It was not a downer like my college kids thought it might be, It was very uplifting and reminded me of how much God loves us and doesn't forget us especially when we are in trouble and in great need. It also showed me the great love we can show toward our brothers. |

I AS A REGISTERED NURSE, EDUCATOR, AND HUMAN BEING WAS MOVED BEYOND WORDS AT THE MUSEUM. MY FEELINGS WERE TAKEN ON A ROLLERCOASTER AS I CRIED, LAUGHED, AND EVEN AT TIMES BECAME ANGRY. I RETURNED TO FLORIDA WITH MEMORIES AND PICTURES BUT MOST OF ALL NEW HOPE WITH THE UNITING OF THE GREAT PEOPLE OF NEW YORK AND THE WORLD. I HAVE TOLD MANY AND STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO ALL.
THANK YOU

The photos. The stories. The Lives. If you weren't there that day or didn't personally know someone who was there, when you visit this workshop, you will ... well, there's no real way to describe it... you'll just feel it. You'll feel a connection with the victims, with the families, with the fire fighters. My family traveled from California and the one request from friends back home was "You have to go to Ground Zero for me." For someone who is not from NY or didn't know what the towers looked like before - the sheer awesomeness of them; the real Ground Zero looks like any other big contruction site. That's not to take away from seeing the actual site itself. You sort of have to. Its just something we all as human beings; as Americans, need to see for ourselves. But when you walk into the workshop and you see the photos and you hear the voices, you can't help but feel the full impact of that day. I took my niece and nephew all over NY. We went to the Stature of Liberty, the History museums, Time Square...EVERYWHERE. But of all the places we went and the things we did, the Ground Zero Workshop is what they were talking about when they came home. They were sharing the stories of the father looking for his son and of three brothers. They weren't telling the story of a tragic event in our country's history. They were telling the stories of real People.
I won't give any details here. You just have to feel it for yourself. |

My wife, my 4 kids, my mother and I went on our last day of our NYC vacation. Since I had read many reviews before we went, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. I can honestly say that it exceeded my expectations. It is a very personal experience and it was definitely an experience that we will never forget. The personal human stories that you will hear are incredibly moving. You will find that the two hours go by very quickly as you become emotionally consumed by the myriad photos, artifacts, and stories of the heroes of Ground Zero. If you have only one day in NYC, set aside two hours and go there. You will be glad that you did. |

We attended as a family of four with two daughters aged 11 and 10.
At first glance, the room appears too small to offer a 'value for money' experience. However, after subsequently being totally absorbed in a new depth of emotion and a discovery of highly interesting and hitherto unknown (to us) facts, two hours passed by so quickly.
Make no mistake about it, this was a fabulous experience, very sensitively presented, highly emotional and often deeply disturbing. Everyone appeared to be so absorbed that you could have heard a pin drop as each of us tried to deal with what we were seeing and hearing - in disbelief, shock and horror whilst at the same time in complete admiration of the courage and selflessness exhibited by all the emergency workers and rescuers.
Our daughters were too young to watch the horrific events unfolding on that September day in 2001 and whilst we have made them aware of it over the years since, it is difficult to tell how tragedies like this are seen and processed through the eyes of a child. We wondered whether they would wish too see this tour on our trip to NYC, but with tears rolling down their innocent cheeks, we witnessed first hand the impact of the unlikely marriage of evil (the perpetrators) and heroism (the emergency services) on their developing characters.
We were just about the last ones to leave - our group was fortunate to meet Gary Suson towards the end of our tour and that made it even more special. A great big thank you to him for such a respectful presentation.
None of us will ever forget this tour for as long as we shall live. Of course, we wish this tour never had reason to exist at all.
In conclusion, this tour is most highly recommended - we then went on to the museum at the WTC site itself - both are compelling and offer similar but different perspectives of 9/11 - and deep and lasting memories. |

This is a small museum with a large number of photographs all numbered to enable you to listen to an explanation by the photographer. It is a powerful account of 911 and the impact on lives. I found it to be very emotionally draining but am really pleased I visited it and congratulate the founder on dealing with the subject matter so sensitively. |

A must see for all! I feel this exhibit may bring closure for someone who has been affected by 911. And a place to visit for people who have lost a loved -a place to mourn. I felt an indescribable presence. The exhibit is also a place to reflect on the giant tragedy that struck this unique country. A place to reflect on the value of life and how quickly it can be taken away.
The girls at the Workshop bring you through the events of the tragic day without the visual impact. The girls Lauren and Kelly were wonderful. I left with a feeling of living life to it's fullest. |

This off-the-beaten-path hidden treasure is a must-see for everyone. The intimate setting and self-guided tour of the museum allow visitors to reflect on the over 100 displays at their own pace. Mr. Suson's photography is exquisite, and the tone of the museum is one of hope, rather than of mass destruction. Our children, ages 11 and 9, were very captivated and eager to learn about the events following 9/11 through the numerous photographic and artifact displays. My husband and I were also mesmerized by "witnessing" all of the heroic efforts that ensued following this tragic event. Thank you, Mr. Suson, for your talent in creating this museum. May God bless you. |

This was a wonderful place visit. It really opened your eyes to the tragedy of 9/11! I loved that every picture had a story and that it was personally told to you by the person who took the pictures. |

The workshop was both informative and inspirational. Mr. Suson captured the emotion of a tragic time with class and respect. I would definitely recommend this event to both tourist and native New Yorkers. |

Mildly disappointing

Mildly disappointed would be an accurate description of my experience with the Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour. I expected something much bigger - the museum is nowhere near Ground Zero and is in a single open room that's maybe 600 - 800 square feet. I kept wondering as we approached the museum if we were really in the right place. Maximum capacity is probably only 30-40 people at a given time. The pictures and artifacts are interesting and moving but they reflect only those taken by the proprietor. Granted, he was the official (only?) photographer for the NYFD but certain famous photos, presumably taken by other professionals, are not included. For example, the famous photo of the body of Fr. Michael - the beloved chaplain of the firefighters - being carried by several firefighters was nowhere to be found.
The museum certainly treats the event with great respect and reverence but I would have expected something that was broader in scale that included the collective work of many, not just one person. |
