ENRICHING EXPERIENCE
Sun, Aug 9  12:00 PM MAGDALENAS Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
OUR VISIT TO THE GROUND ZERO MUSEUM WAS A VERY EMOTIONAL AND ENRICHING EXPERIENCE. WE WERE SO VERY TOUCHED TO SEE THE PICTURES TAKEN AND THE STORIES BEHING EACH ONE OF THEM. IT MADE US MORE AWARE OF THIS GREAT TRAGEDY BUT MOST OF ALL THAT EVEN THOUGH BULLETS OF HATRED WENT INTO THE TWIN TOWERS WHAT COME OUT OF IT WAS LOVE. HOW THESE HEROES COULD WORK DAY AFTER DAY LOOKING THRU THE RUBBLE UNDER THESE HORRIBLE CONDITIONS WAS BEYOND MY COMPREHENSION... THEIR DEDICATION AND DELICACY IN LOOKING NOT EVEN DARING TO SIT DOWN IN THIS HOLY LAND THEY CALLED IT WAS ADMIRABLE. THANK YOU GARY FOR SHARING YOUR BEAUTIFUL TESTIMONY THRU YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS, AND FOR NOT LETTING US FORGET THE LIVES THAT WERE LOST IN THIS TERRIBLE TRAGEDY!!

Great Experience

Keep in mind that it is a small museum. Very very small. One room actually. Initial shock and concern. Once you can get past that concept and open your mind and soul to all that is to be seen and heard.........you won't be disappointed. I took my two children (11 yrs and 9 yrs) and even they enjoyed it. You can buy memorabalia personally signed by the official Ground Zero photographer himself. It touches your heart and teaches history. Many items in the museum you can touch and hold. I would love to see an expansion for the museum to a few rooms.....a video room, an artifact/photo room, and a memory shop. However, I highly reccommend this tour to any one visting New York looking to participate in history. -Alissa McNabb

Well worth it

To be able to hear and see the stories of the ground zero workers makes the event all the more real to me as an outsider from Texas. Two hours really isn't enough time to get through it all in this tiny space - but it is well worth it.

Moving experience

The Ground Zero Workshop was very moving. It brings back the emotions of 911. The groups that tour the exhibits is small and that make it more enjoyable. I would highly recomend The Ground Zero workshop tour to any Firefighter like myself but also for any American and non-American visiting New York City....Never Forget!

Went to both museums. The first one was about the day. Your's was about healing and the eyewitness words of the photographer were heart felt. The people who ran it were warm and engaging. Enjoyed the experience emensely.

Being from Canada it was one thing to see what happened on Sept 11th on the TV but being in the museum made it so much more personal. The information provided was in great taste, very respectful of everyone involved in Sept 11th and very moving. I would suggest any visitors to NYC to put this museum on the top of their list of things to do. Definitely a must see!!

Moved to tears

An amazing collection that speaks most from its silence. The pictures capture an event in the most moving way I could imagine. The artifacts, often haunting, are never distasteful. The prersenter for the introduction was filled with compassion for the event he spoke of and for the museum he represented. One can not imagine all that is contained in a 1,000 square foot room. Two hours vanished in both my tears and awe. A tribute done with love. Ken Resch Iowa

I had no idea what to expect. My sister and I didn't know how a one room museum could last two hours. We were very surprised how quickly time flew by and how we could have stayed longer if we were allowed. The tour was done with such dignity. The museum felt like home--warm and inviting, yet clean and tidy with a modern decor. We appreciated the quiet, somber atmosphere. We learned so much from each picture and artifact. Each description was just enough information to move us and inform us. More museums should model after this one. We were so glad we went and will be recommending it to all our friends.

The Ground Zero Museum Workshop Tour was an incredible experience. Even though it was in a small location all the artifacts and pictures were breathe taking. Sometimes the tour got intense and emotions started to run high, but it was a positive experience full of information and one that I will never forget.

wonderful set up in nice small area with small group, we loved that we could move around alone and review alone, the hosts were both very professional and friendly, we all felt as if it was too much to take in all the information and hence we did miss a few stations... however having said that i would not take anything out of the workshop. thank you for this courageous and sobering presentation. we have brought the book home and have already reviewed

Emotionally touching experience.

This was a very moving experience, I am glad to have brought our family as it is an historical event that happen in our 14 and 16 year old boys lives. Mr. Suson did an amazing job of truly making you feel as if you were at "Ground Zero", at times I was truly overwhemed with emotions related to the loss of lives, families and the amount of destruction that took place. Mr. Suson's inferences were also well thought and quite eerie, such as the page he found from the bible. I recommend this to those that appreciate history , it truly is a 'time capsule" of the memorable event and worth the time to experience all that occured on that dreadful day and following it in New York.

Quiet Reflection
Wed, Aug 5  11:00 AM mmbcfred Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
My husband was very skeptical when he headed 2 miles from Ground Zero to the museum, stepped over the jack hammers working outside the brown, brick building in the meat-packing zone and entered the bare hallway to the museum. He thought for sure that the 30x30 room was going to be a disappointment and that we had been had...until the tour started. The impact of the sounds of that day, the photos of the Band of Dad's, and the memorabilia found at the site were remarkable. To touch a part of the plane and hold it provided a solitary moment of quiet reflection of that day and gave us all a chance to reflect so we will never forget. No tour of New York can be complete without a stop to this place.

Truly a Big Small Museum
Tue, Aug 4  1:00 PM GodForgiveME Male 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
We were on a tight schedule going to this tour. We thought the tour was an hour long, but it's actually about 2-hours, and if you plan to listen to the whole tour plan for a maximum of 3 hours. The tour is mostly an audio tour by Mr. Suson's voice of 100 pictures and/or artifacts that he was only allowed to take. If you plan to listen to ALL the pictures than plan to do the last tour-time of the day. Prepare yourself, because if you do listen to it all, it may be overwhelming for some people. Also, do not plan to buy souvenirs early, because they only allow to buy after the tour is over, which is when you are done finishing listening so that could be after an hour-and-a-half to two hours into the tour. Another thing, I was expecting to buy but they do not sell there; there are NO magnets there. Note, that all sells, tickets, and etc money mostly all go to the victims of the 9/11, but very little is kept to keep the museum running. By going to the museum, all you will be doing is helping others. It's for a good cost. Enjoy!
