Excellent presentation of 9-11 events. The narrations you can listen to while looking at pictures and objects creates a very big impact. Children under 10 will most likely become restless before adults have had a chance to view the entire exhibit but a must see if you are intrested in the effect this incident had on humans living and visiting New York on that tragic day

This museum gave you an in depth understanding of the aftermath of this horrific event in our history. Though the museum is small, it allows privacy and an intimacy with the artifacts, pictures, and feelings of those who participated in the search for their own loved ones and the other victims. The pictures by Gary Suson were able to show the true magnitude of the recovery effort and the impossible odds the rescuers faced in the aftermath of this tragedy. I was truly moved, and will never forget.

Myself and My 21 year old son thought that this was the best part of our 5 day trip. We felt visiting New York it was important to acknowledge what happened that day but without the usual touristy, false, money making ways. This museum is authentic and helps provide support to families involved. What made the day special was to visit the museum first and then go to St. Pauls church to get the real picture of the rescue process. If you only do one thing, this is a must.

A great deal has been published about the events of 9/11 but the museum concentrates on the aftermath and the search for victims of the attack. It is good to be able to see and touch some artifacts from the site and it does bring alive what the site was like after the attack and the sheer scale of the recovery and salvage operation. My one criticism is that it does tend to concentrate more on the effects of the attack on the fire and police services and not much information on the thousands of civilians affected and I feel that an area could be given over to some rememberance of others who died that day.

Having visited the actual Ground Zero during a previous trip, we decided to visit Mr Suson's museum on this trip. No one can possibly forget the horrendous footage broadcast internationally by the various TV stations around the world, and Mr Suson has captured many images that will forever "freeze" the moments he portrays. Apart from being both stark and moving, each image has a commentary that describes how he came to capture it and what it symbolises. The museum also contains many artefacts from the site of the atrocity, including a piece of window glass from somewhere near the top of one of the towers. The glass is an incredible 3 inches thick! It would be easy to display all this in a way made to shock, but it is not done like this at all. It is designed to be a memorial and so is calm and factual. Everything in the museum has an impact of some sort but, for me, two photographs and some metalwork had the greatest effect. The two photographs are of the retired fireman father, his police officer son-in-law and other firemen carrying out the retired man's son and the iconic image of the fireman on his knees in a clear attitude of prayer and shock. The metalwork is the crucifix and the Star of David cut from actual girders from the buildings. This museum really is a "must see".

Deeply moving and eye opening. It was interesting to hear the "behind the scenes" stories. They were photographed and commentated on with such respect for those families. Highly recommeded.

| The video, the commentary by the guides (and Gary who was there when we attended) was well done, but the best part was the time spent going through the room with the electronic device that gave the commentary on all the artifacts and the human stories behind each one. Well done Gary et al! What a tribute to those who gave their lives on that fateful day. I bought the book to share with others and it will take a place on my coffee table at our summer home in Rehoboth, Delaware.
Note: Our group was my husband, myself and our 24 year old daughter who now lives in NYC. We all loved it! |

I thoroughly enjoyed coming to the Ground Zero Museum. My boyfriend and I visited the museum from Chicago and neither of us lost anyone personally in the 9/11 tragedy. Being from Chicago we are able to easily push the tragedy out of mind after 9 years. This experience brought us close to what people actually experienced on that day and for months/years after. I think it is very important for individuals of all ages to see the heroic efforts that were put forth in recovery of the WTC. The intimacy of the museum is absolutely appropriate for such a terrible tragedy. In addition, I loved the fact that it was an individual audio tour. Each customer is able to choose what photos to learn more about through the audio tool and can look around at your own pace. Tour guides are present throughout the 2 hours if you have any questions. Overall the museum workshop was a positive experience and I recommend the activity to anyone visiting NYC. It is a very sad and emotional experience though, so be ready to feel a little "down" after the activity. It was an honor for me to be able to get a closer look at the heroism that was shown by hundreds of workers throughout the recovery and I truly learned a lot.

This cozy museum allowed us to become intimately a part of the world of Gary Marlon Suson ( the official photographer at Ground Zero) and the recovery workers at Ground Zero. Before buying our tickets we were assured that it was appropriate for our eight year old daughter as the focus of the images is on the recovery after the attacks on the WTC. The images and video are tasteful, educational and very moving. Our daughter is too young to fully understand what happened on Sept 11, 2001 and we would not want to divulge the details about that terrible day. Attending the museum gave us all insight into the heroic efforts of volunteers and recovery workers. Our daughter was captivated by every thing. The museum is set up in such a way that you can view the photos and items (such as window glass) and listen to the stories behind them at your own pace. We highly recommend this museum if you are visiting New York.!

OK, I have to admit when we arrived at the museum, my first thought was "oh my gosh, I paid this much money for this little museum?" BUT . . . it was awesome and VERY well worth the money. Mr. Suson was actually at the museum the day we went, introduced the museum, and was available to sign his book. He has taken an aw inspiring timeframe in his life (and ours), and made it come to life for each and every person. His work is exceptional, and I would consider myself very critical when it comes to spending my hard earned money. Mr. Suson, you and your staff are doing an excellent job and should be making every person touched personally or otherwise, very proud! GREAT JOB!!!! EXCELLENT WORK!!! SPEND YOUR MONEY TO SEE THIS MUSEUM!! I would/will return for another viewing.
