Not much of a "tour".
Sat, Nov 22, 08   11:00 AM parkhillde Male 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
The Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour wasn't much of tour at all. The "tour" consisted of a group of about 20 people, huddled around a flat screen monitor, watching a rerun CBS News episode of an interview with Gary Marlon Suson. Mr. Suson was apparently the "Official photographer at Ground Zero for FDNY). We were then left to browse the pictures, and random items collected, and on our wireless handsets listen to brief explanations about them. The room was crowded and cluttered with what looked to be peoples personal belongings. Almost as if someone lived there..... We didn't stay long.

Excellent - a story that needs to be documented

Although we found this museum disturbing, we feel it is story that needs to be documented so that no one ever forgets. We compared this to our visit to the Hollacaust Musuem in Washington. As Canadians, we are somewhat removed but still remember that day like it was yesterday. It changed how we all regard our freedom.

Moving Experience

We as a group thought the workshop was a very emotional experience. The human stories contained in the room were very moving and the descriptions of the entire historical event helped to describe some very personal tragedies at an individual level.

I was in NYC for a play on Sat. and wanted to see the WTC site. I'm glad I found out about the museum workshop. It made the trip to WTC even more meaningful.

NOT A MUSEUM AND A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!
Sat, Nov 15, 08   3:00 PM 60MARLAN Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
BE FORWARNED. This 'museum' is actually a 500 sq. ft. appartment packed with photographs and memorabilia from 911. When you first walk in they there is bad new age music playing and after a very sappy speech hey make you watch an incredibly poor quality recording (sound included) of a CNN interview with the photographer. After that you can stay to watch the pictures or you can leave. We left. This attraction is a complete scam and I believe that 3000 poor souls must be turning in their graves for being so shamelessly exploited. Fot God's sake save your time and money and do not encourage these hustlers.

An amazing experience

This small but powerful museum gives you such an understanding of the heroics and recovery that took place after the 9/11 tragedy. Gary takes you there with not only his pictures but the stories behind them. This truly is a place that lends it's hand in healing and overcoming such a horrible time in America's history. I walked out of there absolutely amazed at this experience.

Never forget...

Gary Suson did a wonderful job making the tragedy of 9/11 into something that was creatively genius. The photos and the narrative documentary that explains the various aspects of the "pit" was well worth the visit. It is a reminder of all those that give freely of their lives to serve us here in the US and abroad. When you look at what not only the firefighters and the city had to deal with during that time, it makes you realize how we as American's are protected every day. The historical account that we have all lived through has changed the World. I will admit it is emotional but in a respectful kind of way. I can't imagine those that lost loved ones having to live through that time, but could see where this could be a powerful therapy to closure of the injustice that terrorism creates. I praise the Father above for the works of Mr. Suson, thank you for following though and forever will the photo of Genesis 11 grace my wall.

The museum is very small, but worth the visit. The tour guide was fantastic and very informative. Saw lots of photos, artifacts and heard stories that I never knew about 9/11. It was both amazing and heart breaking at the same time.
