Most Important Museum In the World for Families

Let me tell you what the museum is not about. It is not about terrorism. It is not about nationalities. It is not about religion (although it may be about faith). It is an artistic, quiet, thoughtful place that's about grieving and loss. My pre-teen daughter, who has never appreciated any other museum, learnt things that day that a parent hopes and hopes he can teach their children. And yet, it was not a downer. There are very few places that show how fathers love their sons. This is it. You won't be sorry.

The Highlight of our Day Trip in NY City

We were hesitant to add this item to our itinerary with such a steep price tag for a family of four, but it was worth every penny (and it helps to know the proceeds go to designated 9/11 charities). We found the entire experience appropriate for our school-aged kids. Unless you knew a victim of 9/11 personally, we suggest seeing Ground Zero first because the reverse is anti-climatic.

Small room full of artifacts and photos...

This "museum workshop" is actually a small room full of artifacts and photos from 911. It is called a "workshop" becuase you get to touch a small number of the artifacts. Each photo has a brief voice narrative avaliable that was made by the photographer. I would call this attraction a small 911 artifact collection. Calling this place a "workshop" or a "museum" is a stretch. This attraction is not a scam but the name and title are misleading. You get a five minute intro and the rest is up to you!

thought the museum was a way to bring what really happened on 9/11 to true reality when you see the pictures and artifacts you start to understand the true loss and devistation. well worth a visit,do this first then pay your respects at the memorial site.

A moving museum

Our family visited this museum (our daughter is 16) in July 2012. We were on vacation in NYC and planned to go to the memorial later that day. Personally I don't think the museum is appropriate for very young children. It is a very heavy subject, we all had tears in our eyes at some point. That said, I highly recommend this museum. Seeing the photos of the men and women working to recover this area can't help but make you proud that they are your fellow citizens. Great boutique museum, tastefully and carefully put together.

I live in NYC. My family from Ohio came to the city with their 12-year-old grandson. An unforgettable experience for all.

So well worth the time and money

I stumbled on this Museum online and am so glad we went there. I have visited the 911 sight twice before. The displays and photos in this museum made it all so real and showed the horrendous human loss and the horrible devestation of this evil act. It also showed the bravery of all the men and women who selflessly risk their lives every day to keep us safe and protect our freedoms. This museum is well worth the time and money. It was some of the smallest things that were so meaningful and these displays were very well thought out and very well staged. God Bless America!!

Interesting and informative

This museum provides context and information that really helped me understand what Sept 11 and the clean up was like for those involved. They did a nice job of providing the information without sensationalizing it.

MUST DO IN NYC!

My family started at the 911 Memorial. We toured the park in awe. Such a treat to see such beauty out of the ruins I had seen on our last trip to NYC. I was so happy to experience the park that day. Off to the Museum next....What a wonderful surprise. Such a small room packed with more memories than one could imagine. 2 Hours, was not enough time to go through, experience all the sites and sounds offered in this display. It was touching. I laughed and I cried. I HIGHLY recommend this little museum to all travelers who come to see the 911 Memorial. This was the icing on the cake. Hats off to Mr Suson...this trip will remain a standout in my memories. Thank you for what you do. God bless and I pray all good things for future endeavors.
