Le temps alloué était de 2 h. Je croyais y passer 1 heure mais nous sommes restés jusqu'a la fin !! L'endroit est petit et intime. Je le recommande a tous. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié. Allez-y !!

"A MUST SEE/FEEL Experience" done with class
Fri, Apr 10, 09   1:00 PM KarenKavalau Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Other
The docents were knowledgeable, pleasant, helpful and appropriate for the venue they represented. The Museum was unexpected from the perspective of the intimate opportunity to see and feel the emotional aspect of 9/11 without "reliving the horror" of that moment in time. Instead, a respectful, poignant, opportunity to pay tribute to those who perished, those who spent day after day in the field working to help all of us never forget honored the United States of America. I felt proud to observe the portrayal of an American tragedy by Paul with a photograph that needed no words to convey the magnitude of a barbaric act and documented with a gentle touch of a camera flash that gave meaning, perhaps closure, a better understanding of heroism in the face of such sadness and capturing the soul of humanity all at the same time.

The stories we heard and the photos we say truly impacted us. We had been to Ground Zero right before we came to this museum, and found the photos to be touching and the stories insightful!

Small and Sensitive, but Powerful

The museum is very small, like somebodies living room, but don't let this put you off! It was packed with artifacts and outstanding photos of the recovery operation. You are given a short talk and then a short video, after which you are left to explore with your audio headsets. Each artifact and photo has a story behind it. A totally powerful and worth while experience and a great way to get personal with the stories of the people who went through this dreadful event. Thanks to the museum.

Amazingly effective considering the size of the Museum. Two hours worth spending as a powerful reminder of the events of 9/11. Recommend you visit this place prior to going to Ground Zero.

Gary Suson did an excellent job of providing a way for people to connect to 9-11. We were able to meet him and ask questions which was really a treat for the 3 of us.

Rememberance with Reverence

The exhibit is a room filled with rememberance of the events of 9/11 with primary focus on the incredible 8-month ground zero recovery effort. It's repectful to the families of the victims and pays homage to the many diverse volunteers who worked round-the-clock during the recovery effort. It's an amazing testimony to the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity. There is an introduction video followed by a self-guided audio tour. Individual headsets are provided. Take the time to listen to the narration for each item on display. You will be moved in ways you didn't expect.

Gary's photographs and dialogue brought so much detail to Ground Zero. The experience was both heart breaking and uplifting. A special bonus was having the opportunity to meet Gary!

For us, this was one of the highlights of our visit to New York. We were made to feel very welcome and the workshop had a very professinal touch to it. There was a short film at the beginning which set the scene brilliantly and explained how some of the images had been captured. The rest of the workshop was through interactive audio headsets which allowed the user to pick and choose the order that the images and artefacts were viewed in your own time. The photographer, Gary Suson, came in towards the end of our visit and was extremely friendly and approachable - this absolutely made the visit. Very poignant but something that none of us should ever forget. The intricate detail of the images and artefacts brought home to us all the scale and impact of the events of 9/11 to a degree that we had not appreciated before. A must for your visit to New York!

we're glad we went

this museum wasn't what we expected - a very small space with lots of photos and artifacts scattered around. but it packs more emotion per square foot than probably any other site in New York City. there are a hundred stories to hear, some you may know already, others that are new, the occasional uplifting or even humorous account, and stories that will break your heart. a very human and touching experience, and one you won't find anywhere else. highly recommended.

I traveled to NYC with my mom and sister. This was a high-light of our visit. It was only 1 room of pictures and articts with an audio tour. We used the entire 2 hours to view and reflect. Gary was there and signed our posters. It was a very personal and moving experience for all of us.
