You enter this museum located in the Meat Packing District and it is so small you think how could you be there for more than 15 minutes. Then you view the 2 videos and look around the room and stay for 2 1/2 hours. When you enter the musem you receive headphones and each picture/object/artifact has a number next to it. Then you hear the story of each piece that has been carefully selected and displayed. The photos put a face on each person who died, each family that was effected, the enormous effort that was made to recover everything with dignity (be it a person or an ordinary object) and the toll it took on the lives of every person (and dog) involved in the recovery effort. We were lucky enough to meet Gary (the photographer) and he told us his story and how the museum came to be and how he was selected to be the only photographer allowed into the site by the NYC Fire Dept. I recommend this museum for children as well as adults. 9/11 was a day that changed the way we look at America and we should honor the memory of those who were murdered and those who saved them. Please visit this museum - the proceeds benefit the families of the victims and other charities.

This workshop museum was one of the highlights of our trip to NYC. When I made the reservation I did so because I wanted to learn more about what the Ground Zero workers and families experienced, and had a feeling I would walk away with even a greater appreciation for their services. I was not disappointed in any way. I was also prepared for a strong negative emotional experience due to the nature of the presentation, but this workshop is very tastefully done and it was uplifting. It allows for a more personal experience, unlike a typical museum. You also see things that have not been presented through the press. I didn't think I could have a greater appreciation for the firemen, police, community volunteers, etc., but after visiting this museum I do. I feel this is a "must do" if you live in or visit NYC. They don't allow many people in at one time, which makes the visit even more special. Thank you Gary Marlon Suson for putting together such a touching experience so that we will never forget what happened that day. Please know that we all appreciate what you had to go through to bring us this wonderful presentation. One thing - make sure you have good directions and make reservations in advance. We almost thought we were on the wrong street in Chelsea. We even asked merchants around it and they didn't know which direction to send us in. Have the address handy when you get to the street. We went to La Bergamote (a French pastry shop around the corner that was recommended) before hand and I highly recommend that. We then walked south to Greenwich Village, SoHo, etc. for the remainder of the day.

A very moving tribute to the recovery efforts of 9/11. The pictures and the stories capture the rollercoaster and raw emotions felt, not only by those close to the victims, but also by those of us who witnessed it on TV. Gary's pictures and stories bring you -- hope, pride, pain and sadness, and even though you walk out teary-eyed, you are so happy you spent 2 hours there. I felt privileged to have been able to see this exhibit.

Photographer Suson captured the details of emotions and events after 911 in a very tasteful and moving display of pictures, artifacts, video and audio of the recovery of the WTC site. It is a one room museum with more information and photos than any multiple room museum could hope for. The audio of each picture, which there are many, is narrated by Mr. Suson who shoot every photo and gives you the feel of viewing the picture at the exact moment it was shot. This is a must see in New York to remind everyone that America and her spirit is strong and here to stay! Mr. Suson, Thank you for taking this emotional journey to catalog this journey for everyone who could not be there in person.

It is billed as the biggest little museum in the world and that's an understatement. The most humbling, emotional museum I have ever visited.

I would recommend everyone experience this museum workshop tour...it is as important as visiting the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park or the Met in New York City and clearly presents insight to yet another chapter of American History. The tour was well presented and sobering-very profound. I cried at the personal stories, bravery and tragedy. We must always remember...

I highly recommend visiting the museum. While it is a sobering reminder of that day in 2001 when so many lives were lost, it leaves you with a great feeling of pride and appreciation for the sacrifices that were made in an effort to heal America after this tragedy. My heart goes out to all who lost loved ones and my thanks to those who participated in the recovery of both those lost and our nation.

This is the second time that I have been here in a year. I first took my 17-year old son and then my 20-year old daughter. They were both amazed. This exhibit should definitely be a must-see for any visitor to NYC. Anyone who visits will NEVER forget 9/11 and the many victims. A very touching and emotional tribute to everyone that was affected.

| Really enjoyed our 2 hours at the workshop. The whole session was very well presented and you were able to take your time listening to all the commentry. It was good to get some background before the session started and this was a good ice breaker.
I've already recommended the worskhop to friends back here in Edinburgh. |
