It was the smallest but one of the most intense and insightful exhibitions that I ever visited - highly recommended.

Intensely Moving

The intimacy of the setting created a feeling that you had walked right into the living room of someone's life. It was peaceful, but at the same time a painful reminder of that period in our lives. It was private, and very moving. Although photographs were allowed to be taken, it felt as if one should not. It was that personal of a voyage for the two of us that attended the workshop.

A Respectful Compassionate Side of New York
Fri, Mar 7, 08   1:00 PM Judypatin Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
I have traveled all over the world and have never had an experience like the one at the Ground Zero Museum Workshop. The photographs and artifacts, along with the narration, gave me a real feel for the for the whole aftermath of 9/ll. Everything was done with respect for all the families involved, compassion and, I think, even love for for all of the rescue workers. I enjoyed the use of individual headsets which let me listen with distractions and be in touch with my own thoughts. Many times I played the narration more than once to clarify something I didn't understand, but also because so many of the stories were so amazing that they were hard to believe the first time through. So much of New York City is hustle bustle - people passing each other without even a glance. This small museum is quiet, intimate, heartbreaking and uplifting all at the same time. I highly recommend it to everyone visiting NYC. See Ground Zero and then head up to this quiet little retreat. You won't be disappointed.

Best Exhibit in NYC

The Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour is something every American should make time to see when visiting NYC. Photographer Gary Suson has done a remarkable job of documenting the post 9-11Recovery Process. His amazing photographs tell the touching and courageous stories of the many who gave months of their lives (including Mr. Suson) working at the post 9-11 Ground Zero site. A must see! Historically, it's every bit as important (if not more important) than a visit to Ellis Island & the Statue of Liberty. This is a 5-star exhibit you will never regret viewing.

IN A FEW BRIEF WORDS I WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT I SAW AT THIS MUSEUM, THE FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS I HAD. MY HEART ONCE AGAIN WAS BURDENED FOR THE FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF 9/11. THIS MUSEUM IS A TESTAMENT TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES THAT DAY. I HAVE ALREADY TOLD SO MANY ABOUT IT AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. THANK YOU SO MUCH GARY FOR THE WORK THAT YOU HAVE DONE AND CONTINUE TO DO. SINCERELY MARTIN AND RENEE' RATLIFF, FROSTPROOF, FLORIDA ...........NEVER FORGET..........

A sensitive description of the recovery efforts.

Gary has captured the recovery efforts from the World Trade Center in a powerful and moving series of photographs. He personally narrates each, which brings you right back to that day when our freedom and innocence was stolen. The musuem is something that every person should see. "Lest we forget"

A Must See to Comprehend 9/11/01
Sun, Mar 2, 08   12:00 PM betsie Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The meat packing neigbhorhood has several places to eat and shops to browse on either the way to the museum or afterwards. The museum is small and very manageable if you only have 1.5 hours to spare. The photographs and artifacts are tasefully displayed and easy to view. Both the video and audio provide interesting background about some of the lives lost and about many of the amazing people who were involved in the rescue effort and the clean-up. It was an emotional experience and well worth the time.

A small memorial museum that packs a LOT of punch!

A wonderful tribute to the victims and heroes of 9/11. I appreciated the fact that the musuem did not focus on the sensationalism of the terrorist attacks - no footage of the planes crashing in to the towers will be found. The focus was solely on the heroic rescue efforts and after-math of the event of 9/11. The personal stories behind each photograph and artifact truly bring the events to life and enable visitors to connect on a deeper level with what happened.

Well worth the time and money!

This was extremely moving, powerful, and something Americans really need to experience. The museum is small but it took us over 2 hours to experience it, and to finish everything it would have taken another 1/2 hour. There were only four other museum guests when we were there. We watched a wonderful photo video that reminded all of us of the tragedy that happened on 9/11, and then on our own we used headsets to listen to personal stories about each individual photo and artifact in the room. This museum has pieces you won't find anywhere else, such as an electric clock hanging on the wall in almost perfect condition, frozen at 10:02 a.m. The artist, who is highly talented, was present when we were there and we enjoyed a personal conversation with him afterward. We leaned a lot and left truly appreciating everything we have in our lives. Don't do this if you're in a hurry or under time restraints.
