When I called to purchase the tickets, I was told that it was important to be there on time since it was interactive group participation. I really messed up our morning plan to be there at 1pm sharp. Well, needless to say we could have arrived at 1:30 or so and still had the same 'presentation' if you can call it that.

You Need to Tour This Museum
Sat, Oct 20, 07   2:30 PM Lewpaynter Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This tour was one of the best (in fact only) private tour I've ever taken. To be able to see the devastation that this took on that day was mind blowing. You get to see and feel the heartache and pain each rescue worker endoured during the recovery process. It really brings you up close and almost there because you actually get to listen to the audio associated with each piece of artifact and picture in the museum. To be able to actualIy hold atrifacts from that day was very rewarding for me. The pictures, along with audio really pulls at your heart, to have an understanding of the rescue efforts made by all who participated. It will make you feel something in your heart that you will NEVER forget. YOU need to take this tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was the highlight of our New York Weekend!

I brought my 18 yr old nephew to New York City for the weekend, as a gift to him for making Eagle Scout. This was the first, and most important of our expereiences while in New York. We were very lucky to be in the tour that Gary led and it was a very moving, very meaningful experience. This truly brought 9/11 up come and personal and made us appreciate even more the firefighters, police officiers, rescue personnel and all others involved in this horrific incident for the USA. I will recomment this to everyone I know who ventures to New York City, whatever their purpose -- they MUST take time out and go to this museum. My sister and I are planning our 3rd seasonal trip to NYC this spring (to date, we have made the summer trip, 2003; our winter trip, 2005 and now the spring trip will be 2008). The VERY first thing i will plan on the iteniary will be this museum! Thank you Gary for making this the best and most personal thing to do in NYC -- a must see for every Amercian citizen -- WE WILL NEVER! FORGET Bee Shelton, Kingsport Tn

Very informative with a personal touch

It was suggested to us to visit the museum before going to ground zero, so this is what we did. The stories told were heartfelt, informational, and was done in a very tasteful manner. It helped to experience the museum first so when you got to ground zero, you could better understand what took place there. There were so many stories told about so many people, even the dogs used in the rescue efforts had stories. It was an amazing witness to 9-11 and the aftermath. The artifacts collected were neat , as well, especially the page from the Bible. It was great to be able to view all these things on display. The photography was awesome.

We were fortunate to have the Photographer there, who gave a more personal touch to the stories behind the pictures. It is "a dimond in the ruff "as they say. It is a much needed shelter for family members to heal, to remember, to share, and a more positive way for those of us who need to know what it was like to help carry the load. It was an emotional highlight. Thank you.

I was disappointed that my friends wanted to go to a see this when we flew to NY. Little did I know how much I would enjoy this experience. I have to say it was the highlight of my trip. The people at the site did a wonderful job. I would recommend it to anyone going to NY. I already did. Hopefully, they will follow my suggestions.

My son has read and watched many documentaries about 9-11. He is 30 years old and lives in Colorado. He and I attending the workshop and it was the highlight of the trip to NY. We were especially moved because the photographer and curator of the museum was out guide for the experience. His knowledge, openness, warmth, and emotional connection brought the experience to a highly sensitive level. We are recommending it to as many of our acquaintances and friends who may be traveling to NY in the near future. It is an incredibly moving experience and I can't give it a high enough rating!

We had the good fortune to meet Gary and hear first hand how the rescure and recovery workers battled through the intence emotional and physical demands at ground zero. His exibits are truly eye opening and everything there grabs at the heart strings. I highly recommend visiting this exibit. If you don't speak English, bring a translator as the presentation and explanation of the displays are currently in English only.
