I had the last tour of the day and was a bit late. That wasn't a problem at all. I just missed the first introduction. It started for me with an short intro from one of the girls, then a movie about 9/11 a how the founder got the idea of the museum. After the movie a short explanation about the headset and remote and then we could just browse around the museum, listening to the stories behind all the pictures. It was good, you could walk around at your own pace and listen to only the stories your interested in. The founder was actually there, just working behind his computer. Don't really know what to think of that... Overall a good tour with impressive stories. If you take the last tour, you can walk around as long as you like. p.s. its not near the actual location of ground zero.

Moving Tribute to the Brave Heroes of 9/11

This is a must-see activity for anyone interested in 9/11 history and artifacts. The photographs captured the devotion the rescue workers gave to the solemn task they were given. We were honored to have the photographer, Gary Suson present on the day of our tour. He was humble and informative. The time flew while we were there. It was a very moving experience.

Museum was small and intimate. It didn't feel like your typical, stuffy museum. This experience really helped me to remember the events of 9/11 and recovery period after.

The tasteful and sensitive manner in which Gary and his team describe and deal with the aftermath of 911 at Ground Zero is very moving. Even our young children (7 & 9) were so completely captivated by the photographs and artifacts and the stories behind them. One of the most moving experiences I have had. It captures it all!

A well organised and appropriate way of honouring those who died in 9/11. It was suitable for our 4 children ages 6 to 16 years

The best attraction in New York???
Thu, Oct 29  11:00 AM jesswhite25 Male 20-29 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My wife and I have just returned from a 5 day trip to New York, in which we tried to do everything! Left the hotel after breakfast every day and stayed out 'til late every night, taking in nearly every main tourist attraction going. The Ground Zero Museum is an absolute must for those visiting NY, very emotional as you would expect but done for the right reasons and in the best taste - all proceeds go towards charities associated with 9/11. It needs to be booked in advance but I can recommend it so much if you get the opportunity to go - you will be amazed by what is there. The museum is based in one room, which may sound bizarre but you will comfortbaly spend 2 hours in this room and still be intrigued by its contents and photos. The founder of the museum was the offical photographer for the FDNY and he was actually there to answer questions as well, it was a truly fascinating experience not to be missed if you're in the Big Apple.

The museum was exceptional. Very moving, emotional, and professionaly done. The audio description of each article in the exhibit was very well done and added more depth to the experience.

We were in New York for 6 days and this was the best experience that we had. A small museum but extremely interesting. The whole concept was well organised and sensitively done.We were there as a family and my husband and 13 year old daughter felt the same way.The guides were knowledgeable and helpful and what made it even more special was the fact that Gary Suson, the photographer was there too! A definite must if you are visiting New York.

An unbeliveable opportunity to share in the work of Gary Suson - one can never begin to imagine the feelings and thoughts he must have went through during his work at ground zero. Made even more special by the compassion shown by the tour guides. Don't visit New York without a visit to the Ground Zero museum.

T he Little Museum of Horror and Sadness
Mon, Oct 26  12:00 PM tweeton204 Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
The discussion of the event was provided by the photographer himself the day I was there, the video and display were very very well done. The pictures were so moving . It was quite evident how much the photographer himself had been affected by his experience of the horror that he saw,and the time he spent taking pictures at Ground Zero. Frankly this little museum needs to be moved to a larger space to do it better justice. And I bet more pictures would be on display of this horrible event if there were more room. it was really a touching experience! Tanya Tweeton Fort Lauderdale

I could not believe all the things that were found in all that rubble. Very heart warming to see everyone working together to find surviors and people that did not make it, this is how people are suppose to work together not against each other. The sad part is a bad thing had to happen to get people to open their eyes and work together for one common goal. The sad thing is most people went back to just thinking about themselves again.
