| I think we were expecting to see many more pictures and many larger pictures.
They take you into this room not larger than the average livingroom - diningroom combination and have you take a seat facing a 42" TV screen and you watch a movie from a CNN TV broadcast about the owner of the studio who took the pictures. Because of the people sitting in front of you, you can't even see the screen without shifting to look between people.
The audio descriptions of the individual pictures was good. I don't know how this museum got so many rave reviews on Trip Advisor. |

| It was a very moving & emotional experience, especially being a member of the world-wide fire family. The museum setting provided a very peaceful, serene & healing environment. The pictures & artifacts truly captured the heartfelt emotions while honoring & respecting all involved. I enjoyed the individual hand-held devices to be able to set your own pace. Thank you for preserving such an important part of our history. |

| I read about this little museum on tripadvisor.com. A friend and I were visiting NYC and decided to come. They limit the tour to 20 - we had 12 at the 11am Saturday tour. It's a large room filled with pictures taken and items recovered from the World Trade Center site by the only official photographer of the FDNY. Your tour guide gives you some information, then you watch a video narrated by Gary Suton. You are given headsets that allow you to roam the room and listen to the information or stories by pressing in the appropriate number that is tagged to each piece. I think the actual pieces found intrigued me more than the pictures. A business card, a box of matches from Top of the World, a shoe (could have come from one of the stores). A clock with its time stopped at 10:02:14 - the exact time one of the towers fell. Our tour guide was knowledgable and excellent. (She doesn't actually tour you around the room - you do that yourself.) Her commentary was moving and it was easy to become emotional.
It's pretty somber - but I'm glad I went. It was very interesting. Just don't come expecting some large involved tour and rooms of stuff. It's an intimate look at his work. They only show approx. 60 people a day. You are allowed to take pictures of every exhibit - except one.
I hear that Gary (the photographer who took the pictures and put the museum together) is sometimes there. I'd go back to talk to him. |

| Even watching the all the news coverage of 9/11 you never actualy belive it realy happened, visiting this museum brings it to life by hearing all the personal experiences and tragedies of the people involved.
The emotions we experianced during our visit made us realy understand what the people of New York went through and their stories will live with us forever.
A visit to this museum should not be recomended. It should be compulsory for anyone visiting New York. |

| The combination of the verbal introductory overview by the staff person, followed by the video portion of the tour, followed by the free time in the museum with the listening headset made for a very insightful and enlightening event. More than I expected going in and very nicely done. Very informative, moving and touching; and brought the pain and loss of the 9-11 victims and their families closer to home for the many of us who were witnesses of the event from a distance on television. It also drove home the exhausting, dedicated work of the rescue and recovery personnel that went on for months after the attack. The simplicity of the venue and the simple but well done method of conducting the exhibit and tour complimented the subject matter. |

| I wasn't sure what to expect when we bought our tickets but this was a very emotional experience and one I would strongly recommend. The "self guided" tour of the photographs and artifacts is fabulous and the narration explaining each one is thoughtful and respectful. |

| During my visit I did a lot of the touristy things like the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Rockafeller Center, etc. But my time at the Ground Zero Museum is the one that touched my soul. I'm from MN and I watched this tradegy unfold from a far. The following week I went to NJ to help establish an operations hub for our NYC displaced employees. I listened to their stories, cried with them for their missing friends and families and tried to help them in any way I could. Spending time in this museum helped me understand who the real heros are and gave me an appreciation for the sacrifice they made to bring loved ones home to rest and help friends and family find the closure they need.
The museum is tastefully done, exteremely respectful of those that lost their lives during and after this tradegy. I'm thankful the facilities are small and the number of visitors are limited for each viewing. I cried a lot, laughed a little but mostly thanked God for the people that survived and those that give so deeply of themselves to help find missing friends and family of people they may never meet. This tribute gives them the honor and respect they deserve.
An abosulte must see! |

| This is a must if you go to NYC, it will help you understand everything that happened in a very visual way. The pictures are amazing. It is very intimate, they are right when they call this place the "largest little museum" |

| It's remarkable what has been done with a one-room museum. Thoroughly recommended, but expect to shed a tear or two. |
