The museum is small but very personal and a great opportunity to better understand the post 9/11 recovery. It was unique and offered something for everyone in our party -- including children as young as 10 years.

This was a BEAUTIFUL and VERY moving tribute to the sorrowful loss as well as the heroism of 9/11/01. The museum is absolutely a destination must for anyone visiting New York. We did a lower Manhattan walking tour prior to visiting the museum to see "Ground Zero" first-hand. We took a convenient subway ride to the museum and arrived to a very warm greeting and tour explanation by the staff. The movie and accompanying headset explanations of various items throughout the museum was superbly done and highly informative. The guide allowed us to actually hold several objects from the WTC and that made our visit even more poignant. Be prepared for a few tears and surprisingly a few smiles that accompany some of the incredible photographs and artifacts. This is absolutely one of the true highlights of our visit to New York and we are definitely suggesting that friends and business associates visit this incredible museum. Thank you to the friendly and helpful young guides - they told us to take our time and really absorb the museum and we sincerely appreciated their courtesy in allowing us to spend several hours poring over every exhibit and photograph. This was WELL worth booking and attending and is a tasteful, extremely informative exhibit that will no doubt stir the hearts of family members visiting as well as those of us who empathize with their tremendous losses. We are ALL united brothers and sisters in this country and must never forget 9/11/01.

PROFOUND

My family and I found this museum/exhibit to be profoundly moving, thought provoking and insightful in ways that are very difficult to put into words. My 10 year old niece was with us at this museum. Her reaction to this museum was so thrilling to see. She was captivated the entire time. When it was over she said to me, "I wish everyone in the world could come here. I had no idea about 9/11 until now." She was only 6 when it happened and this was such an intense learning experience for her. My husband, my mother-in-law and I were also all deeply moved and grateful to have the opportunity to learn so much more and through such eloquent photography and narration. I highly doubt there will ever come a time in my life when any museum will surpass what this one has meant to me.

I learned a lot about that day (Sept 11th) that the news did not cover. It was worth my time. I didn't feel rushed to leave and I was able to go through the museum at my own pace. I would recommend it for anyone of any age. Thank you.

Moving Tribute to both victims & recovery workers

Upon entering the workshop's space, you think "this is really small, how am I going to spend 90 minutes here?" This thought soon dissipates as you realize you are in a small space which encompasses the enormous heartbreak of the 2,700 plus victims' families. You further realize that their pain is compounded by the sorrow seen in the faces of the FDNY recovery workers. This is an intimate place for you to see, hear, touch and feel a fraction of the profound agony thru Gary Suson's magnificent photographs and interactive workshop. The space which the Ground Zero Museum Workshop occupies is similar to a human heart, small in size, but rich in the love, sadness, loss, tears and memories that it holds on to. May none of us ever forget 9/11, the victims, their families and all of the brave recovery workers.

A small museum with a very big story to tell

Although I was, at first, underwhelmed by the size and appearance of the museum, I found it to be a very worthwhile visit. The video presentation and the many objects in the museum told the story of the 911 attack in a powerful, personal manner. I would recommend the visit very highly to anyone who is interested in understanding the personal effect 911 had on so many people.

Heart-wrenching museum all Americans should visit
Mon, Jul 2, 07   12:00 PM lross007 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
Though small, this museum had an intensive display of photos and items recovered from Ground Zero with audio stories of each display. Very tasteful account of what happened on 9/11/2001 that literally took you back in time to that horrific day New Yorkers endured. I was able to buy a beautiful book by Gary Suson who was the appointed photographer of this horrific event. I will treasure this book as an important part of American history that affected the entire world. The young tour guide did an awesome job of respectfully narrating the contents of this modest museum and, out of respect for this nation, ALL Americans visiting NYC should visit this Ground Zero Museum. I was there - my room overlooked Ground Zero...part of me felt self-loathing for looking down into it, yet I could not stop. God bless Gary Suson, the citizens of this awesome city, and God bless all of us. THANK YOU.
