Absolute Must See....Exceptionally Moving

This was the best museum experience I have ever had. It was so moving and very emotional. It gave me a personal perspective of 911 by seeing the stunning photographs and hearing the heart wrenching stories of our heroes. The fact that we were able to touch some of the artifacts from 911 made it a very humbling & emotional experience. It was great that we were allowed to take pictures. It was awesome that we were able to meet the amazing photographer Gary Marlon Suson. It was the icing on the cake!! I highly recommend this must see museum. You will leave with a different perspective on life, strength and what it is to be a true hero. Andrea Scott, NYC

I felt like I was there that day. I can't believe it will be 10 years already, seems like it happened yesterday.

Small museum with a huge impact

This was one of our first times in NYC, and the museum was hard to find. The sign wasn't placed out front until the time the tour started. The museum staff explained that this is the biggest little museum, and they were correct. The museum lets you really feel what it was like in NYC on 9/11, and you have the chance to look at various artifacts and photos of the day. It was a very touching place and gave us a better understanding of the events that took place on that day. We appreciate the opportunity to view the photos, and artifacts and we walked away changed forever. Thank you.

It's too small and the building is not finished yet. Poor A/C

Basically the presentation was video and audio. It was generally a self guided tour. Some of the tour artifacts were interesting but... I wanted someone to talk to our group not conduct the tour myself.

Surprisingly, Amazing Experience!

I didn't know what this experience was actually going to be like before we arrived in NYC. When you think of museums, you think of a big building. My friend wanted to go to this because he is into anything 9/11. We were a little worried when we arrived at the unmarked building, but once we arrived at the room, all worries about that fades there. AMAZING! It wasn't just a visit to a museum, it was an experience. I finally felt a connection to 9/11 other than I lived during this event in history. You could tell the staff are extremely knowledgable on the suject and are extremely respectful of this disaster and families invovled. It was a very intimate setting on purpose. Just a great experience. I think we spent more than 2 hours there. I would suggest to anyone who knows everything about 9/11 or those like myself who didn't to make this stop in NYC! Thank you!

This museum is small but gives you big information and artifacts pertaining to the recovery period after 9/11. The artifacts may be held and viewed. The pictures are deeply moving and inspiring.

Definitely a good experience

The museum was small and intimate. Didn't have to walk all over the place to look at things. Lots of stories and interesting artifacts I hadn't heard or seen before. My 35 yr old son and 16 yr old granddaughter didn't want to go - said they had seen enough about 9/11 but they enjoyed it. Didn't have to spend hours there to see and hear what you needed to. Definitely worth it. Kathy keys

Connects you with the Healing process
Sat, Jul 2, 11   1:00 PM Teemarchok2 Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This was an amazing journey into the aftermath and recovery process of 9/11. It was handled with dignity and respect. I brought my 10 y/o son and he learned so much - quite appropriate for that age group and older. I loved that the guide said at the beginning, that we would some some video footage but we would not see planes hitting the towers because that would not promote healing. I learned so much about the amazing people involved in this tragedy. Manon did an excellent job with photodocumenting this recovery process and the audio tour gave us a vehicle for connecting that added richness and understanding to this experience. Teresa M from CA

My friends, our children, and I were truly moved by this experience. There were so many artifacts and personal stories in this one location that I could have stayed all day. Even my 13 year old son was completely immersed in this special collection. Evryone should visit this shrine of remembrance.
