Very Touching

I appreciate all the work Gary put into creating tghe Ground Zero Museum, and how much he acknowledged the need for God and faith in a disaster of this nature and magnitude. The stories were special and from the heart; they helped us to connect with those that were directly involved in the disaster/recovery. Everything was done in good taste and with the utmost of respect and honor for the grieving families. We are from the West coast, and at the time of the disaster our son was 9 years old. He was very interested in what happened and in details about the twin towers themselves. My husband had scheduled a trip to NYC with our son in 2006, but had to cancel it due to my father's funeral; visiting the museum was a highlight of this trip, especially for our son. We were also very grateful that we had the opportunity to meet Gary and thank him personally.

Wonderful Experience!

The advertisements read right when it says that this workshop is the "Biggest Little Museum" in New York City. I liked how it focused on the recovery efforts and it is hard to leave this place without being touched and having a mark left on your heart. The personal, intimate stories were very touching! My favorite part about the entire experience was that the museum was in a smaller, more intimate space. It had the atmosphere of a cozy living room, which made it feel more at home and comfortable. I also enjoyed being able to physically see some of the artifacts from the tragedy!

Difficulty in finding the address

There is no clear address stated to Ground Zero museum. The instructions say it is near to Subway station with vague directions. It is far in distance than described. It will be good if a small sketch of map is provided on ticket so that visitors can see the map and come instead of calling continuously the museum people.

Moving, but a bit like a school presentation

I loved the pictures and stories behind the photos and items here. I just wasn't a fan of the set up, it was like hearing someone give an opening statement in a trial having to listen to the 2 college students talk at the beginning of the tour. They moved around the room as they spoke about certain pictures, which was not very comfortable as you had to turn around in your seat (opposite of where the TV was) to see what they were pointing out.

Provides a great perspective!

We visited the Ground Zero Museum after reading about it on Tripadvisor. Its a really small museum. At first we felt "Is this it?!" Thankfully by the end the experience makes an impact ! The video at the beginning is a TV interview with Gary, the photographer. Its a good introduction. However the lady introducing and explaining, could use a microphone as the audience at the back of the room can barely hear her. The pictures are nice, but what's best is the hand held audio guide and the description and story behind each picture. It REALLY transports the viewer to those days in 2001. One can truly connect with what the people went through then. Touching ! My young brother (14 yr) really loved the museum. Do make a stop.

My friends & I realy enjoyed the museum workshop. We thought it was very well put together in such a limited space. It was very moving yet also provided a good insite into the events if 911. Out compliments to the organisers. FOR YOUR INFO: Fr Michael Judge, victim of 911, Whose parents hailed from the village of Keshkerrigan, Co. Leitrim, Ireland. Today there is a lakeside garden of rememberence dedicated to Fr Michael Judge and the other victims of 911. The Irish Tricolour Flag flies alongside the Stars & Stripes flag. This lake side oasis is a poignant setting where all victimes of this terrible event are remebered. May Thanks for letting us visit your musuem. Regards, Mary O'Neill, Terry O'Neill, Phil O'Neill & David Shirley.

I've been to NYC 4 times and have seen a lot, but this cannot be compared with anything. It is really a must see! I can't describe how impressive it is. When I'm back in NY I'll go again!
