Great for college students.

College students have memories of 9/11, but it certainly didn't happen in their adult life. This museum was excellent for helping them to experience many of the emotions of the day in a very respectful way. I would definately recommend the museum to adults, but I think that it provides an excellent learning tool for highschool/college age students that will definately keep their attention.

I was so moved by the stories. It is so easy to forget the magnitude of the sorrow. I was impressed by the photos and I am so glad that we included this in our visit to New York!

Ground Zero Museum Overall Grade: B

Overall, I thought the museum was pretty good. I wish there was more space to display the artifacts and photos. For example, it would be more dramatic to have the small portion of the aircraft in a display rather than sitting on the floor. However, I did learn more facts about the human side of 911 and not just the newsworthy stories about the hijackers and the towers falling. I wanted my young teenagers to understand that the 'news' is about real people with real lives and to never be hardened to human tragedy because of the inundation of bad news in our society.

Moving

Much smaller than I had anticipated however I only just completed it in the time. I did not want to miss a single word. The only thing I would say is that others that finish the tour early should show some respect either by keeping their voices down or by leaving!! I do not want to hear about the shopping trip they are planning that afternoon whilst I am still touring the museum. It is rude and inappropriate. They were pretty strict rules in this place and I was surprised that this was not addressed. BUT, I would recommend this musuem wholeheartedly and was moved beyond words. Many thanks.

Everyone should visit Ground Zero Museum Workshop

This small museum impacted me in a big way. September 11th/2011 was a human tragedy for all of us, no matter our race, religion, nationality of gender. I wanted to visit this museum as a way to pay respect to the people who lost there lives that day, and after (from the recovery). I have an unending amount of respect for the recovery workers and my heart aches anyone who lost a loved one. This museum helped me to connect on a human level; to see the reality of the recovery experience and healing.

Definitely a MUST do!

I really enjoyed this museum. Very small and intimate, and provides very interesting stories on the clean up of the Twin Towers that weren't heard on tv. We live on the west coast, so it made everything a lot more real and personal on this tragic event. Definitely the most remembered day of our trip.

Facinating

We had read that this was the best little museum in NYC and we agree. Just barely had enough time to go through each point on the tour, though. Fifteen more minutes would have been great!

A moving and healing experience

Although the museum is only one room, there is so much to take in, the 2 hours seems to pass in moments. The photography and exhibits are heartwrenchingly human yet also healing. It makes you recall exactly how you felt on 9/11, and yet find solace, compassion and respect for those who died and those who gave tirelessly to help. Ground Zero itself can almost feel overwhelming and incomprehensible. The Ground Zero Museum Workshop is by design, an intimate space that allows reflection and reverence. I highly recommend this experience.

it was too deconnected from the location of WTC

Translations for the 2 films were not available - sad when you don't understand fully English and you have made it all the way to the workshop. i was hoping to also get a chance to go around the WTC place and learn about the future memorial, i.e. to feel the place as well rather than only pictures. As a European i didn't connect to the place

No Words to Describe!!

This tour was very touching and emotional. The photos and artifacts were important, yes, but it was the stories behind them that you learn about - that is what makes this tour worth it. Highly recommend it.

Lovely tribute.
Sat, May 7, 11   1:00 PM JENNY2424 Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
It was a beautiful tribute to all of those that lost their lives that day and for the rescue and recovery men and women. One can see that Mr. Suson put in a lot of hard work physical, mental and emotional (he never spoke of this though-his focus was on the rescue and recovery workers and the victims of 9/11) and a lot of time capturing the people and places of Ground Zero. He did a great job, his heart really shows in his photographs and stories. His continuing efforts for all of the 9/11 victims is inspiring. Our group learned so much more than we thought we would from this exhibit. Thank you, it was a worthwhile and moving experience.

Tour was very emotional as I had expected. Pictures, audio was very touching. It was very honoring to the individual who took the time and took the pictures for the fireman and those lost at 911 in NYC.
