| The Mezza Luna was a great ride. We chose a 5:30 trip in August. Weather was perfect for it. Beautiful views of Boston. The gondolier and accordian player were delightful and unobtrusive. We brought wine, they supplied the ice bucket and opener. The basket of goodies was exactly as advertized. Cheese & crackers, chocolates, and strawberries. Plenty for the four in our party. The gondola was clean and dry; we could have easily dressed for an elegant evening in town without worries. We're sure to do it again sometime, perhaps after dark so we can see the lights of the city. But I'd do another daytime trip in a heartbeat as well. We were so surprised to find this has been in business for nine years. How did we miss it all this time? Luckily for us, we received the trip as a gift certificate. Otherwise, who knows how long it would take us to find this hidden gem. Booking's a breeze through the well-designed web-site. Highly recommended as a gift for yourself or for someone else. Remember to bring cash for a tip and enjoy! | ||||||

| The gondola ride was excellent. We had a beautiful boat, friendly staff, and an amazing ride. The gondolier introduces him/herself at the beginning, but they give you your privacy throughout the ride. We only wish it was longer!! | ||||||

| Great time and a super idea.....did it for wifes birthday and she loved it...kids liked as well...but it was a hot day, and the red cloth on the seats stained an expensive new shirt...had to walk to a store downtown to buy a new shirt....otherwise, great venue. | ||||||

| My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time on our gondola tour! We chose the 9pm time slot and the river was quiet and beautiful. The staff was great as well. Our only complaint is that we wished it could have gone longer but I guess time flies when you're having fun! | ||||||

| I surprised my wife with a Bellissimo 9pm cruise for our 15th Anniversary. We had a wonderful time and absolutely -zero- stress. I recommend the live music option - once the Gondola moves down the canal and out on the water, the accordian music covers the sounds of the city, yet still allowing you to have intimate conversation. There was even a movie playing at the Hatch Shell, but we did not even hear it once the music and cruise began. A truly wonderful evening we will remember always. We are already talking about sending my parents on their own Bellissimo cruise! Cruise Date: 07/24/09 9pm | ||||||

| After spending a full day in Boston Harbor, hiking on Spectacle Island, walking through the North End, eating pizza from the Upper Crust on Charles St. in the Public Gardens, we walked over the Arthur Fiedler Footbridge to the Charles. We were more than ready for the tranquil gondola ride on the river. With footrests and a basket of goodies at our feet we sat back on the comfortable throne like seats. The gondelier and the accordian player were friendly but once on the boat kept to themselves and let us relax. A splendid way to end a splendid day! | ||||||

| This was a very wonderful experience and I highly recommend it!!! I took my (now) fiancée on this for our engagement proposal, it was truly romantic and very unique (and of course she said yes!). The special service they offer when it comes to proposals is a great idea any I recommend any considering proposals with this event to look into it. The live music was amazing and really set a pleasant atmosphere, the whole thing exceeded my expectations which were already set high. The staff was very professional and friendly, we can't wait to go again soon and relive this! | ||||||

| It may have been that our gondolier knew we were local so he didn't point out points of interest. People visiting the Boston area would probably be interested in local landmarks - or depending on the mood of his riders, he could remain quiet. | ||||||

A Most Spectacular Evening

| The whole event was wonderful, start to finish. We were 2 couples celebrating a birthday for one of us. The weather cooperated fantastically, and they had prepared a picnic basket full of cheese/crackers, strawberries and chocolates! The wine we brought was uncorked and put in an ice bucket, and off we went . . . and the singer/accordian player was great. The gondolier and singer both were 'invisible' and never spoke unless spoken to (which wasn't necessary, but we realize that's probably part of it - they aren't the event, the trip itself is). I've already recommended this to anyone wanting an unusual celebration, or just a peaceful cruise around the Charles River. We were never more than 50 feet from shore, more often we were closer. I will definately make reservations again. Many thanks for a wonderful evening cruise! | ||||||

| Cannot believe that we had never heard of this tour. It was wonderful! My husband and I had been to Venice several years ago and I decided that this tour would make a wonderful surprise birthday gift for him. We went out at 9:00 p.m. and there was only one other boat on the water. Everything from the gondolier, the accordian player, the complimentary picnic basket, etc. was PERFECT! It felt just like we were in Venice! I highly recommend this tour--one of Boston's best kept secrets!!!!!!! | ||||||

| My date and I was promptly greeted and introduced , escorted on the boat and explained the history of the boat and our guide and his training for the trip on the charles. I was very happy that they still accomodated us for the evening because the weather was trying as it continued to rain, and they did say that an e-mail was sent to us because of the weather, but it could not have been a more beautiful night on the charles, we had a basket of cheese and crackers and lovely chocolate, candle and lanterns lit , need I say more..... | My wife and I went on the Bellissimo tour for our 18th anniversary. Our first evening was canceled by Gondola Tours because of rain, and they were very friendly about it. We were already in the area that evening, and they said they'd take us if we wanted, but they really recommended a nicer night. Since they would have gone to waste, they even gave my wife the roses she would have gotten had we taken the tour on our original night. Rescheduling on the phone was easily and pleasantly done. They were helpful with checking both weather and availability. We went on the tour over a month later, and had a wonderful time. We went at 9:00, and think it was even better than sunset would have been. The gondolier and the accordion player were available for questions or comments, but were careful to let our time be about enjoying the tour with each other. We enjoyed the snacks, the breeze (not quite cool enough to pull out the blanket), the waves, the bridges, the trees, and everything. There were several couples looking at us as we passed under bridges (we gave them our recommendation). There were even a few fireworks on the horizon while we were out on the river. That was a coincidence, but we pretended that the tour had arranged it for us. Although the Bellissimo was the most expensive tour, we felt that our hour flew by, and are glad we didn't take a shorter one. The experience as a whole and all the little points were certainly worth it. | ||||||
