A must see if you are in New York

Well worth the money and time if you are in New York City. The museum was not what I expected in a physical sense, it is in a smaller room, and the number of people are limited, so book early to save a spot. The room is surrounded by Suson's photographs of the recovery, each with individual stories or experiences narrated by Gary Suson. The stories and photographs depicting the aftermath of this disaster were very moving. There is a short video presentation in the beginning and then some hands on exhibits and stories. The rest of the time is spent listening to numerous stories and experiences during the months of the recovery operation. This was very nice because you could go at your own pace and listen to as much as you wanted, as many times as you wanted. I would suggest going to this museum first before heading down to ground zero, the Subway is short walk after the Museum tour and it takes you right to Ground Zero. A moving experience...NEVER FORGET

This museum exceeded my expectations, and I would like to bring both of my older two children back to the museum to experience it, as it is suitable for individuals of all ages. It is a perfect prelude to visiting the Memorial Site, which is what we did immediately after attending the museum. I particularly liked that the museum is somewhat self-guided in that you wear headphones, can move/listen at your own pace, and get to hear Gary Suson narrate. I applaud Mr. Suson's efforts to keep the memories of 911 alive, and appreciated how he was able emphasize the good in humanity that came out of such devastation.

My sister (age 39) and daughter (age 19) also thought this was the best part of our trip to NYC. The museum is thoughtful and respectful. I felt like the experience seemed therapeutic. Gary is an awesome photographer and narrator. I bought his book and although it is a horrible event, the book is written and put together beautifully. Gary is also a really nice guy. Lou, our tour guide, was fantastic as well. I honestly can say nothing negative about my experience. I am telling anybody who will listen to me that if they travel to NYC, to definitely check it out!

The staff was very nice, pictures and stories behind them were very good. The artifacts were all in a single room, don't know if it was worth the price, but was good to see.

Small but Tasteful

The Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour was a very small and personal memorial of that fateful day of 9/11. I was able to see photos and listen to commentary documenting 9/11. The workshop provided Inside stories of our great loss, bravery and recovery/rebuilding. 9/11, an action by terrorists that was meant to bring down Americans that only caused our country to rise together in strength in brotherhood. God bless America!

The Ground Zero Museum was Awesome

I was fortunate enough to spend 4 days in New York this summer (2006) and had the opportunity to tour the museum, and I was totally amazed at the amount of effort that went into putting together this museum, the tasteful way that he displayed the portraits was awesome. I am an EMT in Washington and spent almost 2 1/2 hours talking with them and listening to the emotional stories that they told in reference to the picture that were displayed in the museum recounting this horrible day and what those families went through. I have since then, told everyone I know and especially anyone that I know will be going to New York, to make sure that they spend some time at the museum, cause they will be absolutely amazed at the outstanding job that was done with this museum.

My boyfriend, whom I took to the museum workshop for his birthday, is a volunteer fire fighter in Warren County, NJ. He loved it and couldn't believe how much thought and effort went into making such a meaningful place. I loved it as well, and I thought the entire event was very tastefully done with respect for the victims, their families, and all those who helped in the recovery. I would absolutely reccomend this to anyone, even if they are not connected to the events of 9/11 in anyway.

The tasteful and sensitive manner in which Gary and his team describe and deal with the aftermath of 911 at Ground Zero is very moving. Even our young children (7 & 9) were so completely captivated by the photographs and artifacts and the stories behind them. One of the most moving experiences I have had. It captures it all!
