Rating: 5 Little but important tour that shouldn't be missed

This is a rather obscure little mesuem that should be on every tourist's map who visited New York. It is not found on the NY pass or NYC city pass but those who found this tour will be greatly reward with an insightful look into the recovery work at ground zero. It was rather emotional tour and many participants weeped just minutes into the presenatation. If you value freedom & humanity, this tour is an absolute must.

Absolutely a one of a kind experience. Little nervous at first because the room was so small, but spent two and a half hours mesmorized by these photographs. Very well done and presented in a way that really draws you in. A must see! Shirley and Elizabeth

The whole time spend was enjoyable, the guide was knowledgable and pleasant. The way the display is set up is excellant, and the photographs are fantastic. The only negative was the guide mentioned' I spoke to Gary Suson a few minutes ago and he is likely to call in and spend some time with you today' obviously Gary did not appear, i think this is a common comment and one which came across as a 'tourist pleasing ploy'. If it was likley I apologise however I doubt it very much, therefore why put it into the guides commentary. More photos signed by Gary Suson would have been preferred, a signed book and i would have made a purchase but there were non. Roger Groves

If anyone professes to be a lover of New York, then you must see this. I have been traveling to New York as a tourist for the last 25 years. This museum is by far the most meaningful that I have ever visited. It is a bittersweet pictoral storytelling of the fall of the World Trade Center Twin Towers. Mr. Suson certainly captured the heart of all those who lovingly contributed to the recovery, as well as those who sadly were thrown into the chaos, not by choice. The love that poured through all these efforts is very evident. It was a special privalege to meet to Mr. Suson. We were able to ask him questions about his past, and what lead up to the World Trade center tragedy for him. We were able to ask how he is now and and how this whole experience has changed his life to date. Finally we asked him about his future, and what lies ahead for him. The entire workshop was meaningful to me as a person and as an American. Please go see this!! It will make you proud to be an American. We must never forget !!!

I would [and have] enthusastically recommend the Ground Zero Museum to anyone interested in the recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site after 9/11. Mr. Suson's photographs and moving narration offer a truly up-close-and-personal glimpse into the harrowing and heroic efforts of all the people who risked their own lives to ensure that as many victims as possible could be recovered and returned to their families for proper burials. Stories of the K-9 units, the PATH trains and the Band of Fathers were details that were somehow missed by the 'media', but captured by Gary in intimate and fascinating detail. We were blessed to have the photographer appear halfway thru our tour and he graciously answered questions, thanked us for coming and further explained some of the stories behind the photos. Truly an experience not to be missed if you're traveling to NYC!!

The impact of this exhibit will stay with us forever. We were at first hesitant that this would not be worthy of our time on a trip to NYC but my husband, 16 year old son, and myself came away thinking this might have been the best stop we made in our 4 day trip to NYC. The personal stories brought home the devastation of this event and put real people and a real place to history. This will never be something that happened in another city, to other people, after seeing these photos and hearing their stories. Thank you for representing this tragedy with respect.

It was a nice experience, but it wasnt worth what was charged. It was ok though because the money went to the ground zero fund.

It was the smallest but one of the most intense and insightful exhibitions that I ever visited - highly recommended.

The intimacy of the setting created a feeling that you had walked right into the living room of someone's life. It was peaceful, but at the same time a painful reminder of that period in our lives. It was private, and very moving. Although photographs were allowed to be taken, it felt as if one should not. It was that personal of a voyage for the two of us that attended the workshop.

I have traveled all over the world and have never had an experience like the one at the Ground Zero Museum Workshop. The photographs and artifacts, along with the narration, gave me a real feel for the for the whole aftermath of 9/ll. Everything was done with respect for all the families involved, compassion and, I think, even love for for all of the rescue workers. I enjoyed the use of individual headsets which let me listen with distractions and be in touch with my own thoughts. Many times I played the narration more than once to clarify something I didn't understand, but also because so many of the stories were so amazing that they were hard to believe the first time through. So much of New York City is hustle bustle - people passing each other without even a glance. This small museum is quiet, intimate, heartbreaking and uplifting all at the same time. I highly recommend it to everyone visiting NYC. See Ground Zero and then head up to this quiet little retreat. You won't be disappointed.
