Very Informative, great education for our family
Sat, Jan 19  1:00 PM Rocheford Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We finally were able to bring our 17 and 18 year old with us to New York. We brought them to the ground zero museum workshop to allow them to see first hand the impact of 911. As I expected, it was a very moving experience for all of us. We thought that the photographer Gary Suson did an extraoridinary job. God Bless Him!!911 changed our lives and has changed the future of our children. We know that our children will never forget our two plus hours at the museum and meeting Gary Suson themselves. It made a tremendous impact on them. It was a great education and gives them a little more strength to express their own views on the impact of 911. The woman that led our guide (I'm sorry, I forget her name) was very imformative, kind and sensitive. She could not have done a better job taking care of our needs that day. Thank you!

Emotional & Powerful Experience

This experience is a transport back to the very rough times of post 9/11. It was emotional and at times difficult and impossible to hold back the tears.

I would highly recommend this activity. The pictures and stories were very moving. The actual photographer was there and was very personable and humble. I would recommend going to this before actually going to ground zero.

A harrowing, yet important collection of artefacts from September 11. We were fortunate to have Gary talk us through various elements. I would HIGHLY recommend this musuem to anyone visiting New York. I would also recommend that you go here before visiting Ground Zero.

This was a moving and enlightening experience

We are a family of six ranging from me at 57 to my wife, 47, three girls 15-19 and a 13 year old boy. All of us found the experience very special indeed. I well remember that terrible day in September 2001, when I was in Hong Kong and stayed up for most of the night. This was harrowing enough but I had no idea how terrible the aftermath proved to be, nor that more than 10% of casualties were members of the NYFD. We will remember this unique and insightful experience for a long time.

The Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour was one of the highlights of our visit to NYC. Seeing those photos really impressed the whole family, hearing the stories behind them even more so.

Small museum -will help us never to forget 9/11
Thu, Jan 3  11:00 AM BartHenson Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We had a special treat with Gary the photographer there to introduce the exhibits and to answer questions. That made the connection with 9/11 real and personal. The photographs were each supported by the audio story for each one and made the photographs much more understandable with meaning. The exhibits of artifacts were heart rending since they showed the battering that even those things that survived took. I was amazed that some things survived from Windows on the World, the restaurant where I had eaten several times. Seeing a piece of the American Airlines #11 airliner brought the horror home as did pieces of the World Trade Center glass that somehow survived. The only thing that surprised me was how small the room was, perhaps 25-30 feet square. Even then, it was not crowded since only a limited number are accepted for each two hour slot. And there was enough there that we easily spent the whole two hours engrossed in the material. It will help us "never forget!" Bart Henson

Well worth seeing

This small museum exhibit was well worth seeing. If you would like to see the Ground Zero Photographer's original photos and his audio editorial of his experience you will not be disappointed. It is a respectful museum and very interesting. After the audio and visual exhibit, take the E train at 8th Ave to World Trade Center and walk around. If you want a great view of Ground Zero, check into the Millenium Hilton. Fantastic view.
