Enjoyed the stories, pictures and artifacts. We were not sure if the visit was worth it what we paid in admission., however, knowing that the proceeds were be used to support the family's of 911 victoms and/or relief workers made it that much more worth the expense. Thank you

very intimate setting and lots of information about the recovery effort of 9/11. The narration by photographer was great. Being able to handle artifacts from the WTC was memorable. See part of plane from Flight 11 was chilling. Good museum to see along with visiting Ground Zero. Don't miss highliner structure and garden a block from museum. Very nice in the good weather. Lots of good restaurants. Located in trendy area.

The photography exhibit, supplemented with actual found items from Ground Zero - is unique and very powerful. Although the museum is small, it is the perfect size for personal reflection on the impact of 9/11. The museum is not overwhelming, but the photographic images allow us to better understand the enormity of the recovery process and the role of the fire fighters and police officers involved. It is a peaceful place, full of pride for the American people and respect for those Americans who perished in this tragedy.

Visiting this place was not what I would have thought of as a typical holiday activity but I went at the behest of my partner and I must say this was one of the most touching and thought provoking few hours of my life. The collection of artifacts, superb images and personal stories makes for a very powerful and tangible connection with this moment of modern history and manages to convey the enormity of both the WTC attack and the recovery efforts, along with the intense dedication and suffering of those involved in the recovery. The museum environment is comfortable and intimate, safe and the staff are excellent, managing to remain attentive but not overpowering to you as you make your way through the individual exhibits. If you need to stop, sit and recover/reflect on what you have seen and heard, there is space to do that too. All-in, a memorable and truly worthwile place. Thanks.

Something everyone should experience

The Ground Zero Museum Workshop is a place that everyone should visit if they get the chance. The photographs, memorobilia, and stories create such strong emotions that I believe that anyone who visits will share. It is truly an amazing and awe inspiring experience. My entire group will recommend the museum to anyone for years to come and we will "never forget." My only complaint is that I wish we had more time in the museum than just 2 hours because I feel that I could have spent another 2 hours and still have been entertained, for lack of a better word, the entire time.

An incredible experience, extremely well done. The audio program was concise and to the point, allowing each visitor to proceed at their own pace. I wanted to be sure not to miss anything, so I traveled around the room hitting all those things that intrigued me. Then I went back and caught additional images and sounds. There was plenty of time, I discovered, to go back and revisit some of the images and sounds. Truly amazing and well done. I would recommend this to anyone who experienced 9/11 from a distance to get a true flavor of what some people experienced at Ground Zero. This keeps the memory alive.

BREATHTAKING AND EMOTIONAL

Coming to New York for the first time since pre-9/11/01, I was curious, and scared, and saddened. I have seen the documentaries, seen the movies, and even remember the day it occured, and watching it on the news, but nothing brought it home like this museum. This made it real to me. To be able to hold some of the objects that were straight from the tragedy, hearing first hand stories, and seeing pictures, was just breathtaking and emotional. It was really difficult for me to relate to what went on, but here it was...real. It wasn't Hollywood overraction, this was real! This museum gave me chills, and a feeling of such sadness. I cried a couple of times because of the intense subject, and how they displayed it, and told the story. This is a small museum, but what a powerful experience! The worker there was so very nice and pleasant. She shared her stories with us too, and spent some time with us, answering all of our questions. I highly recommend this museum. Of all the places we visited in New York, this was the one I will always remember!

Touching Tribute to the Victims of September 11

We found the stories and the pictures to be very moving. They gave an insider's perspective on many aspects of the events of 9/11 as well as those of the following months. I have seen many documentaries of this terrible day but your museum had many exhibits that showed things that I was not aware of. I personally found the fate of the dogs to be quite moving. Thank you for sharing this with the public

Annie did a great job of setting an appropriate tone for the event. She explained what we'd be seeing in the two video clips. They were great since they covered the history of how Susson came to capture the images and objects on display. There was a lot of history in the photos and objects on display. We had plenty of time to listen to the narrative as we roamed the room and focused on items one at a time. If you want to get a feeling about the human side of 9/11 then we strongly recommend the Ground Zero Museum as the perfect place to visit.
