seaport that are hanging limply - no "high" wind. So we parked by the Aquarium, had dinner and took in a wonderful sunset harbor cruise on very calm waters and sparse clouds. Meanwhile the gondola operator has my money and we now have to reschedule. We will see how it goes but it won't be our anniversary. I think the "high" winds was just a lot of hot air!

I did not review my Bacio Excusion back in May because all the reviews were so positive already. I didin't feel like I had anything to add. This summer I went to Venice, Italy and was astounded how #1 expensive the gondola ride was (no ice bucket for our wine, no cheese, chocolate, and crackers, no romantic music playing in the background!!) #2 crowded the tight alleys were (we were a little too close to the bugs crawling up the sides of the walls) #3 dirty the back "alley" canals were #4 insane the slimey gondoliers were (ours NEVER shut up and made fun me kissing my husband!) Having said this, no one can deny that Venice is unique. If you can't make it to Italy, know that you are receiving a highly romantic and top quality trip with the gondoliers in Boston. The boats are kept in PRISTINE condition, our gondolier Steve/Stephan had just the right balance of information for the tour of Boston and knew when to back off so that we could enjoy our romantic sunset moments together. This is a great way to see Boston at sunset. The park is perfect, too! Bravo, Boston!
