I would recommend this museum to everyone. It really gives you an idea of the the recovery process was like. How hard they worked and the grief that these people suffered. If you do not understand how bad terrisom can be visit this workshop.

Extremely emotional experience but really added to the entire Ground Zero (9/11) visit for tourists from out of state. Would recommend to anyone visiting Ground Zero or who have never visited this museum. Excellent presentation of recovery items and entire recovery effort. Put a very real and personal touch on everything. Very well done...impressive. Worth every penny. Also glad to visit the Meat Packing district for this specific experience while on a hectic "tour" of major sites in Manhattan. Excellent people watching, designer stores across the street etc .

We were immensley impressed with the musuem and the work that Gary has put into it. We have told everyone back home about it and have some friends who have booked onto a tour next month when they come out to New York. Everyone who visits New York and Ground Zero should visit this workshop.

Weigh the cost

Everything costs more in New York, and this is no exception. If you don't mind spending $25 per person, then do go. It was just a bit heavy on the budget bringing a group of church youth and spending almost $400 for the experience. The stories behind the pictures were moving, however. I do wish I had bought a book.

Not sure if or how you could do this but,,,could you recommend certain photos and comentaries with a red star or something. Our guide made suggestions but by the time I got to viewing the photos I couldn't remember which they were. It was too wonderful to miss anything.

A little difficult to find , took a taxi, thought we were in the wrong place at first. We were greeted outside and then proceeded into the building upstairs where we were given headsets to listen to. This museum is just one small room with small stools and a couple of comfy couches. We watched a couple of clips on a tv and then given items to hold and touch. We then were instructed to view each of the pictures and items by punching in the number that corresponded with each item. The headset was pre-loaded with all the information for each of the pictures. I have to admit it was a very emotional place, it brought tears to my eyes. When 9 - 11 happened it was hard to beleive if you were not there. This museum makes you understand exactly what the people of New York went through, it's hard to believe that something like this could happen. It was well worth the money, and its something that you will not forget, it brings you closer to the people that were in the building and all that lost theirs lives. There was alot of information that I didn't know about the disaster. We went with two teenage boys and they found it touching. I wouldn't recommend taking small children, as it takes at least 2 hours to go through and the items are not to be touched or picked up.

It was an amazing and moving experience. I really think that all tourists travelling to New York should visit this museum. To be up close and personal with these artifacts and the photos was a truely special experience. To also have the opportunity to speak to a fire fighter that was there on the day of Sept 11 was something that I will never forget.
