This was a very moving experience. Suson is a wonderful and caring person and this is so clear in his photography. Intimate and informal setting but so meaningful. I highly recommend it.

We cannot explain how we both felt during a visit to this museum. The information available, the artefacts you can see, feel, touch is absolutely true and amazing. It makes you think and feel for all involved on 9/11. Although we have no connection or knew anybody or lost their life or from the rescue of it all, we felt part of it, which was comforting. I would highly recommend a visit to the musuem. The audio tour was very informative and personal as you could absorb the information given by yourself with peace and quite and truly have some kind of idea of what these people went through. We were very lucky and to have personally met the official photographer Gary Marlon Suson.

The GZ Museum Workshop was an awesome experience. It was a very unique way to remember and pay tribute to the heros of 9/11. The interactive experience was unlike most other museums. We could take as much time as we liked listening to the stories and asking questions of the artist/photographer, Gary. It was an intimate setting which made it a very personal experience. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone. We will never forget the events of that day in history.

This tour is very nice because you get to go at your own pace. You get an overall introduction, but then are able to explore the pictures that you want to learn more about and in the order that you wish. We were able to meet the photographer and that really did provide a strong connection and insight into what he was thinking when he shot some of the pictures. It was also nice that the environment was intimate. Our children were able to "listen" at their own pace too and perhaps grasp more than we anticipated. We are glad we found this place and experienced it during our stay in the city. It truly was a highlight. Virginia tourists

If anyone professes to be a lover of New York, then you must see this. I have been traveling to New York as a tourist for the last 25 years. This museum is by far the most meaningful that I have ever visited. It is a bittersweet pictoral storytelling of the fall of the World Trade Center Twin Towers. Mr. Suson certainly captured the heart of all those who lovingly contributed to the recovery, as well as those who sadly were thrown into the chaos, not by choice. The love that poured through all these efforts is very evident. It was a special privalege to meet to Mr. Suson. We were able to ask him questions about his past, and what lead up to the World Trade center tragedy for him. We were able to ask how he is now and and how this whole experience has changed his life to date. Finally we asked him about his future, and what lies ahead for him. The entire workshop was meaningful to me as a person and as an American. Please go see this!! It will make you proud to be an American. We must never forget !!!

I would [and have] enthusastically recommend the Ground Zero Museum to anyone interested in the recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site after 9/11. Mr. Suson's photographs and moving narration offer a truly up-close-and-personal glimpse into the harrowing and heroic efforts of all the people who risked their own lives to ensure that as many victims as possible could be recovered and returned to their families for proper burials. Stories of the K-9 units, the PATH trains and the Band of Fathers were details that were somehow missed by the 'media', but captured by Gary in intimate and fascinating detail. We were blessed to have the photographer appear halfway thru our tour and he graciously answered questions, thanked us for coming and further explained some of the stories behind the photos. Truly an experience not to be missed if you're traveling to NYC!!

Better than we imagined

The impact of this exhibit will stay with us forever. We were at first hesitant that this would not be worthy of our time on a trip to NYC but my husband, 16 year old son, and myself came away thinking this might have been the best stop we made in our 4 day trip to NYC. The personal stories brought home the devastation of this event and put real people and a real place to history. This will never be something that happened in another city, to other people, after seeing these photos and hearing their stories. Thank you for representing this tragedy with respect.

It was a nice experience, but it wasnt worth what was charged. It was ok though because the money went to the ground zero fund.

A Respectful Compassionate Side of New York

I have traveled all over the world and have never had an experience like the one at the Ground Zero Museum Workshop. The photographs and artifacts, along with the narration, gave me a real feel for the for the whole aftermath of 9/ll. Everything was done with respect for all the families involved, compassion and, I think, even love for for all of the rescue workers. I enjoyed the use of individual headsets which let me listen with distractions and be in touch with my own thoughts. Many times I played the narration more than once to clarify something I didn't understand, but also because so many of the stories were so amazing that they were hard to believe the first time through. So much of New York City is hustle bustle - people passing each other without even a glance. This small museum is quiet, intimate, heartbreaking and uplifting all at the same time. I highly recommend it to everyone visiting NYC. See Ground Zero and then head up to this quiet little retreat. You won't be disappointed.
