Phenomenal Experience
Sat, Mar 14  3:00 PM jrinere Male 40-49 Local Family With Children
having worked in the WTC for many years, i didn't know how i was going to react to the musuem workshop and i also didn't know if my 10 year old son would be engaged. it was absolutely an amazing healing experience for both of us. Gary Suson's work is a living tribute to those that lost their lives and the people that tirelessly worked to save those that they could. the intimacy of the environment lends itself to this experience being a shared energy with the small group of attendees, however, you also have the ability to be completely alone in your own experience as needed. if you haven't been - you need to go - if you have, you need to go back. we will return.

Excellent Museum

I would strongly recommend a visit to this small museum, I was not quite sure what to expect, but really enjoyed the fact that it was very small but contained everything relevant you would want to know. The lovely young lady who greeted us was very knowledgeable and explained everything about 9/11 in a very sympathetic way, the tour was very personal and much better than walking around a large museum reading about each item. It was a very worthwhile visit.

I have recommended this museum to friends and colleagues and described it as the best museum I've ever been to. Infact you should have a couple coming to see you in the next few weeks - Mr & Mrs Hewitt from the UK. Katy

A very moving experience. Definitely worth the time. The museum was very well displayed by using recorders that described the picture/item recovered from the site. You could stay as long as you wanted. We stayed 2 hours listening to descriptions. The girl, Lauren? was very good describing certain events and relating to us some of what went on that day. and Mr. Suson was on site to answer questions. He is a magnificent photographer who captured the despair and tragedy of so many people on that fateful day.

Amazing tribute to the Ground Zero Recovery

Thank you for putting together the Ground Zero Museum Workshop. It is impressive and respectfully done. All in our group agree that of the many places and things we saw on our first trip to New York City, our time spent at Ground Zero Museum Workshop was by far what is leaving the biggest lasting impression on us. It is set up in a way that allows visitors to learn as a group about it's purpose and history, but then go on individual journeys through the ground zero recovery process by means of audio tours. It allows for private reflecting about this life-changing event. The images and artifacts are very powerful. We were pleasantly surprised to meet Gary Suson during our visit. Have already recommended Ground Zero Museum Workshop to a friend heading to NY this week!

Not to be missed museum

We came to New York on a "girls only" holiday and had heard about the ground zero museum on Trip Advisor. I think most people will agree that 9/11 was a historical event in that we all will remember where we were/what we were doing when the news flash came on and we saw the plane hit the first tower. As the horrific story unfolded I remember crying on and off for about four weeks solid thinking about the thousands who lost their lives and the thousands left behind. This museum was the most heart rending experience we have had, the graphic stories behind all the photos and artifacts around the museum will stay with me forever, from the retired fireman searching for months for his son's body to the really spooky clock which was stopped on the time the first plane hit, the iron boulders that landed in the shape of a cross and the look of desperation on the fire fighters' faces searching for their colleagues, but it was all created in such a serene way that we all felt quite peaceful when we came out and truly felt we had paid our respects to the poor souls who perished!

Mr Sauson's photo's reflect so much respect and generosity of heart. The FDNY made the right choice when they picked Gary.

Very touching tribute to 9/11. It really hits home to see the pictures and the artificats and the stories behind them. Recommend going and seeing it and remembering those that gave their lives to help others.
