Important piece of history

I went to the museum with my 20+ daughter and my 30+ niece while visiting NYC. My daughter was in her early teens when 9/11 happened and did not have any lasting memories of it. She said this photo exhibit really brought this moment in history home to her. As we were leaving the museum, I could see on my daughter's and niece's faces as well as their seeing on my face how profoundly and deeply touched we all were. If you visit NYC, this museum should be at the top of your list. It is a must see.

interesting and touching remembrance of 9/11

This is, as advertised, a small museum but my wife, son (10) and I spent almost the full two hours of our tour, listening to the many audio recordings explaining the photographs and 9/11 artifacts. It is very well done, and well worth the time and money.

Phenomenal Experience

having worked in the WTC for many years, i didn't know how i was going to react to the musuem workshop and i also didn't know if my 10 year old son would be engaged. it was absolutely an amazing healing experience for both of us. Gary Suson's work is a living tribute to those that lost their lives and the people that tirelessly worked to save those that they could. the intimacy of the environment lends itself to this experience being a shared energy with the small group of attendees, however, you also have the ability to be completely alone in your own experience as needed. if you haven't been - you need to go - if you have, you need to go back. we will return.

In Memoriam

A moving and poignant memorial to 9/11 which manages to address a delicate subject with both sensitivity and sincerity, Gary Marlon Suson's outstanding photos and exhibit capture vividly the humanity and courage of those closest to Ground Zero. Proceeds are shared with charities established to support families affected by 9/11 and photos were collated with official FDNY approval. Never to be forgotten.

Surprisingly, Amazing Experience!

I didn't know what this experience was actually going to be like before we arrived in NYC. When you think of museums, you think of a big building. My friend wanted to go to this because he is into anything 9/11. We were a little worried when we arrived at the unmarked building, but once we arrived at the room, all worries about that fades there. AMAZING! It wasn't just a visit to a museum, it was an experience. I finally felt a connection to 9/11 other than I lived during this event in history. You could tell the staff are extremely knowledgable on the suject and are extremely respectful of this disaster and families invovled. It was a very intimate setting on purpose. Just a great experience. I think we spent more than 2 hours there. I would suggest to anyone who knows everything about 9/11 or those like myself who didn't to make this stop in NYC! Thank you!

A "Don't Miss"!

This is a moving reminder of the 911 tragedy. The museum has managed to accurately yet sensitively document the recovery process through photos and artifacts recovered. It pays respect to those who died, those who lost loved ones, and to firefighters, police and others involved in the clean-up and recovery. Though the museum is compact, you won't be disappointed. I believe this is a "must-see" for all interested in visiting Ground Zero.

Best Way to "See" Ground Zero
Tue, Aug 5, 08   1:00 PM jpeelgren Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This is such a phenomenal exhibit of photos and artifacts. It was the most moving exhibit I have ever seen. The way the photos are depicted and the audio stories that go with each one allows you to feel like you were at Ground Zero participating in the recovery efforts. The exhibit is well presented, demonstrating a significant amount of dignity and respect for the events of 9/11 as well as the recovery efforts in the months following. Mr. Suson, the photographer presenting this exhibit is extremely talented, indeed. However, the characteristic that I most appreciated was his passion and reverance for event he was filming. I believe this is a "must see" for any one traveling to NYC who wants to "see" Ground Zero. It is a beautiful way of letting children experience this... even if they were not born when the 9/11 events happened.

Impressive

We visited the museum 28th December. We were surprised that it was not in the neighbourhood of Ground Zero, still it was easy to find. It was an impressive experience. The museum, just one room, with all kinds of features was very informative. The introduction of mr. Suson was very clear and he gave his information very respectfully to the victims. The video showed an impression of the days after..... and afterwards you could ask questions. Also the self guided 'radio's were very helfpful to experience the what happened at Ground Zero. Lot's of compliments, but one recommendation, don't enlarge the museum too much. To be small makes it very personal. Thanks and lot's of succes in future. Fam. de Rooij, The Netherlands
