| My family were in New York for the first time, 2 years after 9/11. We visited Ground Zero then and on subsequent visits, but although deeply moved (and as the rebuild has progressed, encouraged) I have always felt a little voyeuristic, so I wasn't sure about this museum. It was highly recommended, but I was concerned about sensationalism being used to profit from such a profoundly sad historical event.
I needn't have worried. It is a tiny place, but it's stories take around two hours to tell. Essentially it is a chronicle of how the New York Fire Department coped with the aftermath - from the recovery of the victims to the clearing of the site. There are stories and images here that will stay with you forever and the whole thing is very carefully, compassionately and tastefully presented. There is nothing gory or overly dramatic here, it is simply real life, at that time and place, captured on film.
Truly amazing and highly recommended. |

| We were quite surprised to find the activity taking place in one room but more we listened and looked the more appropriate it became. The setting was very respectful and sensitive, our guide was excellent aiming the session exactly right for the mix of ages and nationalities and it was good to meet Mr Susan.
We were able to take time to look at the different photographs and artefacts and I even went back to a couple to listen again to the excellent commentaries, the room was comfortable and welcoming which meant we were able to sit and contemplate what we were seeing and hearing.
We were very disappointed at ground zero site, to see a fenced building site after all these years. Therefore the museum provided a tribute, place of remembrance and thank goodness there is somewhere for family, friends and the rest of the world to go - come on America sort out the ground zero site, but well done to the museum and staff and thank you.

| I appreciate all the work Gary put into creating tghe Ground Zero Museum, and how much he acknowledged the need for God and faith in a disaster of this nature and magnitude. The stories were special and from the heart; they helped us to connect with those that were directly involved in the disaster/recovery. Everything was done in good taste and with the utmost of respect and honor for the grieving families.
We are from the West coast, and at the time of the disaster our son was 9 years old. He was very interested in what happened and in details about the twin towers themselves. My husband had scheduled a trip to NYC with our son in 2006, but had to cancel it due to my father's funeral; visiting the museum was a highlight of this trip, especially for our son. We were also very grateful that we had the opportunity to meet Gary and thank him personally. |

| Don't visit if you want to be voyeuristic about the actual 9/11 disaster. This is a personal collection of artifacts and photos from the days after the disaster with emphasis on the ones who lost lives and providing physical reminders and comments from the people invloved in the rescue operation. Don't worry that the Museum is not at Ground Zero. |

| Intimate and touching, the Ground Zero Museum Workshop is one museum that you will remember for the rest of your life. I learned new information about that tragic day in September. Viewing rare artifacts from the site, my family and I felt that this museum brought us a peace and closure. This museum really helps you get a better feel for those closest to the tragedy. Do not miss the Ground Zero Museum Workshop. I will NEVER FORGET September 11th, 2001. Thank you and God Bless. |

| I'm glad I visited. I can see how it would be very difficult for a native New Yorker, but it will help everyone to Never Forget. This is not a typical tourist thing to do. Gary was very straightforward in his presentation, and no pressure to buy a print or book. Recommend to all. |

| Didn't know what to expect, but left there very happy that we decided to see Gary's collection. Would definitely recommend it to others. Two hours well spent. |
