I thought that there should have been a larger area with more items on display and not mostly pictures. We could look at pics on TV. Also, the entry to the building was a little disappointing. At first we thought we had been ripped off when we saw it. It honored the firefighters but not the people who were in the building. |

I had read the other reviews about how small the museum was, but was still amazed that we spent close to 2 hrs. in there w/ 2 teenage boys. It was all so tastefully done-moving stories and pictures that actually gave me peace amidst all of the violence and destruction. Loved that Mr. Susson focused on the hope, brotherhood, and recovery efforts of the heroic men & women. Would defintely recommend to others! |

It was great the day. When we were there Gary was there also. He gave his first hand account of the event. It truly might be the smallest museum with a big impact. When I went up stairs to the room, I thought it was small and we would be done in 20 min. It look us the total 2-hours and we could have spent more time there.
The photo's are a snot shot our our history. Very well done without dwelling of the horror of the day. A great tribute to the FDNY. Each exhibit/photograph is accompanied by a number and the explanation of it is then able to be heard in the recorded audio guide provided. You can go at your own pace. You can rest your feet and sit on one of the chairs and listen to the audio while you view the photos.
I went with my 12 year old son. It helped him understand the event in our history without scaring him.
Some of the money raised from this go towards some of the 911 victims.
A must see. Thanks Gary great job! |

The museum was powerful and touching. The pictures in themselves are amazing, but coupled with the personal stories are incredible. It allowed us a look into the life of someone who really experienced tragedy and gave a completely different and unparalleled view point that we will forever remember. We would recommend this to anyone traveling to New York. |

I attended this workshop with 5 teens, ages 15-19. All but one (15 yr old boy) really responded well and got a lot out of the experience. I liked the focus on the ordinary heroes among us who sacrificed so much in the aftermath of 9/11. I think we too often focus on the actual event. We left with a feeling of reverence and gratitude. Not your typical New York experience, but definately worth the time and money. |

My wife and I came away from this museum with a much greater knowledge and appreciation for what the rescue workers and citizens of New York City went through
in dealing with the aftermath of those senseless terrorist attacks on Sept.11th. The audio tour was excellent. Listening to the narrative while staring at the picture it pertained to was moving to say the least. I think everyone world wide is well versed
in what happened during the first two hours of the attacks on the Trade Center. It is what transpired during the following two years that very few people know much about. After visiting this museum you will have a better understanding of the sacrifice and perserverance the people of this great city displayed to rise up from the rubble of those two collapsed towers. Also for anyone making their first trip to New York and
having a hard time comprehending what once stood at the World Trade Center site.
This museum will allow you to look at and actually touch numerous artifacts from the towers themselves which makes this a fascinating tour. |
