I visited with the museum with my Husband this week, although reading many reviews we didn't quite know what to expect, but when we arrived we were very surprised at how sensitively and compassionately the Museum was set up with a very personal touch to it. The pictures and artefacts were truly fascinating especially with the commentary to go along with them to explain the story behind each one. We would defintely recommend making a visit to this museum while on a visit to New York.

I am still amazed by the ability of Gary Souson to capture one of our country's most terrifying moments in such an honest yet respectful manner. The guides were excellent and knowledgeable. A very emotional and moving experience.

When we first entered the museum, we were doubtful as to what it would be, because it was one small room only. Well we have the pleasure of the currator/ creator, Gary there with us, and his staff of 2. Gary began the presentation and then turned it over to his assistant. They gave us a brief descriprions of the various pictures and some other background on various things relating to the exhibit. After that the tour was at our own speed with the use of prerecorded listening devices. Each picture had a number that corresponded to handheld listening device, which told the story behind the picture. We were free to do as we pleased at our own pace and re listen to things if we didn;t fully understand what we heard the first time. This museum even though it was as small as it is, gave a better first hand story of what really went on during the recovery, than any of the major news outlets worldwide. This probably was because of the access the photographer was given and the expertise in which he did his job. There are no pictures of anything that people could consider morbid ( no dead bodies or remains of any kind we photographed) by request of he Fire Department. He put into pictures what no other news reporter or other camerman was able too. For anyone who visits New York and does not go to see this exhibit, you are missing out on the truly greatest story of the horrific events of 9/11. This exhibit hopefully will forever remain the fitting tribute to the hero's of that tragic day.

Provided to nephew and his girlfriend to go see. They really liked the exhibit, how it was set up and how moving it was. I have already heard them recommend to friends that will be visiting. I was not able to go as I had to work.

My boyfriend and I viewed the workshop during our trip to NYC last week. Upon entering the museum we did not expect to be as greatly moved as we were. The museum is small, only about the size our our living room, but as we soon found out we shouldn't have judged a book by its cover! The room is full of pictures and artifacts that each have a story behind them. These stories are told by Gary himself and you truly receive a first hand account of what it was like for the firefighters and police officers working the ground zero recovery. Gary had taken on the duty of being our eyes in an area that the public was not allowed to view and he has portrayed the aftermath of 9/11 in such a way that some stories hurt, some stories make you wonder, and most of the stories help to show the goodness of human nature that shined through even in New York's darkest hours. You will walk away from this workshop with a lot better understanding of what went on in the pit through a sheltered view. There are no human remains or known personal belongings of victims. That's not what this museum is about. It is to help bring closure and a better understanding and to relieve some of the hatred that was created the morning the towers fell. You will be amazed by the stories that Gary tells in the tour. Never will you get an understanding of what went on in the hole better than the way that Gary helps to depict it to us. This is a wonderful exibhit and I'm very glad I had the opprutunity to experience it.

This experience MUST NOT be missed. It was the highlight of my weekend in New York and will stay with me forever. The exhibition is beautifully and sensitively put together and allows you to experience a real intimacy with the situation without it being voyeuristic. The tour guides are gentle and wonderful. The overwhelming spirit of sheer love and loyalty - particularly the Band of Fathers - is both humbling and uplifting. I am from the UK and was visiting New York to meet up with my daughter for the weekend before we both went home. This exhibition was made the more significant for the both of us as I hadn't seen her for more than seven months as she had been travelling. I bought Gary's book for my husband and he and I shall return to New York so that he can experience the exhibition for himself. Thank you.

Thank you for putting together such a touching memorial of this terrible attack. I signed up via the internet (found out about it via web surfing). I took my 14yr old nephew. We were both thankful for the opportunity to learn more of the stories of this time. Although it is not a typical 'feel-good' type of experience...it is one everyone visiting NY should experience. It reminded us of the good that is found in so many others...to be grateful for every breath that we take...every day is a gift from above. My nephew and I learned alot from this visit; we will certainly encourage others to visit. Thank you for your touching tribute. May God bless you for your efforts, and all the families of those lost that day.

This museum workshop topped our trip to the city. An absolute treasure and timepiece is within this museum. Very easy to find and very friendly tour guide. Also, had the opportunity to meet Gary Suson. He is an amazing person. September 11 is a tragic event that is a part of our history. Gary was able to capture this like no other and created something spectacular for all of us to see. He allowed this part of history to never be forgotten. Definately take the time to visit, it is worth every penny and moment.

Attending the Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. How something so tragic can be captured and represented in such a beautiful way is beyond me. This exhibit represents the reality and the tragedy that took place on September 11th and the many grueling months after. However, Gary's pictures and the way the museum is set up is so respectful to all of those that were affected on that awful day. Touring the museum is an event in my life that I will never forget. I am truly honored and blessed to have been given the opportunity to experience something so magnificent. I highly recommend this museum to everyone. Thank you to Gary for creating something so wonderful.

Among a Red Sox-Yankee game (won by the good guys - the Red Sox) at Yankee Stadium; a Broadway Show; Fourth of July Dinner and Fireworks; tour of Ellis Island (educational) - this 2 hour Ground Zero Museum time was the most poignant, meaningful, and emotionally charged part of our weekend. The presentation was superb and the time to absorb the pathos and the heroism and the human dignity portrayed through the photographs and artifacts of the recovery at Ground Zero touched my soul and required many tissues to dry my eyes. It is important to know that the presentation is not overdone at all. It is the photos and artifacts themselves that evoke - at least for me - emotional response. I am grateful to my wonderful daughter, Stephanie, for recommending this activity. I am - the writer of this review - her Dad, and my name is Shaun. I recommend this visit most highly.
