Very moving, very sobering

As a tourist to New York, we wanted to pay our respects to the terrorist victims of 9/11. But where? My 18 year old son knew about your workshop and asked us if we could go. The time spent at the museum workshop was informative, intimate and quite emotional. Many thanks to all involved in taking the time to remember all those who suffered and who died.

Worthwhile

It's impressive; at the same time lacking. I was surprised that it was only one room, but it was packed with material. I guess I expected more drama and more emotionally charged material. I was more impacted by the material that was inside the church at ground zero a year after 2001. It was handmade stuff submitted by the community and things from the emergency rescue people. The timing may have had most of the impact as Ground Zero was still a dusty mess at the time Even though Gary himself gave the "tour", I was looking for more intimate details. He did well but I wanted to relate more to the people. God Bless him for what he is doing, though. Never forget! Maybe it needed a better timeline. Before the attack, the day of, the next few days, the next 6 months and where we are today. The stories were hard to put together with all the artifacts. Do go and do support this effort. it is worth the money.

A Very Emotional Encounter

The visit of the workshop was very important for me, because I haven't been able to fully understand and cope with the tragic happenings seven years ago. You've seen a lot of photos and imagery before, but getting to know some of the stories behind those pictures first hand helps to fully comprehend what that day meant to the lives of so many people. The museum was really intimate and private and everything was just right to allow for you to concentrate on your own exploration of what was there in front of you. However, the staff was really helpful answering any questions and providing any emotional support you might need. Altogether, I want to thank all the people that have collaborated in this project, and especially firefighter Gary Marlon Suson, who has left me impressed with his incredible strength of character.

Not being from New York or having any relatives that were living there when 9/11 occurred made it really dificult for me to relate or feel any real feelings towards the tragedy. But this Ground Zero museum really captures the heart of it all. The artifacts found and the stories behind each item and photo really hit home. To me this is a must visit museum when visiting New York.

A moving experience

This is a wonderful experience to have and one that you will never forget. I think the price is a little high, but probably worth supporting the mission of this museum in telling the story of September 11th. The guides were very helpful and efficient. I would recommend this to anyone.

Incredible!

What an amazing museum! I was impressed by the fact that the museum was able to take such a tramatic event and display memories of that horrible day in a tasteful way. As a person who witnessed the events first hand, I was reluctant to go to the museum. But I am so glad that I did. The setting is peaceful and lets individuals come to terms with 9/11 at their own pace.

Great pictures

We enjoyed the pictures in the museum. Although, i was a bit disappointed that it wasn't near the Ground Zero site. I didn't pay attention to that in the notes and just noticed it after we got to Ground Zero. It's not a big deal, but it was a little disappointing. I think the $25.00 charge is a little much for admission. I know the WTC Tribute is only $10.00. I think if we had it to do over again, we probably would have went with the lower priced one. Overall, it was pretty good.

Trip Highlight

This was definitely the highlight of our weekend! It's small but a powerful collection of artifacts & photos. A lot of time was obviously taken to combine the stories for each photograph and item. Give yourself a couple hours to experience this site. Do not be afraid to take children with you. We talked for hours (and days) after the visit. Carla was a great tour guide and speaking with Gary Suson was amazing. We should all...NEVER FORGET.

Sometomes we have the oportunity of see the worst and the best of the human been. The worst is the terrorisms atacks to the world trade center twin towers. The best is the encourage of many people as the firemen and polimen who offers their lifes. Donīt miss this place because since, 11/09 lives in the heart of New York forever

Good but seemed to be more about photographer.

Often this exhibit seemed to be more about the photographer, than the photography. Example: "I was told not to go into the subway, but did anyway..." and "I came across this page from the Bible...". Overall, I thought the Ground Zero museum (on Liberty street?) was better.

This was a very intimate experience.

This museum wasn't anything that we expected. We had assumed that it would be an actual tour of Ground Zero but when we looked up the location of the actual museum we realized that wasn't the case. Once we settled in and we were able to take the time to visit each photo and artifact we felt that we had a very intimate look into that experience for not only individuals but also New York as well. We would recommend this museum to anyone who can appreciate spending about 2 hours looking at some very humbling and touching images.

Excellent but under advertised

Had a great experience, staff was excellent and meeting the photographer/owner was great - very down to earth and easy to talk to. Out of towner, very few people I asked (locals) were aware of the musem, as I walked up to the musem I was beginning to wonder if this was legit, remember out of towner and NY has some events that are less than stellar. The location is somewhat by itself and the burned out building next door adds to the suspicion. With the current advertising I almost missed my chance to taken part and my trip would have been so much less meaningful. As it is, I was not able to use this as part of the explorer pass and we paid directly to Zerve as I wanted to lock in my reservations and I was directed back to NY Explorer...there were only two reservations left and I could not take that chance. Okay - hope that helps, I would strongly recommend the visit and if I am back in town will take anyone who has not had the opportunity to 'experience' this exhibit - many kudos.

I would like to share that the male instructor was very knowledgable. He spoke clearly and made sure we understood the images we were viewing.
