NYC Must do

Although we love to have plenty of fun on holidays a visit to the Ground Zero Museum Workshop is a must. It is quiet small but the experience is enormous. Here you really do begin to understand the true impact of 9/11 and the resilience of the survivors. It touched us all and the museum workshop shows a more personal side to the tragedy in a tasteful, informative and factual manner. Well done to Garry and the staff.

A very impressive, hard and beautifull tour. We all saw the the planes flying into the twin towers, the movies, but what happened afterward, what you showed (in a very respectful, not dramatic way) in the tour means understanding what the people involves had to go through. I'm glad we had the change to see all that. It's a part of NYC, which need to be told. thanks

Picture gallery, not museum workshop
Mon, Apr 27  12:00 PM Sarah5830 Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The place is a great little space, very intimate, which is the effect wanted by the owner, but at times it felt more like a gallery of his work, than a true museum of 9/11. The pictures are great, but it's the commentary attached to some of the photos which seem a bit incongruous at times. There's a great picture with the Americaln flag, but the talkover concentrates on how he got the picture 'just right', instead of the meaning of the photo. Maybe some pictures don't need dialogue attached to them. As a whole though, it's an interesting place to visit and it did give me more of an insight into the events surrounding that dreadful day.

A must see

I think this museum is a must see for any visitor to New York. I thought the museum was very tastefully done, and the audio descriptions of the photos and artefacts were very informative and interesting. It raised angles of this event that I had never considered before. The tours only allow a few people in the museum at any one time and I think this provides the space required to absorb all the information. Well worth the money.

Excellent

We arrived two and half hours early to make sure we knew of location and guide was at door waiting for the earlier tour. She was very friendly and helpful and accommodated our request to do the tour early. The museum is very small and on arrival it feels like it is too small. However, this ensures that you can see all exhibits for as long as you wish and have ample time to listen to the thought provoking commentary by Mr Suson. It helps non New Yorkers to imagine what the site was like and the devastation caused to all those involved. This is achieved by a very well thought out exhibition. The museum being a small area with a homely feel ensures that those grieving would feel comfortable. Best to do this workshop before walking down to the WTC site. We looked at the other museum next to Ground Zero but found it was much too crowded to view properly. Highly recommended!!!!!

extremely moving

We found this to be an extremely moving exhibition of photographs and artifacts, and as it is completely different from the Tribute centre it is well worth visiting both. To illustrate it's relevance across the age groups, my 20 year old son describes it as the highlight of his New York visit. I would thoroughly recommend this tour.

A fantastic perspective to look at the horrific events that unfolded September 2001. The team and Gary have really set a good emotional healing haven and really does open your eyes to the reality of what occurred that day and the days after it.
