It was very moving and it gave me and my boyfriend an insight to/idea of the impact September 11 had on America and its people. It's remarkable that Gary and all these people came together in such an inspiring way and even more inspiring that Gary chose to put his whole life and soul into making this museum and thereby keeping the memory of this amazing recovery alive. In my opinion, the museum deserves all the attention it can get and I'm just thankful that I was fortunate enough to find out about it on www.viator.com Vicki, Denmark

The museum was moving and very well done. Our whole family learned a lot and while the kids did not express a lot emotionally, I feel it did have an impact on them and provided and excellent lesson. We visited as part of a 11 day family vacation. This year our vacation had a verse from the bible to frame what we saw and served as a discussion started each night in our hotel room . The verse was "Finally , brothers and sisters, whatever is true, is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Philippians 4:8 The evening of the day that we visited the Ground Zero Museum, the kids recounted several things that they saw and experienced at the museum fit into the things that this verse tells us to think about. Nobility - of the men and women who responded to the cry of the innocent. Right - the rescue workers treated the victims with respect as they attempted to find their remains. It would have been easier to bulldoze the whole thing instead. Lovely. The photos of what was meant for evil but brought out the good in NYPD, NYFD and mankind. Pure - The look of pure love on the face of brothers and fathers searching for the remains of their loved ones. Also the rescue workers lined up to show respect for the fallen heroes as their remains were carried from Ground Zero. Admirable The valiant efforts that lasted not a day, not a week or month but over years to respectfully reclaim the WTC site. I am grateful that these are the things that we are able to think about after visitin. Thanks for the opportunity to have a little taste of all that was done on our (America's) behalf and thank you for the experience that help us to take good from what was intended for evil. You have to visit this museum, because the guide was the only one who could take photos of the world trade center tragedy. I was shocked when I quit the museum.

The museum touched me in a very special way. It showed the "after effects" to every day people. I liked it because it wasn't about the dreadful day itself, but the tough and touching moments after. I felt seeing the recovery in the eyes of one compassionate man instead of the media was the key ingredient in making this museum a must see. As a first time visitor to New York, I could have missed the other sites and my trip would have still been great, not going to this museum would have taken away from the "trip of a lifetime" feeling I had after we returned home.

On the day we visited ( Sunday 2 Dec 2007) we were fortunate to have Gary Suson head up our tour. The room was smaller than I imagined but so much information and emotion came over during our time there. The tour was due to last 1.5 hours but 2 hours later we were still there. The pictures, audio comentary and artefacts that you're allowed to hold or see tell you so much you might never have known. Gary freely talked to us about his role as photographer and it's clear to see the whole experience has taken its toll but the results of his work are amazing. We'd already been to the ground zero site the day before and it wasn't at all what I expected. However this museum and Gary explained so many things and makes us feel that people will never forget the heroes of 9/11 as long as this museum is there. It's not on the normal "tourist" routes but well worth your time off the beaten track.

This "biggest little museum" left a lot of feelings in my heart! It provides interesting information and deep impression and compels you to consider the human beings from the very new points. Thanx to its creators!

An informative & moving experience

It was a great experience, learning about Ground Zero and the aftermath of 9/11. The focus was on getting New York and Ground Zero back on its feet, not dwelling too much on the actual attack. I think that is the only right approach, it's a positive message. Through stories about the firemen, you can empathize with them and have a greater understanding about what it was like for them. Moving & emotional, but always positive. I highly recommend it.
