Small in size, Huge in impact

This was a great experience. At first glance it seems that it would only take five minutes to see the entire museum, but after almost 2 hours I was wondering if I could take it all in. It really brought everything home. We could see and FEEL ground zero. After the museum my group went to ground zero and it is an experience I will never forget.

an emotional experience, not to be missed

the musuem is small but there is so much history, so much emotion and so many stories packed into the room that no-one could leave untouched by the experience. we were lucky that Gary Susson himself was doing the tour which added an extra element of connection. the photos themselves are amazing and they are brought to life with the narratives, sometimes eerie, sometimes with a little bit of humour but overwhelmingly of love and respect. i'd definitely recommend booking a tour.

Avoids the rampant political, xenophobic and rhetorical nonsense that is sadly attached to this event. Fantastic. Also, he's the only reason that you'll ever see photos of this effort, and it shaved years off his life, so go thank him and show some RESPECT, ya?

Amazing Expereince!

I recommend this place to people who are looking to heal from 9/11, want to learn more about the days events, and hear special stories that you will only be hononored to hear at this museum. The museum is small, but packed with so many pictures, stories, and artifacts (which you can touch) to last a lifetime. We were very lucky to have a tour with the actual photographer who was amazing!!! So humble and caring. He took the time out to talk with us, and even sign our book that we bought of his pictures! I recommend going to the museum first, then to Ground Zero. Also, visit the church across the street and firehouse #10. This will def give you a new outlook on life.

These photos deserve more respect.

I enjoyed the photograph's, but feel overall, that the museum was a tourist trap, making money from the emotional curiosities of those genuinely interested in the 9'll subject. The collection would better be suited as a donation, or loan, to a larger more expansive exhibition. Below the TV, that deliver's an emotional portrayal of 9/11 with heart tugging Celtic music, i saw an X Box Video game console, with numerous video games. This made me angry. - let's play a sad 9/11 movie and make people cry, (so they get they're money's worth) and then when they leave i'll use the same TV for fun and games, maybe some racing, or even Grand Theft Auto. Jesus Christ, if you're going to play video games on the same TV that's used as part of a tear jerking 9/11 memorial exhibition, at least hide your toys away from public view. It appears, that the photograph's are proprietary, and the owner is unwilling to further share or split the income generated by them. Yes, the proceeds are "shared", but what really does that mean? I'd be curious to know the percentages of how the proceeds are divided. I believe an exhibition with such emotional context, needs to be in a space more fitting for a museum, with lots of space. The photos were crammed together, as though to make it worth the admission fee. The artifacts should not be accompanied by purchased or found props (i.e. rocks, gravel, sand,) to enhance the "feel" of destruction. The handwarmers and hygiene kit was a stretch. I think the photographer signature is tacky. A more appropriate sign off would be a simple small print beneath the photo, instead of a hand signature. A hand signature, is for those seeking celebrity acknowledgement. 9/11 is not the subject matter someone should be trying to make a name for themselves from. The photographer's name should be an after thought in the marketing. I don't care about the photographer, i care about the victims, and the heroes. I think it's tacky, that he even offers to hand sign the posters. A disgrace to the victims. Overall, this exhibition is good, but should not be referred to as a "museum", the museum title is misleading, because you're expecting a bigger space, or at least one which is not crammed to capacity for lack of it. The victims deserve respect. - this exhibition deserves twice the amount of space - each photo needs open space around it to allow for reflection. Show the victims, heroes, and families of 9/11 more respect by either providing more space for the photos, or taking some down so that it's not so crammed. . . and get rid of the XBox under the TV and the bike in the bathtub.

A Must See for First Timers
Sun, Oct 7, 07   12:00 PM lvhotmomma Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This was our first time in New York and when I found the site online it sounded interesting and was something we definately wanted our kids to see. It was a great intimate setting, the photos and listening to the accounts that coincide with those photos were just incredible, it really brings you back to that day and where you were and what you were doing. I would recommend this to others who feel the loss that so many people did from that day so many years ago.....even though i did not personally know anyone that perished that day i feel a sense of loss for what happened to our country. it was a very touching display and hit home.....it was great to meet Gary Susson and hear from him what he went thru, it was a day I will never forget.

Profound Experience
Sat, Oct 6, 07   1:00 PM 2007beckerNY Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
I really enjoyed everything about the experience. Just a few items: 1 - The video played on the large screen is not formatted to fit the screen. So, what you end up with is poor image quality. Perhaps you could right-size the video or screen. A small screen should not be bad considering the intimate setting. 2 - There needs to be a larger sign/banner outside the front door. 3 - The soft spoken young man assisiting the group with the tour needs to speak up. When requested to speak up he appears shy and then resumes speaking softly. Thank you for asking for my feedback.

This museum was wonderful. You really got to see a lot of remarkable items and excellant pictures. There was an audio tour that informed you about each picture or item. Very emotional but a MUST SEE.
