Well Done

As a survivor I was interested in seeing this museum and many of the original images captured. Although it was emotional, my family and I really enjoyed seeing the very different perspective offered at the museum. The remnants and images were tastefully presented in a very intimate and thoughtful way. Every American should see this to learn more about this tragic event from a different viewpoint.

A Place of Closure - Especially for New Yorkers

I stumbled upon this museum and thought it would be really upsetting. But it actually made things more real and refreshed me with the selflessness of those who responded day after day to the site to help famillies find closure.

A must see for all! I feel this exhibit may bring closure for someone who has been affected by 911. And a place to visit for people who have lost a loved -a place to mourn. I felt an indescribable presence. The exhibit is also a place to reflect on the giant tragedy that struck this unique country. A place to reflect on the value of life and how quickly it can be taken away. The girls at the Workshop bring you through the events of the tragic day without the visual impact. The girls Lauren and Kelly were wonderful. I left with a feeling of living life to it's fullest.

The workshop was both informative and inspirational. Mr. Suson captured the emotion of a tragic time with class and respect. I would definitely recommend this event to both tourist and native New Yorkers.

I took my mom to the Ground Zero Museum as a birthday present and it was excellent. The museum was very moving and informative. I couldn't stop talking about it when we got home. It truly is "the best little museum in NYC". Our guide was excellent, and everything about the museum was done very well, with sensitivty and compassion for those who lost their lives in the WTC. I was very impressed with the museum and would recommend it highly.

This little museum was much more than I had anticipated. Don't be fooled by its size - this one-room museum is more than one could ever expect. The intimacy is what makes the experience respectful --not only to the victims but all the people who gave countless hours to the recovery process. It really focuses on all the positive ways the people of our City and Country responded to this tragedy. Whatever your reason for going, whether to feel closer to the event or to even heal from it, don't miss it. I would highly suggest it as a healing tool for victims families. I believe you can make a private appointment.

NEVER FORGET/ this Museum Workshop does just that

This is history in the making NOW. Persons of all ages should not miss this sensitve, personal account of human beings joining together from all over our nation to lend a hand in whatever one could do. What I appreciated about this workshop/tour is that there's only 20 per tour. The room is small where you watch videos as well as see/feel what is left of the glass, papers, personal belongings etc. It's really uncanny how Gary M. Susan was the one choosen to be the official (and only) photographer allowed on this sacred ground - he captures the raw tenderness as well as the intense reality of what happened. I grew up in New York and now live in Atlanta, GA.. I was in Atlanta on 9/11 and will never forget what I was in the middle of doing and how I've viewed life from a different prospective after that day. I felt such a sense of urgency to get back to NY and bring my daughter who was 11 at the time and we did. We flew in 4 weeks later to smoke still rising and rubble still burning. The stench was overwhelming and walking around, looking at all the missing persons bulletins pulled at my heart and soul. From stepping off the train at Grand Central and being greated by the National Guard everywhere, streets locked down, 5th avenue with nothing but flags and police everywhere. A very still quiteness to this city that I've never heard or felt before. I could go on and on about more that I saw and felt, the bottom line is that not every visit to NY should be about a Broadway Play, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, great food and such - things that bring a smile and happiness to your face just by "being a part of it". There are times when one needs to feel and understand the pain of so many families, pray for them and their losses and hold a piece of history in your heart - this is the place. And it should bring a smile, a sense of warmness with a better understanding of what those that rescued and cleaned up are still living with and going through. And how we all can appreciate our lives and those we love everyday. It is a gift. NEVER FORGET.

Gary's photographs and dialogue brought so much detail to Ground Zero. The experience was both heart breaking and uplifting. A special bonus was having the opportunity to meet Gary!
