A thought provoking experience

I did not know what to expect when I entered the museum. Listening to the beginning video and just glancing at the items on display while it was playing made me feel like I was part of the day of 911. I couldn't help but hear the sniffles in the room and I soon found myself looking for the tissue box. I didn't know anyone personally who was killed in the attacks but after the museum tour I felt like I knew everyone. Thank you for keeping the museum going and for explaining in such detail the courage of the men and women that day.

Honoring victims and responders

This museum is an homage to the victims and responders to the World Trade Center towers on Sep 11, 2001, and the days of rescue and recovery seen through the eyes of the artist. I recommend this museum for those who wish to also honor victims and responders. This is not a stop for curiousity seekers. The docents are respectful and helpful.

Weigh the cost

Everything costs more in New York, and this is no exception. If you don't mind spending $25 per person, then do go. It was just a bit heavy on the budget bringing a group of church youth and spending almost $400 for the experience. The stories behind the pictures were moving, however. I do wish I had bought a book.

Go and See

We were scepticle about the museum when we were told to meet at a doorway in the Meat Packing District. Once inside the museum workshop, we were actively engaged in the imagery around us. The photographer, Gary Suson, just happened to be at the museum while we visited so questioning him about his tireless endeavor enhaced our visit. The programmed audio headset enriches each artifact and photograph. The viewer feels the emotion of the individuals captured on film without seeing the bodily destruction of the victims. Two hours was a perfect amount of time to see and hear all about that tragic moment in time.

A DOSE OF REALITY

As as grandmother of a 12 year old grandson and 8 year old grandaughter who will inherit this legacy of history, I wanted it to be a learning experience that would be fully explained and felt as an act of terrorism and the end of our nation of innocence. Thought it was presented very well, but not scary, just sensative information about a terrible incident in our history and one if not prevented by our sense of security checks and watchful concern, could maybe happen again.

I was very impressed with the museum and how well it was set up for being in such a small room. Each guest having their own devise so they could go at their leisure was a definite bonus.

Emotionally moving...

Ground Zero Workshop was excellent. Images and narration by photographer create an emotional connection. If there is another way to purchase tickets than Zerve, I would go that way. The ticket transaction was smooth but I called Zerve to see if they could accomodate rescheduling my appointment at an earlier time so that my family could enjoy some other things while in NYC and they told me that the appointment I wanted was booked.. I later confirmed that was not the case and I did not appreciate being lied to by Zerve.

a great experience - actually much better than I expected - I really liked the fact that the staff and the museum wasn't intended to make people sad and cry - eventhough that would have been very easy - all in all it was a positive experience that made me reflect about 9/11 in a new way.

My wife and I deeply enjoyed our tour of the 'Ground Zero Museum.' The staff were both very professional and thoughtful on how they presented the various images & artifacts that have been recovered from the recovery. Mark & Kathryn Hanf Mukilteo, WA.

Emotionally specific to the events of 911

I have done research, read magazines, watched news reals, spoken with people who experienced 911 and yet until I visited this museum I was not fulfilled with the information I had collected. I was able to finally let go of any kind of emotion that I had regarding this tragedy. All of my questions were answered and I finally felt relieved once I left. I would recommend this museum to EVERYONE!!!!

This museum was truly amazing! Gary really captured some of the most beautiful moments in these firefighters lives. I was so moved by all of these photos and I truly enjoyed the personal experience that I felt. These people really came together as one family and reinstated my faith in mankind. The most incredible thing about this museum is that Gary Suson showed up and met with us!

Good opportunity for insight into events of 9/11

I really enjoyed being able to actually touch objects like the glass from the WTC buildings. Also thought the narrations on the "walkie-talkies" provided to each visitor was a good idea; it enabled each person to look at the displays at their own individual pace, My husband got a kick out of talking to Gary when he dropped in at the end of our time at the museum.

Does not cover the whole story.

Whilst this tiny museum houses many moving and beautiful photos, it serves more as an exhibition of the work of the photographer rather than a comprehensive story of the events of 9/11.
