| My husband and I visited the Ground Zero Museum Workshop on our first and only tourist visit to New York. With so much to see and so little time, we were torn with where to go and how best to spend our time. We are so happy we chose to visit the Museum! We were extremely impressed and moved! It was definitely the highlight of our trip. We loved the intimacy of the setting with the small space and small groups. We were not rushed and felt comfortable expressing emotions and asking questions. We had the great opportunity to meet Gary Suson the photographer; who was so gracious and willing to share his experience with us. His work is amazing! He brought to life the real events and rescue efforts that happened after 9/11. Not an activity for young children, but everyone who is old enough to hear about 9/11 should see this exhibit. It was created with taste and respect. It made us proud to be an American and proud of the brave men and woman within our boarders who help to protect us everyday (fire fighters, police, rescue workers, iron workers, etc.) We hope that someday this exhibit will travel around the U.S. so it can be shared with many others. Bravo! Thank you for bringing this to the public. |

| It far exceeded my expectations. We were lucky in that the photographer conducted the tour and his descriptions and stories were utterly moving. We had tears in our eyes, but they were tempered by pride and, yes, joy that our country came through this stronger than ever. Everyone should see this. |

| Even though I am not American you cannot come here and NOT be touched and moved by the displays at the Ground Zero Workshop Museum. It's not large, but it's very well thought out and even manages to show humorous moments as well as very sad stories to hear about. You will see photos, pieces of glass from the World Trade Center, you can even touch it! You will be given an audio guide with numbers on the items which will explain to you what they are and what they mean. Staff are available to help and answer questions. One of the highlights of my visit to New York! |

| The Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour was excellent and I highly recommend it. Mr. Gary Suson, the official photographer at Ground Zero, was present during our tour which was an extra plus. The photos are moving and the narration is extremely informative with a personal touch. The only possible downside is the location which is a little inconvenient. I had my mother with me who is in her upper 70's and the stairs were a little tough for her. No one offered her the use of the elevator. |

| This event is an AWESOME experience. It made the whole 911 event so much real for me. I was in Atlanta when it happened and had to get home to Louisiana without air travel. All I could think about was getting home to my kids who were with my Mom while I was out town on business. My drama was nothing compared to the folks in NYC.
The biggest impact to me from this workshop was the realization that after the news stories slowed down and the rest of the US and world went back to our daily lives, the rescue efforts continued for 9 months! I had no idea how long, how intense and how overwhelming it all was. Being so far away, it is just not easy to imagine the horror of it all. The families and the fathers and sons impacted along with the long lasting affects blow my mind.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to the workshop, but it was worth the effort to get there, the time away from "fun" stuff on vacation and the time spent inside listening and looking. I looked at and listened to every picture I could fit in to the almost 2 hours I was there. And I still didn't get through them all.
I applaude Gary for his efforts in putting this together, for being present when we came to the workshop and all he is still doing for families impacted. Him being there was very special in that it made it so much more personal an event. His personal stories and input were invaluable.
I will recommend this museum/workshop to everyone I talk to about my vacation. I've already started! The 2 friends I was traveling with had very similar thoughts and feedback. They were both tahnking me for finding out about the workshop and getting the tickets.
All I can say is WOW! It was amazing! |

| We didn't know what we expected to find, but we found a reverend museum of expression for what occurred on 9/11. Talking to the photographer added a layer of more emotion we weren't expecting. To go here first and then to go to Ground Zero made the day emtionally draining, but definitely special. I think it is a very special museum. Thank you so much for offering it. |

| It was a real opportunity to see the other side of things not shown on the TV or documentries. It gave a great insight into the work, stresses, tears, and laughter of the people searching for remnants of thier loved ones.It was one of the highlights of our visit to New York. |

| On the day we visited ( Sunday 2 Dec 2007) we were fortunate to have Gary Suson head up our tour. The room was smaller than I imagined but so much information and emotion came over during our time there. The tour was due to last 1.5 hours but 2 hours later we were still there. The pictures, audio comentary and artefacts that you're allowed to hold or see tell you so much you might never have known. Gary freely talked to us about his role as photographer and it's clear to see the whole experience has taken its toll but the results of his work are amazing. We'd already been to the ground zero site the day before and it wasn't at all what I expected. However this museum and Gary explained so many things and makes us feel that people will never forget the heroes of 9/11 as long as this museum is there. It's not on the normal "tourist" routes but well worth your time off the beaten track. |
