Well thought out audio presentations accompany pictures of the Sept, 11 recovery efforts. Great opportunity to see and touch WTC artifacts.

A unique opportunity

Everyone will have their own reaction to this small museum, driven, I suspect, by varying degrees of humanity and political viewpoint. Whatever that mixture may be, the fact that one chooses to visit at all suggests the former is of some importance. Because GZMW is an experience I won't go into detail about what to expect - enough is available elsewhere - but would recommend it as a reminder of those awful days and as a tiny insight into the toil and emotion of those who were involved in the recovery process. GZMW is not enjoyable, but I am profoundly glad to have seen it and would urge you to take a deep breath and do the same.

Best time spent while in NYC.

While visiting NYC for the first time, my family and I did a lot of sightseeing. We enjoyed the Ground Zero Museum the most. It was very informative, thought provoking and tastefully done. It was great to be able to hold some of the pieces. The stories were truly touching. I would highly recommend the museum. I brought home books for my husband who didn't get to go with us. The museum is well worth the nominal admission fee.

An Amazing Experience

A friend and I attended the museum workshop in November 2007 and our group was lucky enough to be able to meet Gary Suson. My father did not die in the 9/11 attacks but he was a fallen firefighter and I wanted to visit this museum our of respect for his brothers lost in 9/11 and the families that they left behind. This is a deeply moving and informative experience and tribute. The great care and respect that guided the creation of this museum is evident in every aspect from the guides to the artifacts to the photos and they way that everything is presented. It is non-commercial and heartfelt and Gary Suson is truly a special person for having captured a time of such despair, hope, sadness and love and sharing it in this way. The personal stories attached to the displays within the museum allow visitors to try to gain some sort of understanding of this tragedy and share a tiny burden of grief with those who lost loved ones in the attacks. It is a experience that we will never forget. Take this tour before visiting Ground Zero.

Gary & his assistant were very accomodating to us! They put us back to the day of and days following 911. However, they did it in an uplifting way. Although you felt some of those desparate feelings from those days, the images here give you a sense of strength and hope for the days ahead. I can't explain it - you just have to go experience it.

A must see!

In May, my husband and I went to Ground Zero itself where we had discovered that there was a Ground Zero Museum. The next time we came to NYC we decided that we were going to tour the museum. As a gift to my folks for their 50th Wedding Anniversary we decided to to visit NYC late October. We visited the museum first and then took my folks to Ground Zero. We came away from the museum in awe of what we saw and heard. It was my folk's first time to Ground Zero, for them it put things in a different prospective. Since we have been back home, I have recommended this tour to those I work with and to our children.

A place of healing..

When I returned home from several weeks of volunteering in a respite center at Ground Zero in 2001, I was desperate to make my husband understand what I felt. After five years, he finally "gets it" because of this wonderful place. My husband told me that it was the best place we could have visited for him to get a real sense of what I saw and went through while I was serving the rescue/recovery workers. Thank you, Gary, from the bottom of my heart. You have created a beautiful tribute. I feel more healed after visiting your museum and talking to you than I have in all of the five years that have passed since I've returned home. I can't thank you enough and look forward to returning with friends and family soon.

We loved our visit to the Ground Zero Museum Workshop. Before visiting, we did not really know what to expect. The size and intimacy of the Museum was great and we liked that it was by appointment so that it wasn't so crowded. We felt like we had plenty of time to see everything and that the tour was very well planned out. The staff was amazing, very knowledgable and respectful of 9/11. I would reccommend this to anyone visiting NYC. It is a must see!

The museum stretches your heart!

I didn't exactly know what to expect purchasing these tickets. I knew I wanted to go, but I had no idea the museum would touch my heart the way it did. I must admit, it is a small space; not very big at all. But all of the stories, artifacts, and pictures it entails makes such a small room seem so big. I walked out with a different perspective, giving new meaning to September 11, 2001. It was an unforgettable experience, and one i would recommend to all of those interested in learning more about 9/11.

Met Gary Suson the founder of the Museum at St Pauls Chapel near Ground Zero. He informed us of the Museum and its continuing popularity. We were so glad as it was one of the highlights of our trip to New York, and will last with us forever. He has created an intimate Museum which is small in area but huge in spirit and full of compassion. The tour lasts up to two hours and it was a very humbling experience. Would highly recommend.
