| I was skeptical about this tour because I had never heard of the museum and alot of New Yorkers aren't aware of it either. My husband and I were there for three days and this was the most amazing, heart-wrenching, wonderful, tragic experience of our lives. Gary went through alot (God Bless Him) to show the American people that Recovery can happen. I believe this museum needs to be more well known. It really hits home!! People need to see this so they don't forget!! It not only helped us remember what happened on Sept. 11, but also made us more aware of what it was really like and what Gary and all the other Recovery workers went through. | I brought my 13 year old daughter to the Ground Zero museum to help her to remember what happened that day. There are no graphic materials in the museum. The focus is on telling the human side of what when on for the 9 months of the recovery. We spent 2 hours viewing the 100 items that were in the museum. I know this will sound strange, but you should look in the bathroom because they are letters from the children around the world and a poster of the Band of Fathers that is very moving. After visiting the museum, we walked down to Ground Zero, which is pretty well covered up for construction. We also found St. Paul's Chapel, right across from Ground Zero very moving as well as going around the block to St. Peter's and seeing the cross that fell from the 67th floor of the WTC. |

| I found out about this workshop by searching the internet. I'm from Vancouver BC and remember waking up September 11th after most of the events had already taken place (due to the time zone and my sleeping in). It was extremely emotional to see the footage and actual artifacts from that day. I thought it was very tastefully put together and they definitely keep the best interests of the families effected at heart. I have already recommended the workshop to a friend travelling to New York in August. |

| The WTC Museum was worth the trip - particularly since the WTC site itself is under construction with not much to see at all.
A visit to the WTC site followed up by the museum was worthwhile together.
However - there was far too much self promotion on the part of the photographer! The tapes that you view at the begining was more about how hard it was for the photographer at Ground Zero - and how he had a hard time coping with the event - and not enough about how hard is was for everyone else.
Take away this shameless self promotion and it will be a more worthwhile museum. |

| The simplicity of the presentation and surroundings adds to the impact of one man's experience through his collection of images and artefacts. Amongst the group I attended with were two young women in their early twenties who found the exhibition to be both painful and inspiring to view. If you,like me, are having the personal debate of whether to visit the exhibition is voyeristic or in some way too soon after the tragic event, please be assured it feels right; it feels respectful. |

| The Ground Zero Museum Workshop gives you a very upright, honest insiders look into 9/11 and the recovery operation. Much more personal than the "official" Ground Zero Visitor Center near the site. And you can see the Meatpacking District as well. |

| The museum workshop gave me a personal insight into many people affected by 9 / 11.
It was an emotional rollercoaster that left me realising and appreciating just how short life is, yet at the same time I now have even more admiration for the men and women that worked on site during the recovery, and then of course there is the people of New York who are determined to get on with life and prove that no act of terrorism will stop life from going on. |

| I live in New York City, but visited the museum with family members who live out of state. Visiting the museum provided essential context before taking them to Ground Zero (which is now a busy construction site bearing little resemblance to the images of 9/11).
This is a small museum with a big punch and a bigger heart. If you are visiting New York from out-of-state I highly recommend visiting. You will learn more about (and feel more connected to) the events of 9/11 at this museum than you will by visiting Ground Zero itself.
My only constructive comment to the museum's management is to hide the video game console and games which were stored (neatly) in plain view of visitors at the flat-screen television. I don't begrudge the use of video games by staff when there are no visitors present, but the triviality of video games could be offensive to some guests as they view emotionally charged photos and artifacts, particularly the family and friends of victims. A simple media cabinet would solve this problem for everyone. |
