We found this to be an excellent tour with amazing photos and stories documenting the aftermath of 9/11.

Don't go with kids

The museum itself was interesting and moving but pretty overpriced and not what we expected. The "museum" is a one room apartment in an apartment in the city. It is devoted to the photography of the official ground zero photography. While the photos are beautiful and moving and the museum holds a lot of neat artifacts from the site, I don't think it was worth the $25 entrance fee. (Although they say some of the money goes to the charities devoted to victims' families) It took about 1.5 hours to go through if you listened to every audio "snipit." Do not, by any means, bring children under probably 10 years old. I had read it was "kid friendly" but my husband and I had to take turns sitting in the hallway with our son while each of us toured the tiny room which was full of breakables our son wanted to touch! In short the concept was neat and the photos beautiful but not for kids and not worth $25 each.

No words can describe what you will see and hear in this museum. Anyone with a soul will be moved by Gary's work. Make sure to plan a stop to the Ground Zero Museum during your next trip to NYC.

An absolute must-visit when in New York!
Sat, Sep 5  11:00 AM craigoliver Male 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We visited from Australia in early September 2009. This was my second visit - this time with my mother (I went last year too!). It's an emotional experience but without a doubt the highlight of our trip to New York. I always leave feeling grateful for what I have in my life and that's a good feeling. We were fortunate enough to meet Gary Marlon Suson, the photographer and creator of this museum. He's a top guy - very approachable and friendly. I really liked him. The museum is suitable for all ages. I would highly recommend visiting this museum when you are in New York.

A soothing way to remember

The workshop though tiny in physical appearance was magnanimous in terms of the worth of the displays and photograph memories of what was before 9/11 and what came out of it. It is representative of so much love and compassion amidst the documented destruction that one comes out feeling proud to be human and with a renewed faith. The pictures displayed each have a story that will touch one's heart. The ambiance at the workshop is created to make it a very soothing experience. A must visit if you want to know the real ground zero.

A place that helps everyone heal and everyone to never forget. A very moving and very simple and tasteful compilation of the journey of the recovery workers. We were simply blown away by the whole experience.

Important to help us remember
Fri, Sep 4  11:00 AM pmelpolder Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This museum is thoughfully and respectfully presented in a way that helps us to both understand the horror of the event and to remember the real lives that were lost. We were very, very glad to have gone - and would recommend that you do this before going to ground zero instead of the other way around. It gives a real face to what truly happened there. Thank you to all of those who have created it.

Ground Zero Museum Workshop is a must see...
Thu, Sep 3  1:00 PM linsyk Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
This tour was way above and beyond what I expected. I would best describe the information given as being the type that one does not see or hear about on telivision or documentaries. Gary Marlon Suson (photographer) did an excellent job conveying many stories about the cleanup at Ground Zero and how this tragedy has effected everyone.

TOP marks for Ground Zero Museum

Fascinating and emotional insight into recent history presented in a very professional style which does justice to everyone who worked so hard during those difficult months. There are loads of photographs accomapnied by an audio / visual presentation and many other artifacts. Don't confuse this museum with the one that is located 'on site'- said to also contain personal items recovered from the wreckage. (we didn't visit that museum as we didn't think the idea of putting such items on public show was in good taste). You won't be disappointed with the former museum though - HIGHLY recommended...JG/SG (UK)

Powerful Message

This is a really worthwhile stop in NYC. I have visited the city many times includding the top of the WTC in Nov. 2000. It has been difficult to fatham this devistating event. When I left Ground Zero Museum, I felt I had a better understanding of what NYC endured on 9/11 and throught the recovery. The message I have taken is that so many individuals along with our Nation as a whole were able to move forward with such powerful strength.

Worth it
Mon, Aug 31  12:00 PM jjpautz Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
The Ground Zero Museum is not what you would expect from a 'normal' museum. It's one room filled with artifacts and photographs from the World Trade center site. The audio portion of the tour is very informative and educational. The tour helps us remember all the people that perished in the tragedy and that we should keep them in our memories forever.

A powerful experience
Sun, Aug 30  2:00 PM LarrySaunder Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I wasn't sure what to expect with the museum but the director who was the only authorized photographer at ground zero told the stories through sound and pictures and really helped me remember the tradgedy as well as the human spirit. The insights provided a powerful testimony of the many sacrifices and heart warming stories from the world trade center. A truly wothwhile part of any visit to NYC
