The many photographs give you a sense of what the recovery process entailed during the aftermath of 9/11. Particularly poignant were the photos of the retired firemen who had lost their sons in the tragedy. |

I actually live here in NY and my cousin was visiting from Germany and she actually found out about the museum on the internet. I had heard nothing about it. My brother is fireman and was involved with 911 and thankfully one of the fortunate ones. My heart goes out to all those families and you have done a wonderful job in displaying some of the stories so that we'll always remember those who have passed but never forget the tragedy . Thank you for enlightening me and making me remember all the good that came from that terrible evil.

This musuem is one room with photographs and some ground zero artifacts. Everyone is given headphones with a pre-recorded guide for each picture/group of artifacts. The pictures are mostly of the aftermath/clean-up of 9-11. Very thought provoking images and some you will have seen before. The pre-recorded guide is interesting in that it describes the picture and then usually gives information about what was going on in the picture and the name of the people in the picture. When I first went in, I thought one room? What's up with that? But there is about 100 items to listen to/ look at. This exhibit really is about telling the story of the people affected by 9-11. I think it is worth the visit and definitely worth the price. It is also capped at 25 people (I think) so there is not a mob in there pushing to see everything. The owner has his book and pics for sales. He came in about halfway through our visit and was delighted to sign books, pictures, have his picture taken with anyone and talk about his photos. This is not an exhibit about the mechanics of the attack. For example, there is no map showing the positions of the building or where the planes hit and that kind of thing. I would recommend it if you are interested in the human side of what happened. |

This museum was a place where you truly felt connected to 9/11. Well worth the trip. We liked how personal the experience was. Definitely an emotional journey but one that we'd definitely recommend. |

THIS MUSEUM IS A TRUE TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO PERISHED ON 9/11. IT IS SO HARD TO FIND THIS SORT OF DETAIL AND INSIGHT ANYWHERE. THE MUSEUM IS IN A VERY INTIMATE, QUIET SETTING AND IT IS IN THIS SETTING THAT YOU CAN REFLECT ON THE EVENTS OF 9/11. WE BROUGHT OUR CHILDREN, AGES 8 AND 11, BECAUSE WE WANTED THEM TO GET SOME IDEA OF THE TRAGEDY OF THAT FATEFUL DAY AS THEY WERE BOTH SO YOUNG WHEN THE ACTUAL TRAGEDY OCCURED. THERE IS NO BETTER WAY THAN THIS MUSEUM FOR THAT PURPOSE. THERE IS NO OTHER PLACE IN NEW YORK THAT YOU WILL FIND ACTUAL PIECES OF THE GLASS AND STEEL FROM THE TWIN TOWERS AND ACTUALLY GET TO TOUCH SOME OF THE GLASS. EACH PHOTOGRAPH IN THE MUSEUM HAS A STORY BEHIND IT THAT YOU GET TO LISTEN TO. ON MOST DAYS, THE PHOTOGRAPHER THAT TOOK THE PHOTOS IS THERE, SO YOU CAN ALSO TALK TO HIM. IT WAS A TRULY AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! DO NOT MISS IT!!! |

My family (husband, myself,19 year old, and 15 year old twins) thought this was one of the best experiences of our trip to New York City. We are from North Carolina, and did not have any close personal connections to anyone in the city when the horrific events of 9/11 occurred. The only exposure that we had was through the media, which tended to focus on the planes crashing into the towers. This intimate museum experience puts names and faces to victims and their loved ones who were left to mourn their loss. I had to choke back tears as we listened to actual radio transmissions during the tragedy. To actually be able to hold pieces of steel and glass from the fallen towers made a lasting impression. We should never forget those who lost their lives on a day when terrorists struck our country. This museum experience was incredible. Kudoes to Gary Susson and the staff for sharing this experience with us!!!

We were very disappointed with this workshop. This was nothing but a taped showed that aired on natural TV in an apartment. We also had the impression that we were to be taken to Ground Zero site as a part of the tour but was not.
Do not recommend this. May as well have gone to Ground Zero on your own and watch a rerun on the footage of the aftermath of 911. |

As a native New Yorker, there was no better understanding of exactly what happened at ground zero than to attend this museum. Please take the time out of your trip to New York to visit. You will not regret it. |
