Personal view of a great tragedy
Sat, Oct 13, 12   11:00 AM hollijm Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Hard to believe that this was over 10 years ago. The main message is don't forget. We should not forget that we are still the targets of Muslim terrorism. Do not let your guard down. We should also (and primarily in the proprietor's opinion) not forget the great sacrifice by New York's finest. Thanks to all who serve to protect us.

Wonderful Experience

My husband and I, along with our children ages 8, 11 and 14, all enjoyed our two hours in this museum. It is tastefully done and really emotionally connected my husband and I back to those tragic days. But I most loved the experience for my children. One hadn't been born yet and the other 2 were too young at the time to understand what had happened. Now they all understand and for that I am grateful. As Gary Suson says, we should never forget.....

TASTEFUL and MOVING

I, along with three of my girlfriends from the UK, visited the museum on Dec 11th 2007. We were not at all certain what to expect, hoping it would not dwell on the morbid. Our main purpose was to pay our respects to all those who lost their lives on Sept 11th, also to their families and friends. We need not have been concerned. From the moment we rang the bell, we were warmly welcomed by Lou, who gave the talk, also Gary Suson himself who happened to be at the museum that day. We appreciated the ability to absorb the exhibits in our own time. The hand held commentary devices were ideal. We found the entire experience to be moving and a great testimonial to the ultimate love and comradeship of the "first responders" Thank you Gary

Upon walking in I was nervous because I had recommended and brought 10 other family/friends. It was small and I thought oh my!! But!!! It was wonderful. A wonderful museum in such a small area!! Enjoyed so much feeling the connection of the people of 9/11.

A REALLY MOVING EXHIBIT

I came with my 67 year old mother and 6 year old daughter and all three of us found ourselves engaged. The museum is small but the work is so very large, so very well done. I really recommend it.

A Must See

Our son had recommended this museum to us, and said if we didn't see anything else in New York we must see this. We were not disappointed. The photos were truly a study of humanity. We learned new facts that we had not known, with photos we had never seen before. It can be a somber experience, but never the less- amust see while in NYC.

A Very Moving and Worthwhile Museum

This was one of the Highlights if not THE Highlight of our NYC trip. We had 4 teenagers with us and even they thought is was very good. We were lucky enough to have the actual photographer present during our visit too, which made the whole experience even better. The museum is rather small like other reviews mentioned but the presentation is quality, once you experience it for yourself you will know what I mean. I highly recommend this museum if you are traveling to NYC.

Very Well put together

My experiance at the Ground Zero Workshop was unforgetable. The atmospher was pleasing and each exibit gave so much information about the aftermath to 911. I was totally impressed with how well this museum was put together. I was most impressed how all the money put into the museum is givin back to New York Fire Department. Alot of time, effort, and heart ach was put into this museum in a very personal and intimate manner. I recommend going to this museum and then visit ground zero its self. It puts the meaning into the aftermath of the tragedy ground zero.

I will start from the purchase of the tickets to the actual tour end. First and foremost, the items orffered are "customer service" ways to improve the total experience. In conclusion, we will overview the musem experience which was exceptional!. Puchase of the tickets was easy and all of the info provided adequate. However, it mentions hands on museum which I encourage you to state "Limited" hands on. Why? When adults and children started to touch they were corrected not to. We felt there may be an issue with age limits since Gary wanted absolute quietness and no movement by the children, correcteing them a few times. The floors were noisy . Perhaps a need to remedy by moving displays since any age person could have been "rocking" in those spaces. Printed internet info was accruateand helpful. However, the isntructions need updating as to the "meet time and guide greeting". Repeatedly, it states be there10 minutes ahead of the tour to meet the guide. You need to explain why? since once there no one greets guests; and ringing the loft bell response was the tour will start exactly at 12 noon; without no other explanation. The tour lasted move than 1 hour but was delayed by not collected our tickets those ten minutes. Since we were the first group there , we repeatedly advised others we did ring the bell and the response was as above. But they felt the need to do also because maybe someone would come. Why? For 4 reasons: 1. The sign on the bulding does not state tours are offered on Mondays and all were concerned there was an error which we wanted clarified. 2. Your sign say s to ring with ring with questions. 3. Buidling location was found easy but "the waiting area was appalling!". The walk and roadside garbage and stagnate water was not appropriate for a business entrance/waiting area. The meat distribution business next door uses "your" sidewalk to load trucks and sort orders. Our standing waiting room meant we had to compete with moving forklifts, pallets stacked or cartons left for pick up, trucks being loaded in front of your building with the same trucks "spraying the stagnate water on the walk amd us" coming and leaving. 4. We realize we were there during the hottest time recently, but please do not continue to give the wrong impression the first 3 mintues a customer comes to you! Once in the building, your loft was ok but small - which explains controlled visitors. There was plenty of time seeing the photos and items displayed and we thank you for that. The videos were moving and the verbal presentations by both gentlemen informative and thought provoking. We certainly commend Gary for the "job" he did in documenting this historial event and feel fortunate the foresight existed for him to do so particularly at a large personal expense. We strongly hope the Museum will expand to a location and size encompassing all of Gary's items and others. We will be back - EXCEPTIONAL! THNX!!

Helped us to realize the horror of attack!

Pricing and time-length of exhibit just right. Hope that someday seating will be better, but understand that takes $$$. We visited Museum first, and would have appreciated getting tips for those proceeding to the Tribute exhibit and best way to view the replacement construction - instead of having a Gray Line bus simply drop us off 2 blocks away with "enjoy your visit". BTW-used "Unspecified" we didn't have a "Couple" option and would have expected that just under "Family With Children". Similarly, I don't understand why you would provide a choice of "Couple on a Date". There were several couples in our group and doubt any were on a "Date". Thanks for "listening"!
