Quality, professionally organized, mini-museum
Fri, Apr 22, 11   3:00 PM BenditeBend Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My 79 year old Mom and i (45 yr old Female) really enjoyed this mini-museum, featuring photographer Suson's exclusive access to documenting the recovery efforts of 9/11. Interesting artifacts from Ground Zero, phenomenal photos, with handheld audio to learn-as-you-go. Professional staff with the right respect and reverence 9/11 deserves. Definitely recommend it. Interesting for teens, maybe not so much for younger kids. In participating in a number of 'touristy' activities, I'm very glad we went because of its authenticity.

A Healing Experience
Fri, Apr 22, 11   11:00 AM elyseryan Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
My husband and I are originally from NJ and lived there when 9/11 occurred. My husband worked in the city and was unable to get home because the bridge had closed as he started to walk along with many others. We have lived in the Boston area for about 10 years now but will never forget the tragedy left behind. Our boys know the story and were too young to fully comprehend. Now they are 13 and 12. When choosing our activities for our NYC school vacation, we luckily found this on Trip Advisor. We thought is was educational for our boys and my husband and I found it to be very healing as a way of honoring a memorial for so many innocent victims and their families. The narrator was very informative and the setting was a healing process, which even included spiritual music. The photographer had a great idea for this non-profit organization and he captured many symbolic photos and memorabilia. we have family and friends who live in NYC and they didn't even know about this workshop. When I told them about it, they said, "Oh we lived through that pain". But I told them for that reason, they need to see this to bring a sense of healing and closure and to honor such innocent lives lost.

Gary does an amazing job of not only capturing timeless photos of the 9/11 events and aftermath, he also narrates and provides supporting information on each photo in a self-guided tour of the museum. A true hidden gem and a moving experience! Thank you...

Insightful and Sensitive Experience

A thought provoking and sensitively presented insight into the immediate aftermath of 9/11.I was particularly impressed by the intimate way the photography and the artifacts were presented in a small unpretentious room. The individual audio 'tour' allowed for each person to experience the emotions and personal impact of this time in history at their own pace. Definitely recommended.

This was a remarkable expose about 9/11. My teens were engaged for 2 hours much to my surprise. The room is small calling for an intimacy to heal and deal with your own emotions. It is tastefully packed with all kinds of artifacts and photos.

This museum is a gem & deserves to be #1 in NY. I am so pleased that we have seen this moving memorial to the Ground Zero Recovery. The individual stories, artefacts and most of all Gary Marlon Suson's heartrending photographs deserve to be seen by all. We were enthralled and touched by this wonderful place. We were also very lucky to meet & talk to Gary, who isnt always at the museum - so this was a big plus for us. Dont be in any doubt about visiting this awesome 'attraction' it will be something you'll never forget about your visit to NY.

This museum is a must see

This was an incredible museum. We brought our children ages 7, 12, and 14 and it was powerful for every one of us. It is a small venue and a perfect place to view the images and feel the emotion of the event. Each story was amazing and allows you to feel the heartache and loss of the event. We went from here to Ground Zero and while it is a construction site now it gave relevance to the size and enormity of the event for our children. If you are at all interested in this time in history, you cannot miss this museum

All the information that i heard about 911 was not surprising to me at all. I feel hearing some of this made me feel that you could never put yourself in someones else's place that had to deal with the trama both physically and mentally that the people that lost someone or even just helping with the recovery was very hard. May god bless and keep all of you.

As residents o the uk it was important to find out the full picture of what happened and what has happened since. This definitely showed that more people effected than led to believe. Lots of un sung heroes. NY will always honour these people but important that thy are not forgotten across the world. This small museum will help support this. Well done to all involved.

This intimate setting is just right for understanding what happened at Ground Zero in the days following the events of 9/11. You get to see and hear the many stories of those whose lives were touched by this tragedy. The message of hope, honor and faith are beautifully displayed. I am glad that I took this tour and would recommend it to everyone.

It was our first trip to New York for my 13 year old son and I - and understanding ground zero was an important part of paying respect to New York as a city. The exhibition presents the reality of the impact and aftermath of the world trade centre terrorist attack in a respectful and heartfelt way.
